It sure is and that’s why my wife and I left It’s a dumping ground for Eastern European people and corrupt Labor government It’s a shit hole over priced and depressing
I loved watching this video only for nostalgic reasons as I was 18 in 1993. However all the places shown in the video with exception of lower St. Elmo have now all improved. yes, there are too many chairs in Valletta, but the place looks way more beautiful today.
That’s how I remember Valletta in 1994. Good shot at 2.15 of the original entrance without the parliament building and the regenerated waterfront harbour area. It shows how important taking film and photos are to look back and compare. I am going back in June and looking forward to seeing the new waterfront and restored pinto area.
This is the capital city I like. Authentic with only a few tables and chairs outside and with traditional culture. No amplified music or massive numbers of street furniture. After this, in the early 2000, there was the Trifoni and Parliament project. Pity that today this iconic capital city is losing its charm.
I came to Malta in only 2022, everything is so different here.. I kind of hate it. There’s barely any trees, everything is trashed, to much construction, everything is too expensive but the salaries are low. Which is getting very annrking
Wonderful film. I wish I could go back to those times. Unfortunately Malta is a corrupt dump these days. Thanks for posting.

Valletta looks much nicer today. Thanks for sharing though!

I can still smell the honey rings by the entrance 😢
A true case of it was better when it was worse!
Malta tal maltin spicat😢
Kemm kien isbah dak iz-zmien!
Looks similar but so much busier today. Cruise ships disgorge people and there are restaurants everywhere!
U lum hxew belt fsorma dawk il liba tal glekijiet
Great memories from then and years before. Before Malta was blighted by the awful EU and the mafia.
Good quality given its age. Interesting to see that ugly city gate structure again. Much nicer now but too many people.
You know how the original gate looked right?
