People be criticising Heeseung’s personality when his devotion for the team, kindness and diligence was clearly shown in each episode. 1) From ep2, we can observe how much Heeseung has devoted for the team. Into The I-LAND: he sacrificed his own time for the team and stepped down from center when others weren’t satisfied. I&credible: He changed parts with Jungwon and supported him wholeheartedly, even though part 5 had obviously fewer lines and screen time. Fake Love: he assisted Taki patiently and helped each of the members although it was an individual test. Flicker: Heeseung gave up the part he wanted again, because he didn’t want conflicts within the team. 2) He spoke nothing but the truth when he said that he was belittled by K during ‘Into The I-LAND’, that made him hurt and intimidated to speak up. Now people be blaming Heeseung and Jungwon for being scared. In a Korean society which strongly emphasises on seniority, it is hard to confront/ directly speak up to the ones older than you, especially to a person who has an aggressive personality. Heeseung has been through a lot if mental hardships, yet he still prioritised the team instead of himself. He didn’t speak up at first because he wanted to avoid conflicts. But in the end, for the team’s benefit, he plucked up the courage to speak for the whole team. He has the right to feel hurt, voice his own opinions and speak the truth.
I just read this article. I totally agree. I think so. Even when selecting the group leader, i also felt that he gave in even thought he was very worthy and capable. With a wise, understanding and mature attitude and mindset. He is reliable. I also like jungwon. He also deserve to be a leader. Jungwon was really guided alot by heeseung. heeseung is sincere
I don't trust anyone who doesn't *at least* have Heeseung in their debut list. He's extremely talented, charismatic and has an amazing likable personality. He was born to be an idol no doubt
honestly, heeseung's the strongest vocalist in i-land. he has the best voice quality and control, even range. i have nothing against other trainees cuz bro i love them all so much but i think people are not acknowledging his vocals enough yet. he is literally the mainest main vocal material. he's not just technically good like not just because he can hit notes and stuff, but i swear if your a singer you would know what i'm saying. everything just feels so natural when he's singing. remember his adlibs on into the i-land? remember his i'm so tired short cover? remember how he sang fake love's high note? and now this 감빡이는 순간 before the chorus on flicker? iconic. istg heeseung's the main vocalist here. out of all the 23 who joined i-land.
Heeseung the real Ace. many people who like him not only because of his talent but also because of his very good nature, i really like him. Even though he is currently participating in a competition where many people only think about himself, but this is different from Heeseung, he always thinks of others first then think of himself. I think he has almost no selfishness to himself. He is so kind and i love it

Seeing how happy Heeseungs face when he said that he has already a plan to their team, and when he is choosing the members he has already pictured who would take the part 1,2,3,4, & 5. But suddenly K interrupts him, saying that it is better if their are the one who would choose what part they want. Heeseung's smile gone. But instead he agreed to his K hyung and he said he wants to do the Part 2 but suddenly K also wants to do the part 2 same as Heeseung. You would see in Heeseungs face that he really want the part 2 but when K suggested that Heeseung should do Part 1 because Heesung always do the Part 1 when performing, you can see in his face that he dont want the part 1 but when he already feel the tension between him and K, instead of complaining he easily agreed to his hyung to avoid the conflict between them. Sunghoon keep asking Heeseung if he is okay, He kept on answering that he is okay and he is happy eventhough he dont like the part 1. I dont know that theirs someone like Heesung existing in this world. How good and kind this man can be? Heesung also suggest to K that they should practice also their vocal but K wants to focused more on dancing mostly in their synchronization. Then the vocal coach enters in the scene, watching their performance in singing. The vocal coach is not happy with what she saw, they not yet know the lyrics and also Heeseung missed his parts because he doesnt practice it yet. When she asked who leads in vocal K said that it was Heeseung. Heeseung is the one who scold by the teacher. I feel bad for him. Instead to be mad at his K hyung he insist that they should talk to K in a nice way so they can solve their problems and work as a team. He is so kind, I cant get over with this man 😭
EXACTLY like i know evil editing had a part in this but after k said that it would be better to choose themselves he recommended other people's parts which just made me really unhappy because he just told heeseung not to so he just contradicted himself just to get part 2 :( NO ACTUAL HATE TO K BECAUSE IDK WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED but from what we saw it was pretty unfair. heeseung is such an angel

Heeseung being a true leader is smart as a whip. For being eagle-eyed and having mental quickness, he chose his members wisely, not being swayed by his emotions. He has calculated his actions thoroughly. He knows that the team's score is calculated based on each member's performance. He really is deserving of the number 1 spot. He led the team to winning test 2. Test 2 is about chemistry, so yes, Flicker team clicks, they certainly ignited the stage. Good job, our ace Heeseung! You will always be our number 1.
Honestly tho, I'm happy that Heeseung got Part 1. No one could pull off the 깜빡이는 순간 part before the chorus better than him. His voice and vibe suits the part and the song itself. You can put Heeseung anywhere and still stand out.
What I admire most about Heeseung is that he's one of the longest trainee in ILAND.. He's supposedly the most desperate to debut among the remaining trainees but ever since ep 1, he's been consistently giving & sacrificing for his team. He had every chance to grab the best parts of the songs but he never did. He accepted whichever role is given to him, & he even gave up his parts to cater to the other trainees' needs/requests. Heesung is the only trainee in ILAND who doesn't compete with others. Some might tell him that he's not enough or that his skills are lacking, but I think he knows where he really stands. His years of training is very evident. He only competes with himself. He never had the desire to take the spotlight. The spotlight just follows him. I feel proud whenever he takes the lead in their performances cause when everyone puts their trust on Heeseung, they always get the best results. Now, he isn't just fighting to debut - - i think he's already preparing to debut & whoever gets to debut with him is surely in good hands. PS. Also, i think one reason why Heeseung doesn't really fight for the best parts is because he believes in himself and his dream. It's not because he's weak, but because he doesn't really feel that he needs the center parts to do good. He does his best whatever part he takes because he knows that no matter how small one's part is, that part is still needed to complete the performance. He can feel that others want and need to prove themselves to the producers more than him, and when they say they want a certain part, Heeseung trusts them and he even helps them. His strength as a leader is not seen by how loud or assertive he is. He is a strong leader because others trust him even when he doesn't say anything. He's gained the trust and credibility as a leader through his actions (helping and coaching the members) and through the results of his leadership (quality performance of all his team, every unit wherein he was the leader have always delivered the best performances).

for me heeseung or jay should be the leader. heeseung is great, but as yoongi said you can't think for the good of all something like that, sometimes caring for others too much may have a disadvantage, he gives everyone a chance to speak and listens to them before deciding which i think is really great for a leader. as for jay he has an excellent personality to be a leader and knows the strength of individuals. whether it's jay or heeseung that will be leader i will be happy.

My thoughts on episode 9: Not everything is evil editing. It's obvious that K overstepped and took over Heeseung's role. Heeseung chose the team because he had certain roles for every member in mind. But K didn't even let him share his plan and said that they should get the chance to their parts. Next, we see K choosing a part for himself and assigning it others. Thus, K is not following his own advice. Even when Heeseung suggested vocal practice, he was ignored. Then when the vocal coach came, K shifted the responsibility to Heeseung. So, it's definitely not evil editing. K made a mistake and then apologised. And I understand that completely. Also, what makes me hurt is that K told Heeseung, he is inferior and not upto his level. I don't think that's right to say that to a team member and it can hurt someone's self-esteem very badly. Someone in the comments gave an example of BTS so I would like to say that BTS members fought a lot but I doubt they called a member inferior. And if K does not change himself, forget about Billboard Hot 100 #1, the team will not last and end up disbanding. A great team is not just about talents, it is also about having trust among team members and I don't see that in K yet. I hope he changes himself for the sake of the team.
I honestly don't think that the fans of K acknowledged that K made a mistake. They're always saying it's evil editing. And some of them even throw their anger at Heesung. Heesung didn't even do anything wrong. :(
@@leandra4532 Yeah I know, it's pretty ridiculous. Pretty much victim blaming Heeseung and the rest of Flicker team "for not speaking up" at the beginning. The members made it clear that they tried but it was very hard to get their opinions through. I've personally been in that situation myself too so I understand to some degree. Hopefully everyone saw what happened here and learnt something from this...for the sake of the team (that will probably be signing a 7 yr contract). As K is very popular among the producers and global viewers, K will definitely debut despite what has happened, so I hope especially he has taken this situation seriously and try.
I can't stop myself commenting about how perfect his voice here (I think it's my 3rd time). This song really suits him,it's just so perfect. They all did great job but I really love the way he sung this song. And he's expressions dang, for me he has the best expression among them. Despite the fact that he's not the center he definitely nailed it.
Hello:) I'm a carat and to be honest i started watching i-land for the past few days because Seventeen will be guesting tomorrow. And after seeing the i-land members as they try to secure there spot for debut and seeing their personality and oh their visuals can't deny too was a soothing feeling. But i don't get it why heesung fan cam has many dislikes followed by jake which is 1k. Why they can't stan talent, visual and good personality after all.
I have to say that HeeSeung is so cute when he waits for other members's parts beside the stage.But I am also surprised by his face expression that can literally change to be hot and charismatic at the same time.

Listen, I don't usually watch survival shows , I got the notif from bighit channel and I watched the live episode bc I was bored, it was the 2nd episode, the moment I saw his dance and heard his voice I knew he's the one ! Mnet did him dirty that episode but I believe he was kinda strict bc he expected everyone is on the level to learn fast since they are ilanders ? but he learned how to make sure every member of his team is in the level and that shows when he helped taki and cheered him up.. This boy is so kind, handsome, tall, he has great personality, he's voice is touching souls, his dance moves deliverer feels, he's so perfect and HAVE TO DEBUT IDC

He embodies in many ways the conception of what a mature leader should be: unshaken by flattery or criticism, has a spirit of humility, committed, not ruled by emotions (we can see it on how he chose his members), do more for others than himself, teachable, responsible, and can carry greater responsibility. I feel like I’m more frustrated than heeseung was when he didn’t get part 2. Whenever there’s test, he doesn’t get to choose his own parts. It’ll always be like “I think Heeseung could really pull this part because he’s good” while said part barely has any exposure or lines and heeseung, being the angel he is, can’t say no bcos he felt pressured. Plus they didn’t show producers’ comments on the performance for heeseung and sunghoon

Hey i was happy bcos for the first time I heard him say what part he wants to do but then he was instantly blocked by a member. You can clearly see in his face that he was sad about it but tried to play it cool

This is my first time watching an idol competition show so i'm not familiar with how fans of these shows are usually like, but by just going off of I-Land, I can tell that this Fandom has more issues to resolve than that of our boys in I-Land.
I really can't get over the fact that k belittled heeseung saying heeseung lacked so many things and was different level from him. This just really aint right and it still makes me mad. And heeseung is still hurting from this.. His mental health was badly affected because of these disrespectful words. Help, coz i really can't get over with this. I love heeseung so much he doesn't deserve being belittled by others when in fact he's been so great and showing his best of best..and more importantly he's been so good to others since day 1. MBTI test is a very accurated personality test. INFJ is very sensitive of how people feel so Heeseung surely get hurt of this words. Hope Heeseung can overcome it and believe himself that he is the best in Iland. He proved that in ep8 already.
Actually I was shocked when heeseung mention it. Because mnet didn't show that part, but I already doubt K's personality since part 1 ep. 2 when he call heeseung 'amateur' just because he try to change the step. But then his fans saying that K change one of the step here in this performance but they doesn't say anything about it but applause him. I just notice some double standard. I don't hate K, but if he will be the cause of mental breakdown of heeseung I don't think they should debut together.
In the preview, he didn’t have a badge (K). Honestly, his attitude isn’t group material, it’s solo material. He’s a very good dancer and a solid singer, so I personally think it’d be better to debut him solo or in another group if he changes his attitude which takes time. Since he’s very opinionated and stubborn, I think he would suit being a soloist. Edit; he is changing his attitude for the best of the team, and is giving everyone a chance to voice out their opinions. If he changes for he good, he will be group material; especially main dancer.

People be criticising Heeseung’s personality when his devotion for the team, kindness and diligence was clearly shown in each episode.
1) From ep2, we can observe how much Heeseung has devoted for the team.
Into The I-LAND: he sacrificed his own time for the team and stepped down from center when others weren’t satisfied.
I&credible: He changed parts with Jungwon and supported him wholeheartedly, even though part 5 had obviously fewer lines and screen time.
Fake Love: he assisted Taki patiently and helped each of the members although it was an individual test.
Flicker: Heeseung gave up the part he wanted again, because he didn’t want conflicts within the team.
2) He spoke nothing but the truth when he said that he was belittled by K during ‘Into The I-LAND’, that made him hurt and intimidated to speak up. Now people be blaming Heeseung and Jungwon for being scared.
In a Korean society which strongly emphasises on seniority, it is hard to confront/ directly speak up to the ones older than you, especially to a person who has an aggressive personality. Heeseung has been through a lot if mental hardships, yet he still prioritised the team instead of himself. He didn’t speak up at first because he wanted to avoid conflicts. But in the end, for the team’s benefit, he plucked up the courage to speak for the whole team.
He has the right to feel hurt, voice his own opinions and speak the truth.
I just read this article. I totally agree. I think so. Even when selecting the group leader, i also felt that he gave in even thought he was very worthy and capable. With a wise, understanding and mature attitude and mindset. He is reliable. I also like jungwon. He also deserve to be a leader. Jungwon was really guided alot by heeseung. heeseung is sincere

Seeing how happy Heeseungs face when he said that he has already a plan to their team, and when he is choosing the members he has already pictured who would take the part 1,2,3,4, & 5. But suddenly K interrupts him, saying that it is better if their are the one who would choose what part they want. Heeseung's smile gone. But instead he agreed to his K hyung and he said he wants to do the Part 2 but suddenly K also wants to do the part 2 same as Heeseung. You would see in Heeseungs face that he really want the part 2 but when K suggested that Heeseung should do Part 1 because Heesung always do the Part 1 when performing, you can see in his face that he dont want the part 1 but when he already feel the tension between him and K, instead of complaining he easily agreed to his hyung to avoid the conflict between them. Sunghoon keep asking Heeseung if he is okay, He kept on answering that he is okay and he is happy eventhough he dont like the part 1. I dont know that theirs someone like Heesung existing in this world. How good and kind this man can be? Heesung also suggest to K that they should practice also their vocal but K wants to focused more on dancing mostly in their synchronization. Then the vocal coach enters in the scene, watching their performance in singing. The vocal coach is not happy with what she saw, they not yet know the lyrics and also Heeseung missed his parts because he doesnt practice it yet. When she asked who leads in vocal K said that it was Heeseung. Heeseung is the one who scold by the teacher. I feel bad for him. Instead to be mad at his K hyung he insist that they should talk to K in a nice way so they can solve their problems and work as a team. He is so kind, I cant get over with this man 😭

What I admire most about Heeseung is that he's one of the longest trainee in ILAND.. He's supposedly the most desperate to debut among the remaining trainees but ever since ep 1, he's been consistently giving & sacrificing for his team.
He had every chance to grab the best parts of the songs but he never did. He accepted whichever role is given to him, & he even gave up his parts to cater to the other trainees' needs/requests.
Heesung is the only trainee in ILAND who doesn't compete with others. Some might tell him that he's not enough or that his skills are lacking, but I think he knows where he really stands. His years of training is very evident.
He only competes with himself. He never had the desire to take the spotlight. The spotlight just follows him. I feel proud whenever he takes the lead in their performances cause when everyone puts their trust on Heeseung, they always get the best results. Now, he isn't just fighting to debut - - i think he's already preparing to debut & whoever gets to debut with him is surely in good hands.
PS. Also, i think one reason why Heeseung doesn't really fight for the best parts is because he believes in himself and his dream. It's not because he's weak, but because he doesn't really feel that he needs the center parts to do good. He does his best whatever part he takes because he knows that no matter how small one's part is, that part is still needed to complete the performance. He can feel that others want and need to prove themselves to the producers more than him, and when they say they want a certain part, Heeseung trusts them and he even helps them.
His strength as a leader is not seen by how loud or assertive he is. He is a strong leader because others trust him even when he doesn't say anything. He's gained the trust and credibility as a leader through his actions (helping and coaching the members) and through the results of his leadership (quality performance of all his team, every unit wherein he was the leader have always delivered the best performances).

My thoughts on episode 9:
Not everything is evil editing. It's obvious that K overstepped and took over Heeseung's role. Heeseung chose the team because he had certain roles for every member in mind. But K didn't even let him share his plan and said that they should get the chance to their parts. Next, we see K choosing a part for himself and assigning it others. Thus, K is not following his own advice. Even when Heeseung suggested vocal practice, he was ignored. Then when the vocal coach came, K shifted the responsibility to Heeseung. So, it's definitely not evil editing. K made a mistake and then apologised. And I understand that completely. Also, what makes me hurt is that K told Heeseung, he is inferior and not upto his level. I don't think that's right to say that to a team member and it can hurt someone's self-esteem very badly. Someone in the comments gave an example of BTS so I would like to say that BTS members fought a lot but I doubt they called a member inferior. And if K does not change himself, forget about Billboard Hot 100 #1, the team will not last and end up disbanding. @@leandra4532 Yeah I know, it's pretty ridiculous. Pretty much victim blaming Heeseung and the rest of Flicker team "for not speaking up" at the beginning. The members made it clear that they tried but it was very hard to get their opinions through. I've personally been in that situation myself too so I understand to some degree. Hopefully everyone saw what happened here and learnt something from this...for the sake of the team (that will probably be signing a 7 yr contract). As K is very popular among the producers and global viewers, K will definitely debut despite what has happened, so I hope especially he has taken this situation seriously and try.
I can't stop myself commenting about how perfect his voice here (I think it's my 3rd time). This song really suits him,it's just so perfect. They all did great job but I really love the way he sung this song. And he's expressions dang, for me he has the best expression among them. Despite the fact that he's not the center he definitely nailed it.

Hello:) I'm a carat and to be honest i started watching i-land for the past few days because Seventeen will be guesting tomorrow. And after seeing the i-land members as they try to secure there spot for debut and seeing their personality and oh their visuals can't deny too was a soothing feeling. But i don't get it why heesung fan cam has many dislikes followed by jake which is 1k. Why they can't stan talent, visual and good personality after all.

Listen, I don't usually watch survival shows , I got the notif from bighit channel and I watched the live episode bc I was bored, it was the 2nd episode, the moment I saw his dance and heard his voice I knew he's the one !
Mnet did him dirty that episode but I believe he was kinda strict bc he expected everyone is on the level to learn fast since they are ilanders ? but he learned how to make sure every member of his team is in the level and that shows when he helped taki and cheered him up..

As someone who is older he should be wiser in taking his stance, so that he is respected as an elder by his friends.... open your eyes and admit that K attitude cannot accept other people's opinions and not even willing to humbly admit his mistake about choreo...

I feel like I’m more frustrated than heeseung was when he didn’t get part 2. Whenever there’s test, he doesn’t get to choose his own parts. It’ll always be like “I think Heeseung could really pull this part because he’s good” while said part barely has any exposure or lines and heeseung, being the angel he is, can’t say no bcos he felt pressured.
Plus they didn’t show producers’ comments on the performance for heeseung and sunghoon
I know right. They always say ‘he’s good’ but end up giving him the parts with least exposure/lines. He wants to avoid conflict and avoid arguments so that’s why he rejects and gives up parts easily. This is my first time watching an idol competition show so i'm not familiar with how fans of these shows are usually like, but by just going off of I-Land, I can tell that this Fandom has more issues to resolve than that of our boys in I-Land.
I really can't get over the fact that k belittled heeseung saying heeseung lacked so many things and was different level from him. This just really aint right and it still makes me mad. And heeseung is still hurting from this.. His mental health was badly affected because of these disrespectful words. Help, coz i really can't get over with this. I love heeseung so much he doesn't deserve being belittled by others when in fact he's been so great and showing his best of best..and more importantly he's been so good to others since day 1. Actually I was shocked when heeseung mention it. Because mnet didn't show that part, but I already doubt K's personality since part 1 ep. 2 when he call heeseung 'amateur' just because he try to change the step. But then his fans saying that K change one of the step here in this performance but they doesn't say anything about it but applause him. I just notice some double standard. I don't hate K, but if he will be the cause of mental breakdown of heeseung I don't think they should debut together.

Honestly, his attitude isn’t group material, it’s solo material. He’s a very good dancer and a solid singer, so I personally think it’d be better to debut him solo or in another group if he changes his attitude which takes time. Since he’s very opinionated and stubborn, I think he would suit being a soloist.
Edit; he is changing his attitude for the best of the team, and is giving everyone a chance to voice out their opinions. If he changes for he good, he will be group material; especially main dancer.
