I’ve enjoyed my Occre kits. Good instructions. Solid materials and they seem to be a company that’s building their clientele for long term. I really wish you would have chosen a genuine historical ship this time around but I’m a fan of pirates and such so this will be an interesting build either way. It’s pronounced oaker (oak-err) . At least that’s how I’ve always heard it.
Hello, the Flying Dutchman is coming on Wednesday. I've ordered it. I'm trying to build it using your instructions. I hope I succeed. Best wishes, Andreas👍
Take your time. It’s mostly about following the photos of instructions but be sure to read them too. Try to think ahead! Example: they don’t have you drill holes for the cannon rope work until towards the end. I think figuring out where they would be and pre drill them before attaching that sidewall to the ship. I’d recommend watching my entire series just in case I mention something I would have done differently! Thanks for watching and following along on my journey. Maybe make some changes so it’s uniquely your own! 👍🏴☠️👍
Looking forward to the build Dan. Couldn't help but want to listen to ; Wagner - Flying Dutchman (Overture) to get into the mood. Occre from what I've been able to tell is a decent company. I have my eye on a couple ships from them I' may get some time soon. Good luck with this build and will be following along.
I’m impressed with contents… I’m trying to match up to the parts list as nothing is marked. Some are easy, others not so much. Part 1 will show a little of that. I’m glad to have built a few other ships in the past! It’s nice that on some items they have included an extra piece or two…… but that hinders identifying some of the unique parts…. This ship will prepare me for a future build. There’s more cutting and making some areas by hand. Overall very impressed with the kit 👍👍 I wish I could play the soundtrack as an intro….. but it messes up my funding for future projects 😂. I’ll be working regularly throughout the summer on the Dutchman 👍👍
Awesome. You are ahead of me again, still haven't finished my Pearl and I bought the same Dutchman kit from Amazon recently too. Quite a kit, looking forward to see what you do with her.
😂👍. Lots of ideas. This one is going to take more patience than I have ever been able to do. I’m trying to organize 1st, then try to get started without getting too far ahead. It’ll take everything I have learned from the past and learn some new things… definitely a test of my organizational skills 😂. Maybe you can learn from my mistakes!😵💫👍
I'll be watching to see what you do different to what I'm doing to mine on my channel, Please really go through the instructions B4 you start, there's lots that they want you to do that I think is in the wrong order, There isn't really a parts list, I wish there was tough. Keep up the great work sir. PS. love the sea shell idea, I changed my lights as well, and I'll be 3D printing a really cool base for mine.
Yes, I’m definitely going to try and think things through before starting! I’ve been following yours and heard your comments that helped a lot! Glad to be in the brotherhood 👍🏴☠️
@@BoilerDan1 cool, Ty for watching mine, this is my first wood ship, I did the plastic 1:96 Cutty Sark but have other wood ships to do once I'm done the Dutchman, and it's great to be in the wood ship brotherhood
Kleine Welt! Ich freue mich, dass Sie mitkommen. Die Familie meiner Mutter stammte aus Deutschland. Familienname Reister. Ich habe Erinnerungen an meinen Großvater (Großvater) gefunden.
I’ll start the actual build tonight or in the morning. Hope to start by organizing all the parts…. Something I failed to do in my first projects. History is a good teacher.😉🏴☠️👍
I was in Florida and bought them at a Hobby Lobby store. I will show more details in an upcoming video. I considered some from Amazon but wanted to see in person what I was getting. Here’s amazon ones: a.co/d/gGyy4BJ Thanks for watching 👍👍

Thanks for the pronunciation 😂👍.
After this one, I’m confident enough to tackle a historical ship and do it justice 👍👍

Where do you get shells for shell torches?
