I did forget to do a breakdown at the end while I was installing the 10 footers. Here’s the math. 129 linear feet of gutter guard Charging $5 per foot (129 x 5 = $645) Material cost = - 1.70 per foot ($ -219.30) $ 425.70 worth of profit completed in about 30 minutes. This equals roughly $851.40 per hour if you’re doing larger jobs, alone.
Elite Roofing and Construction here, long time no see brother, glad to see you back. Love your content as always. Getting back into the business after taking a long time off - taking care of my wife who has MS and the cost of in home care around 8,000 a month for just 40 hours a week - ouch. 63 and still loving it - lol. Keep the videos coming brother. Stay strong and stay healthy. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving day and wish you a Merry Christmas and a awesome new new for 2024 - business and personal.
Good to see u back. Gutter guards are nice and easy money. .. The longer pieces are called step-up style. There for the supreme style hangers. The flat is for spikes. Hope to see more videos
I like your vids y’all are crushing it! Do you do any door to door sales videos at all? I don’t care for the other roofing TH-camrs and feel like you guys do things the right way. Keep it up would love to learn more from your channel
I don't know if you remember my comments about my roof. I told you my wants and desires to do my own roof as a last ( who rah ) my 64 year old body and wife say " NO " but my 21 year old mind say's you better listen to the wife. Well as it turns out I got a contractor that gave me a great price and I am on his schedule in 2 weeks. I will be able to watch from tear off to plywood replacement , drip edge, moisture barrier, and making the stairs and nailing. I want to thank you for the detailed video's on proper roofing installation, I may not be doing it but can do my part watching and helping in a smaller way. I caught that part in this video about a older man 64 with bad knee's made me think you might be referring to my comment. Who know's be safe, God Bless.
Holy sheep shit, Zach is back after almost 2 years. Obviously he's been too busy pissing excellence to make videos.....now if he can stay and bless us with videos of his top notch work we will be golden ( like a shower of course) 👌
rookie here how do you measure to get the right size gutter guard ex. 5inch/6 inch. I've watched videos but everyone has a different way, what's yours?
They're usually all 5 inch, if it's 6 inch you can tell it's a way bigger gutter than you'd normally see on an average house. Metal roofs and really big roofs are much more likely to have 6 inch
Would you be interested in finishing my 12' x 12' shed with soffit and aluminum fascia and getting my vinyl siding starter strips started? I am in the 419 area code.
Steep pitched hip roofs, Texas rain storms and homeowners that think they don't even need gutters makes these a challenge in Texas but they are a money maker. The water shoots right over most leaf guards though.
Pitch hoppers are also fantastic. Im gonna be looking into this for my roofing business. I always sub my gutters out but I think ill start offering gutter guards. Ive been selling the zinc or copper strips at the ridge to help keep the roof clean which I havent seen anyone else offer for some reason.
@@NWIVeteranConstruction 1. Thanks for your service brother! 2. The strips are cheap (not copper obviously) but, for the "blue green" algae and shit on roofs that apparently as dark streaks on a roof. If you install this strip under the ridge caps then everytime it rains it washes the particles down the roof and keeps it clean, helps with shingle life in the long run. Even easier than those guards but probablt not AS profitable. I'm sure you can charge more than I've been though too. The zinc strips you get about 5 good years out of where copper you get a little longer and a little better results in coverage. Same concept pretty much when you see those black streaks, but below any exposed pipe boots is clean. Z-Stop is one brand you can easily find but it's something to think about for a little more profits and little extra labor involved. I'm more of an insurance hustler fighting for customers that insurance screws over really lol. Best of luck with business sir.
interesting! i thought that using 3 tab as cap was the main cause of those issues because 3 tabs didn't have the same algae resistance as the architectural shingles and cap. so switching to break away cap should solve it too right? also, i feel like we see more of that around roof penetrations and heavy water traffic areas on the new roofs...
Look for Facebook pages locally for neighborhoods or areas as a whole. You can also post on your own page and let everyone know your pricing ahead of time. Makes it a little easier to land jobs
Hey man, appreciate your videos. I want to do this and a lot of people have told me not to lift the leading shingle or break the seal of it if it is sealed. Does doing that impact water intrusion seriously?
If you're in a hurricane state maybe I can see something like that but where I'm from, they don't seal to the gutter apron like That unless people put starter on up side down which is weird. Also, this brand doesn't go under the shingle, it gets fastened to the back
They're solid aluminum with holes punched through. I think you're talking about the correct thing but I don't like the word mesh because the mesh gutter guards (with like screening) are trash. I show them up close in this video a few times
Ya man. You have no idea. It all started with your 3 part video series on a Friday night. I just got hooked watching you work and learning what you were saying. Also, it was kind of relaxing listening to the tempo of your nail gun.@@NWIVeteranConstruction
You can get in black in 10 foot. Most gutter warehouses around me carry them. I don't put screws in the back.. it's either under the drip edge or I'll put a screw every other hanger towards the back of the guard. Zip screws every 1 foot on the front
@@NWIVeteranConstruction I love it I'm already ready for the snow to be done but unfortunately we are just getting our first snow storm. Too your videos we go to get tips for next year lol
I can tell you from sub contracting for a gutter guard company that I have done old peoples houses just gutter guards that the salesman sold the job for 10 thousand dollars they paid me 400 to do it (which was a lot to me as it took me 5 hours tops by myself) and the people didn't have a tree within sight for miles...original reason for clogged gutters was chipmunks who were still able to run up the downspouts when I left...
I don't know anything about that specific company but your local roofing supplier like abc building supply or beacon building products should be able to help!
That are the worst gutter guards keys get caught and stand up then rot out fall in and turn in the moss then you have to remove the screens to clean them.i recommend the fine screen ones available at costco.i been cleaning cleaning troughs for 25 years.
Bro ,even just cleaning gutters is easy money. . Advertise it every fall, can get rhe crew an easy few days just cleaning gutters and make big bucks for a few days . Gets the guys off the roof for a couple days also
Putting screws on the shingles side of the gutter guard is sheer suicide. Water will find its way below the screw deteriorating the wood below it causing leaks in the ceiling always install screws on the gutter side the front so you don’t cause roof leak problems.
if you're a younger man I'm sure you can get used to it. unless you're like 6'5 and uncoordinated lol I've definitely seen some people that don't need to try and overcome that fear
