Wow. I was assigned a junior sister in college in late 1969 as a newbie and after about 2 weeks she told me that she couldn’t be my sister anymore because she just got a job on some soap called All My Children! Who knew that Susan Lucci would become such a star!
I started watching this with my mother back in the 70's as a young child. I am surprised that to this day I can still remember most of the characters names from then until now. Great show. Was devastated when it ended. Important events on this soap represent different milestones in my own life.😔
Oh the memories 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭❤!!! Daytime TV will never be the same. These stories and characters brought joy in house mom lives. When they ended Daytime TV got dim!
My mom got me addicted to all my children. I remember it use to come on at 1:00 pm everyday. When I was at school my mom use to record it for me. All My Children came out 1970 I think and that was the year I was born. I think it ended 2011 when I was 41 years old. Brings back good memories watching it with my mom back in the day. I miss you Mom.🙏❤
What memories. I used to watch this program as a young man. I remember all the characters. Susan was the first actress to throw shade along with Phoebe. Charles, Nick, Mark, Palmer, Nina, Tom, Jeff, Opal, Jessie, Angie, Ruth, Joe and remember Carol Burnette being in a few episodes. Reruns would be nice to watch.
started watching this in 1970s in college. Then taped it (vhs) every day so me and my wife could watch it every night. We Named our daughter Brooke after Brooke English. Used to be able to name Every on of Erica husband's
I remember the episode. But, back in those days a VHS Tape cost Big $$$ so after watching the episodes, I just retaped over them. I know there are books (I have some) on the whole history (and differant story lines) of All My Children and "Pine Valley" on Amazon. Hard to believe I started watching a Soap in college (was back from Vietnam and I guess "Somebody Else's Problems" even in a Soap Opera help me with mine.
I do remember that Specific Episode as I fought in Vietnam (1968-69) and was really interested in the "authenticity" of it. As I said, I taped and retaped on the same VHS tapes for years, so unfortunately I have none of ANY episode kept. (never thought of them as something to keep). But, watching thing like this video, brings back a LOT of memories and years. (where did they ALL go?????)
When we went on Vacation trips, we set the VHS to tape the last 25 minutes of every episode we would miss, then had a marathon "catching up" with the things at "Pine Valley" once we got home. During the regular work days, the last thing I did was set the VHS to tape the show the next day and then watch it with my wife over supper.
Thank you John. I read all your replies. I do remember the VHS's tapes, I used to have Beta tapes with copies of the episode I was looking for. Unfortunately, I lost them over the years. I can't even remember the name of that episode. Again, I thank you for your replied and for sharing your story. Shere.
I so miss this soap! I grew up watching it when I was sick from school back in the 70s and 80s. I continued to watch it into adulthood and after I had my children. I'm 50 now and just watching this brings tears of missing this in my life. ABC has the rights of this great soap amd OLTL. THEY NEED TO BRING THEM BACK!
Lynn Stash I would come home from kindergarten and there would be my mum watching AMC....I got hooked early but this was before vcr invented so I was sol with AMC for a few years. Ahhhhh memories.
@@audreyaitken1037 Me too. Only it was my cousin I was in kindergarten too in 1970. I watch the show since I was 5 yrs old. Until it went off the air. For a total of almost 42 yrs of viewing for me. Miss it so much.
That's exactly who got me started on it! I totally loved all these characters! Hope they are all doing well! (Aside from the ones who are now deceased)
This is a good montage. I used to watch All My Children, One Life to Live, and General Hospital when I was a teen. It is fun to see all of the past couples. I had forgotten that some of them had been a thing, some were such a mismatch. Some of the wedding dresses were so cute in the day but now are so ugly. Susan Luci had so many looks and always looked great. I have seen a few of her interviews and she was so down to earth and had one love of her life husband.
I REALLY Miss my Soaps! Such a HUGE part of my life at one time! ABC soaps were THE best...Since I watched AMC from the First episode, it meant THE most to me. I do miss those days! The older I get..the more nostalgic I get...
What a great job you've done sparking memories of fans of the show. Very well done! I started watching in 1976 and watched off and on until the mid 200'0's. Thank you for your journey down memory lane for so many people. Excellent work.
Wow!! I loved AMC and Ryan's Hope the best. I remember seeing Peter Bergman in Central Park and David Canary in Litchfield, CT. I loved the Cliff and Nina storyline!
WOW...THAT WAS🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 My mother started me watch AMC bac in the 70's.Then after a while she just watched everything on CBS. I said mommie you got me started watching this. And then you leave me.. She just smiled 😁..My still living 97 yrs young 🎊🎊🎊
Tracy from General Hospital was on here, I never knew that, loved this show started watching it as a child in the mid 70's all the day time soap's on ABC 😊❤
My memory isn't what it use to be and I don't remember some of the character's names but it was nice to see them all again! The best soap of all times! Thanks for the memories!
Very nice fond memories. I miss that soap opera. Sad that it had disappeared. Soap operas aren't strong like they used to be. Different generations today, oh well. Thank goodness for anyone putting these on u tube. I thank you very much.☺☺😃😃
That was beautiful. I started watching with my mom in 1983 at the tender age of 6. She got me addicted as she had been watching since before I was born lol.
This is so painful to watch this. So many of these actors are dead. I feel like a part of my life is over. I watched for so many decades, since I was a little bitty girl in diapers in the early 70s.
Oh my goodness! I came across this post and what memories! That was the best soap of all time. And I didn't even LIKE soaps! I got hooked on the Jenny, Gregg, Angie and Jessie storyline and I was a goner. Plus Erica and her antics lol. Made me sentimental. All those wonderful actors...I wonder where they are.🙂
The two best soap operas, all my children and One Life to live were taken off the air and the two worst soap operas, Days of our lives and general hospital were left on the air. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
I just found this beautiful selection of photos from All My Children. I went to HighSchool with Francesca James at Fitzgerald High School in Warren Michigan. She does not mention anything about her time at Fitzgerald High School in her biography which really surprised me. Her real name is Francesca Rubino and her parents had her later in life. She was an only child. She was one year behind me in high school and she is an absolutely lovely person. She was always known for her beautiful long hair to her waist and was a straight-A student. She was in all of the theater Productions with mr. J and played Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz in the touring company. She always seem to have other ideas than just the normal crowd and she really dated anybody in high school. She did attend the prom with someone who was like a friend to her but she was not part of the crowd that ran around. She did participate in the student council and was a leader. I remember seeing her in gym class when she performed on the balance beam and she was known for her beautiful voice and I was never surprised when she attended Juilliard. She dropped out of Juilliard and went on to the TV shows. One of the big breaks that she did not get was she tried out for the party part of Gypsy Rose Lee on Broadway and would have starred with Angela Lansbury. She missed the part and I don't know if that's what you're over to the soap operas on TV. Unfortunately I never saw her in the series with her plane Kitty and Kelly and I would really like to see those episodes. Her parents are now deceased and she was always so well-mannered young lady who would never take drugs or never speak ill of anybody. Her parents had owned a restaurant up in Caseville Michigan where she worked in the Summers but again she was always focused on a career and she was very great in theater and she had a beautiful voice. She was also a very gifted dancer and was absolutely the Talk of the Town in school but I'm sorry she never mentioned Fitzgerald High School. She lived on Ada Street in Warren Michigan a few blocks from my home. And I believe she graduated in 1967. if you would like to know more about her please contact me at this site and I will give you my email address. As far as I know she she is we called her has never married and has no children. her real name is Francesco Rubino and we always called her chichi.
