@@andrewmyburg6487 they guy is a gifted athlete and really strong, he is definitely packing more fat than is required. I;d like to see him take a shot at hooker haha
His 2 drop goals at the end of the match vs Australia took South Africa from behind to win. 74th min and 78th min. Final score 22-19. First goal was from the touch line from a poor clearance 35-40m away. Second was from the pocket 30m away on a favourable angle. He was 20.
Donkey's years ago I took my lad to see Wales v Italy U21 at Ebbw Vale. Five minutes in, the Italian 10 kicked a drop from his own 10m line with 20m to spare. It was the most phenominal drop-goal I have ever seen. Your vid of Steyn's kick reminded both of us of that long-forgotten day out. Thanks!
I love how Racing 92 seems to get people based on talent, Stein, Imhoff, Carter, such an exciting set of players. And Steyn alone is a one man backline. And I will say it again, such an amazing skill you have on setting music and narration/comment at the right places. Keep up the amazing work
It'll be cool if he could go for another Lions tour next year and win it. Surely that'll be a record for the only player to win two RWC titles and two Lions tours.
We won the last world cup because of him, Rassie knew he could play a 6 2 split because we had a versatile player who could play any position in the backline aside from scrum half, will never get a rugby player in the world like this again
And again yesterday against Wales, superb! And wins man of the match changing the momentum of the game when he came on, like he did just a month ago against New Zealand. The holocaust in the early 1940s World War 2, and Francois Steyn that never played 100 tests for South Africa are the two biggest attocities ever committed by man. Surely he wil make the World Cup, and possibly become the only player ever player to win it 3 times....
I reckon as a gifted athlete he must be one of the best in the world, he has done it all and if you look at his career he didnt play much test for the boks.
The long range goalkick specialist. Utility back: Centre, fullback, wing and fly half. 2nd Springbok that won 2 World Cups. Glad he's back in SA again.
@@hennoliebenberg3885 I hope not. Love the guy but we have a horrible trend in SA of playing players way past their sell by date; not only does it tarnish their reputation but it also blocks the inclusion of potentially the next Francois Steyn.
As much as I love him as a player he was mainly in the boks squad during the World Cup because of experience and leadership, not quite needed when the Lions tour seeing as SA will be at home with a larger squad.
@@AndrewDavidForde very true! I was simply thinking what nienaber and rassie would do. They do tend to hang on experience so i thought he would maybe be involved. But seeing he is part of the cheetahs now that could lower his chances anyway
This guy was an all rounder, he could play center, fullback, fly half and winger
he'd probly make a solid prop too😂😂😂😂😂😂

Anywhere except 2nd row probably...
What do you mean "was"
More like versatile.
Absolutely amazing athlete. There's a reason he has won 2 world cups and 2 B&I Lions tours. Proudly south African
He didn't even play in the lions series
What couldn't or cant this legend do . The most talented player ive ever seen in every department

Great game that . He single handedly won it for us
We should really be talking about the work rate of Andrew like jeeezzz

And in 2021 changes a Bok/AB game entirely...best by far! Fabulous Francois Steyn!

He said it's his objective. Arguably just a bench role though.
@@EllliotJackRussel1 Pollard is injured but he would still be on the bench because if damien Willemse Elton janties went in fact he might be a reserve
@@ewmuvva5852 Pollard is a mile better than both. Jantijes did not work at Test level and Willemse lacks experience.
Pollard is better but I thought he tore his acl playing for montpellier
Morne Steyn Did It For SA!!
Absolutely brilliant!!!! 👏👏👏👏 And still going strong!!!

The Goat of utility backs. 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
Brilliant! He was a prodigy!
Underrated
The long range goalkick specialist.
Utility back: Centre, fullback, wing and fly half.
2nd Springbok that won 2 World Cups.
Glad he's back in SA again.
Even steals balls at ruck time
Kinda player that only ever comes once !
100%
So good that they don't know where to put him lol
Man... how many positions can this guy play? Talk about versatility.
Wednesday ngt - October 6, 2021.
The best boot in the business
That Shane Horgan tackle....
This guy is a legend
That's the best connectiooooon Ive evr seen.(drop goal at the beginning )))
Francois Steyn is gold my favourite
Concur
Best kicker ever
Great tackle technique to never mind the off loads
He is a weapon . Long in the tooth but still dangerous. Watch out "Lions" ))
Fair play to the guy to have that much belief in his own ability he must of put the hours in and worked hard !! Amazing 🤩
Should easily be a 100 plus cap springbok
What a player and what a video, Next one Damián de Allende pliss!!
70+ test caps, 2 world cups, 2 lions series victories and the scary part is that he never really reached his full potential...
Probably my favourite player.
34 This year and no signs of slowing down after that last game against NZ
Frans Steyn is een van die beste Springbokke ooit. Hy is seker die beste voorbeeld van wat n agterlyn speler is.
The only Steyn,,, Fraans Steyn...
The Kimi of rugby
I wonder how long he will still play rugby because he already has 2 of them golden medals behind his name so yeahh
He's a giant
How did he not make 100 caps?
I still don’t understand why we don’t see more drop goals in rugby.
There have been plenty in Aotearoa this year.
different styles of play is my guess
Just when he appeared on the scene to think NZ wanted him. Goes to show when you have class you just got it.
Who's here after the retirement announcement.
Frans passievol en committed Dankie Frans
Anyone here after this man won SA back their no.1 ranking from NZ?
Who reckons he’ll continue to play for the boks?
Lions tour then maybe 2 more years of club rugby for cheetahs
I doubt he is older now and he has done enough for SA maybe a new player will take over from him

What a freak, would've been the greatest, had he played more international rugby
But could he play scrum half??
Yes- he was talented+ball sense( had a good pass)
120kg flyer.....
I think his played in 4 world cups..won 2...damnn..
Actually it's 3 world cup he wasn't there in 2015 world cup
Enigma!
The best rugby player in the world
I think he should go play in AUS or NZ. Just to show them what’s up.
Rasputin!
Wakw up sheeple
wake up
Should come punt in nfl when he retires from rugby, make millions just kicking]]!]
