you played the wrong gun, you need the 102/40 with a decent shell velocity and not the 105/25 derp gun, which is way tooo slow!

Makes me wonder how Claus got killed by one of these things in the first place. You need a special "God is with you" equipment slot or something.
its mainly played by cheaters that use aimbot. its profile and alpha is perfect for anyone running aimbot to get dpm in. moment i play it with acc equipment slots it cant hit standin still targets, but whenever i face these things always dead on pixel shots

Great TD! IRM in first slot, with vents and rammer The IRM lets the aim circle start smaller, so you need to let it aim less time. The alpha is huge at Tier 6.
Better binos..0.36-33 is ok with food.
I have tried binocs -- it lets me miss shots at greater range that I might well have hit with the IRM . I am willing to let others scout/spot and use closer range where my 300+ alpha snap shot finishes them, and I might miss those also w/o vents and IRM. But, YMMV

Basoto is a pretty nice tank if you mod it correctly and have a decent crew.

Bassotto (or Barstard Otto as I call it) is great, practically invisible with a massive boom stick, loads of fun. Removing half an enemies health and them not having a clue where you are is immense fun.

Brilliant display of what is wrong with the Italian TD line. Everything sucks so even when you fix 3 of the problems with equipment, there are still multiple others that still exist. So just chasing your own tail all the time. Excellent series which showcases tanks that people may not have tried and after watching you, we can decide whether it's worth grinding them ourselves. Much appreciated.
Tier 7-10 is awesome. Loved them all and can have monster games in any of them.
Tier 5 and 6 are awesome for their tier. and actually existed for a change
I love my Bassoto! It's a beast tank. I typically get near 2k dmg with it and often outspot lights. Glad you picked the right gun on the second game!
I 100% agree with everything you said in the commentary that was removed, I'm sure it echoes the exact same rage I get watching someone hide/afk at the end, when they could have done something to maybe get the win. I've noticed the last few months a lot more afking, especially in premiums, or people just wandering off cliffs and drowning themselves than I've seen in years.
Keep doing these mate. Honest reviews with honest gameplay are rare and much more useful to learn from. Instead of a unicom telling us what they see as best you show what's good and bad.
Claus, watching these videos are great for many reasons. 1 we get to watch you play and rant 😂. 2 we get to see tanks that wouldn't normally get shown and lastly we get to see you rant 😂

The Italian TD line does get better. Next tier up is turret and auto-loader, with decent armor. Rock on Tankers 🤘😎 PS....Kellerman, we love the no BS channel. 😍

Claus you touched on one of the big reasons why the number of players has dropped from 34k to roughly 12k on the NA server - crew retraining then you find out it doesn’t matter because Italian tank lines suck anyway.

Standard TD spot = standard arty aiming point, just as well no arty otherwise we'd really be enjoying the vid as Claus rants about arty and the picture would need to be cut as well as sound to prevent lip reading a demonetising "utterance"

Bassotto is a pretty good stealth sniper, at least in my experience. Hits Hard but not armored well at all. Shoot and Scoot, plan your lines of fire.
Yes, no cherry picking. This IS what every player would see, the good, the bad and the ugly sides of battles in World of Tanks.
I'll Love it if this was a regular feature, this is a teaching moment, and it would be a shame if you stop doing it. 100% :)

One of my favorites. I aced it. I use the 102 gun, with IA, Vents and Rammer. I play it as medium range support and as an ambusher. Figure on taking a hit or two as you kill a target with that high alpha. It is situational though, depending on a competent team to keep the enemy from focusing on you as you ambush

I liked this tank at it's tier. Even 1 tier greater matchmaking was a nightmare.
That skill training crap is why I haven't played in years. The greed got to me, but I have saved 100s of bucks!

I enjoy playing the Bassotto.
I have a love/hate relationship with this TD. The first time I took it out, I burned up after absorbing one shot. Next battle, my entire crew were knocked out in one hit. I chose to use Improved Hardening to try to limit the critical damage.
But that alpha at tier VI.....when you are top tier, you can one shot tier IVs all day.
Claus-don't stop, realistic and you are so knowledgeable for us noobs, Funny too!!!
Hey Claus - Re: Live gameplay w/ no cherry-picking? Absolutely yes! Keep it up? It's so easy when playing this game to feel as if it's singling me out for all those blowout games, missed shots, and other fails, so seeing someone else, especially a CC, go through the same pain IS very encouraging. You're demonstrating the old saw about how the game doesn't hate me personally, it hates everyone equally.
Love the live reviews and you finding out turds the hard way helping us with useful intel.

In my hands the Bassotto with the 102mm is good (averaging 6th place on team xp after 50 battles), and in fact my best Tier VI so far. It's _the_ stealthiest tank destroyer at Tier VI and has an excellent gun. But it's very fragile so you want to shoot from long range, making sure to fully aim in each shot (much like the Ikv 72). It's a pretty good money maker, I'm averaging just under 8000 credits per battle. Recommended equipment: Vents, binos, and exhaust (a case could be made for camo net instead but keep the binos). Recommended field mods: Reinforced Suspension and Ejector Tuning.
(I've played 14 battles with the 105mm and gotten poor results.)

I've had very good luck with this tank. With a full camo crew and low-noise exhaust, I've got stationary camo to nearly 60%. The gun acts very much like the SU-100. You MUST fully aim, or you won't be able to hit anything, but when you do it's a beast. I get pretty good luck with bino and improved aim added to the exhaust. I find it pretty much plays like a slow, poorly armored SU-100 with much better camo and view range.
Yeah this is a Great way to do your videos Claus, because We as Players can relate to what its Really like Grinding a tech tree tank, the next TD's the Semovente Controcaro up the Italian Line are very Good to Play.
The only Italian TD that I have is the Vipera. It's NOT even in the Italian TD vehicle tech line. It deals some good damage, and it's an autoloader (five shells per clip). You should try it.
I love this series. Keep it going. Set a rule. You only play a tank once.
That resource killer was obvious back in the day when you would reach tier 9 and suddenly there is an extra loader or a brand new radio op or worse Both. It has just gone Darwin and evolved from there. *Note Back in the day Definition - Gold rounds ACTUALLY cost your Gold**

I never retrain using gold. I either grind if the grind is ok, or buy those training booklets with credits to train up the crews

Claus, I suggest you watch 2-3 games on you tube before playing with the new tank. that would help you understand how some tanks are different than you think. for example Bishop is a type of spg tank that plays differently than most spg's. sometimes it can be fun and refreshing and different. It has a crazy shell trajectory loop. You can hit where no one has hit before. ;)

5:30 - that shell should participate in a Space Program, well, typical WG RNG mechanic.
The Bassotto has become a very well liked seal clubber TD because of the excellent gun, good mobility and camo.
But you have to know how to play that game.
At last someone said it. That was painfull to watch, all 3 games. Bad aiming, bad use of bushes, etc.
The tank isn´t great, but when you have a youtube channel all about WOT, you must be... a bit better.
Again, not the best tank, but good Lord that was awfull. I apologize to mr. Klaus and all the fanboys, but for someone doing tank reviews and tutorials in a youtube channel, that was shit.
The game is easier when you play a ggod tier 9 or tier 10 tank. No shit sherlock !!
Sorry for the honesty..
It's a small TD with very good camo and high alpha damage gun but no armour. I do well in it but not the easiest of tanks to play. Use it's stealth and you will do well.
Spending additional time at the range learning to lead your bb's would help.
Bassotto was a mixed experience. It's rather fun dealing 400 dmg with a T6 TD. But the aiming is above 3 sec. even with improved aiming. Sc67 (name?) - the T8 has good armor, but also long reload on the autoloader.
I run improved aiming, optics and exhaust on mine with the 102 gun. Don't forget your field mods on new tanks.
The Oyster Bay map has one shitty TD spot from which you have no view of anything other than the enemy counterpart where some enemy TDs might be and you can blind shoot them, as they have no view of anyone from where they are, so they are not going to fire and no one will spot them. If you go anywhere else in a glass cannon and you shoot you have a good chance of dying unless you go so far back that you cannot participate until the battle is almost over. Then you can fire one or two shoots before you get completely overwhelemed by the winning enemy team. The problem is not so much speed but rather that you have nowhere to go. For the light tanks it is also the same: you can go to a bush from where all you can to is you can spot the enemy light tank in its counterpart position. TDs cannot hit anything because all enemy heavy tanks go behind some crazy high mountain peaks. If you are lucky and you are in a medium or heavy tank you can duke it out and, if you are fighting muppets and have some support from other turretted tanks, you may win the duel. Any other type of tank is a waste of time. I hate this map.

I'm happy to watch Claus play. Bear in mind very few players are going to have instant success with a few games. You need time to get used to how the tank plays.

i am actuallyon the way to the basotto because of the mag loaded 360 degree turning turret TD's that come after the bassotto, it will be hard lol

Any tank that makes you snort is worth playing.
Claus, when you play the 122TM next time, please take a general look at tanks and their stats, and decide which stats are the weak links and boost them with your equipment loadout.
For example, the 122TM is a great tank, however, the DPM is atrocious, the gun handling when in motion is bad, terrain resistances are bad, and the view range is also below average.
My preferred set up for it is Rammer, VStabs, and either vents to help boost everything slightly or optics. I would recommend vents. Do not use turbo. Terrain resistance is so bad turbo does nothing, grousers actually does more for speed
Yes the 122tm... The tank that has long enough loadtime so that the red team forget that it exists... Every shot is a surprise.
You have to play in third person with that shell velocity! The shell will surpass the topography. Still very hard to play.
These are much better than the cherry picked games. More like the regular guy.

Claus, my friend, if you don't show your games, you can fall into the trap of becoming one of the grumblers without cover.. Keep going, the gray everyday life of this game is not often seen in the videos of most content creators or players.
