I always wondered why it was like that though. Aside that, I've also wondered why the hair doesn't seem to act as normal hair which is affected by gravity, but in most MMDs it just keeps falling slowly, acting as hard pillars when touched, moving too much, acting as holograms, glitching very often, or being being pushed way too far from the head.

They have a hard time managing to simulate real life physics accurately in short period of times. There simply are too many variables under a real life space for computers to be capable of accurately rendering all physical properties of an space and how they would behave with a strand of hair. Since accurate physics are not really that important for a video of Miku Hatsune dancing, the program doesn't try to accurately measure physics but rather to look pretty. Similarly, the model of Miku does not have strands of hair with complete free movement as one would have in real life but rather have small connections called bones per portions of her hair because it is humanly and computationally easier to fabricate and simulate 10 pieces of hair than 10 million individual strands plus most computers, if not every single computer alive right now, does not have the computational power to simulate the later. TL;DR: Computers aren't smart enough to simulate accurate physics and humans don't have enough patience nor time to make realistic hair.
