Thanks Chris. As you say fs 4k max 2gen. Is best deal at the moment. Be interesting to see any follow ups on your previous video on Thomson/ onn box for Uk and Europe. That may shake things up next year.
Firesticks are great for those who don't use them often. You can't beat the price for firesticks another reason why people want them. For those who can afford, and stream often the Shield is on top for quality and performance. I use the shield hard wired in with no buffering, no VPN, and no RD. I will never go back to the Firestick.
I use my 4K and 4K max fire sticks all the time some of them are wired via ethernet where the Wi-Fi signal isn’t great in parts of my house. they do the job for me and at the right price.
Yeah, there's something going on, as now my show devices are now LOCKING up before 48hrs consistently and have to REBOOT them! Even My Echo Hub was having issues with devices and Ring alarm with HUGE LAGS! The Echo Hub seems to be fixed now but, my Echo Show devices are locking/freezing up over the last week or more! My older Show 5 just goes to a BLACK screen now after less than 2 days! Then have to pull the plug to reboot them!
If it was £19.99 it would be worth it but it's the tine of year where fire sticks will drop in price. I got the 4k max 2nd gen last year on black Friday for £35
we don't know yet how much this will go down this Black Friday it may well go down to £19.99, but then if you can get the 4k max 2nd gen for £35 then I would still go for that.
As the video says they won't drop it on devices they have already released, they will probably release new firesticks in the next year or two with the new system on.
#ChrisWaite Not sure why you're saying it only has 'Stereo PCM and Audio Pass-through' when your stat sheet clearly shows that "Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital and Dolby Digital+" (AND 'HDMI audio pass-through' (for same))... ARE SUPPORTED. Am I missing something or are you showing an incorrect stat sheet (for the 'first' FireStick 3rd Gen.)??
Amazons site which is what I am showing is showing the wrong information as I say in the video the tech specs shown are for the firestick 3 all my sources have confirmed that it only has pass through.
@@cwtek1 Thanx for the clarification. I didn't really get that you were saying the stat sheet info, itself, was wrong. So, still confused on one point ... this is replacing the LITE stick, but is it replacing the standard 3rd Generation ALSO? If so (at least due to the weaker audio support), then isn't it a weaker/worse version of that older '3rd Gen.' stick? If so, why would this make any sense to even make? In other words ... "We're going to make virtually the same 'type 3' stick (but slightly worse), but we'll knock $5 off the price for your inconvenience!" I mean, I wouldn't (and didn't) buy either of the two previous versions, so why would anyone want to buy this thing? I still have a couple standard '4K's and a 'MAX, 1st Gen' stick. But avoided going for the 'MAX, 2nd Gen' (despite the 2x storage) because ... 1.) There were a number of 'growing pain' issues with the new OS8 system (and I must admit, I'm not sure they got all of them fixed)? 2.) Like many, U've had it with Amazon constantly making the experience WORSE with practically every system 'update.' I bought one of the cheap (well, for us in the U.S., anyway) $19.88 "ONN 4K Google-TV" boxes and eventually will pick up the 'Pro' version ... waiting for Black Friday to see if they knock the price down a bit from $50? However, I still have a 'Recast' OTA DVR (unsupported now and days are numbered) and 3 Echo Dot speakers that I can't afford to replace yet ... so, I'll hang in with this until they die! And then it's ALL Google-TV from there! 😁 Keep up the good work, Chris!

Hopefully it will before Amazon start releasing their non Android firesticks.
There are lots of boxes based on google tv. It is a pity that is not the case with firestick.

I’m sorry to hear that you’re having problems with your echoes, I would suggest getting in touch with Amazon and reporting issues.

When are they dropping Android?
Thank you for sharing this

Thanx Chris…. Shared

To bad u don't live n the U.S. ONN 4K Box $19.99 still beats It 😂
Its a great box, shame it's not available in the UK.
Exactly I purchased the new Onn 4k pro for $50 and before I was using the Onn android box for $20 I'm done with fire devices

What a waste.....they create this to stop older device updates so you need to buy a newer one...I'm starting to hate this company
This has the same fireos as the devices it has replaced, so the updates will be available on all 3 devices for the same amount of time.
In a world of affordable 4k TV's, im not sure who this Firestick is for, a few more bucks will get you a 4k Firestick
Yes that’s right as I say in the video wait for a sale and get a better stick.
