The lyrics to Joy and Pain.. is real a life story. I've been listening to Frankie since the early 70's and God has truly bless Maze & Frankie Beverly. All their lyrics pertain to life. "Happy Feelin's" and "Golden Time of the Day" were my number one hits. But, I got into all their music. I can remember when I first seen Maze. I was in Jr. High School back in the 70's.
101bigpoppa, Im sorry for ur loss. If ur grandpa was anything like my mama (she loved Maze), U remember him cuttin a little step when he heard his favorite song. Then he'd say something like, "U dont kno nothin bout this here boi." U cant help but smile real big. :)
How come gettin 52 yrs. soon and sure tears drippin down the cheeks as flashbacks are takeing over. Far beyond skin color true music prevails as a universal language. Greetings from Jogi Cologne Germany
For those wishing they were born earlier, that's the beauty if good music. It's timeless with rhythms and meaningful lyrics that are just as powerful today as they were then.
My father used to take me to Frankie Beverly and Maze concerts when I was a kid... I didn't get it then.... Love and miss you dad!! He exposed me to the greats!
aaron donaldson I couldn't agree more. Why was it so wonderful then with Stevie Wonder, the Commadores and Tavares. It's all so violent now. We didn't know what we had then.
My Friday Night 'Tha's My Jam' playlist on FB; Maze feat. Frankie Beverly. 'Nuff said...blessed enough to have seen them in concert....memorable. Thank you, Maze feat. Frankie Beverly, y'all rock. Thanks for the upload, tazed1. Blessings. #keeprockin'...

I remember this song from the 80s..loved it then and still love it now. Lovin frankie Beverlys voice.. Also check out frankie Beverly and the butlers....great stuff
For some reason, Went I listen to Maze & Frankie Beverly .I can be down in Spirit . But let me listen to any of there songs, It Boot My Spirit . It must be the Soul in the Music.
I love this classic record, yet it resonates well when you are feeling down. In a way the song allows you to embrace both joy and pain, while making your spirit, heart feel better.
This music makes my whole body HAPPY!!!!. Listen to the WORDS and then that beat is off the chain. You are very good!!!! Do you have a gig anywhere now or booked during the holidays? My husband wants us to come out and support you. Ricky how are you? It's been an awfully long time (43 years) since I've seen my classmates, friends and even some family. I am doing well. My two daughters and two grandsons are also doing good living in the ATL. and Alabama- Military, FT. RUCKER ARMY BASE, she is the first AFRICAN-AMERICAN FEMALE SOLDIER to EVER hold that position. My other daughter is a CIVILIAN HEALTHCARE ADMINISTRATOR contracted with the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. So, oh yes I'm a very proud mother and a proud wife of 21 years to a RETIRED U S AIRFORCE SGT. I have travelled extensively because of my profession as a OSHA REPRESENTATIVE and I loved every minute of it. Just retired 3 years ago because of some serious health issues that GOD has since healed me. What a MIGHTY GOD WE SERVE. Where is your sister? I can't think of her name but I remember her. How about RITA BUTLER who lived up the street from you all? I am drawing blanks when it comes to my memory, not to good these days lol, we are aging gracefully. Tell me something about where our classmates are, please and thank you. I'm going to try to be at MR. MANATE in DEC. 23rd, I think. Somewhere it's on Carlos's in box, I pray that a lot of CLASSMATES show up, I would really love to see everyone. Happy Thanksgiving Ricky to you and your family. And if we never get the chance to meet and talk, it was nice reaching out to you this morning. May GOD in ALL OF HIS GLORY shine upon your life in a mighty way. Rev. Michelle Leatherbury (Micki Henderson) VBHS Class of 1975
