    Another point for throwing up hill: if the hill is very steep you can end in a situation where you have terrible footing. So in some cases stand still is mandatory and that should also affect the disc selection. Another shot I've had success with is a forehand roller, given the terrain calls for it of course.

  • @jeffreydheere4737
    @jeffreydheere4737 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The one thing that stands out to me to question is that when throwing uphill, you 'hopefully' are keeping the nose angle down. The disc (and your hands) path is still a straight line with the nose of the disc angled down relative to that path. The path just starts at a lower point and ends higher. If you get the nose up relative to that pull path, you'll get a floating and stalling flight rather than a drilling fast flight, but going uphill.

    • @davelopez9161
      @davelopez9161 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In fact, one video I watched said that to get the nose down, start lower on your backswing.
      I have a very short hole that is down hill with a low ceiling. On this hole I start high on my backswing and try to "air skip" the disc under the branches. The high backswing gets the nose up.

    • @Latitude64
      @Latitude64  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Totally correct, the flatness is always relative to the flight path needed, and not earths gravity. / Johannes

    My home course has a lot of uphill shots with tree lines on the sides, so you really have to be able to land in a small area on the hill or at the top of the hill. I've found myself reaching for something stable or even slightly overstable (buzzz or roc3) but throwing it very hard on anhyzer. It fights out of the anhyzer by the time it crests the hill and lands fairly flat. Not ideal for uphill distance, but seems better for uphill precision.

    Awesome video guys! However I *really* don't agree with throwing faster discs uphill simply because it "plays longer" yet I see great players on video doing it all the time (especially at DGLO on the Toboggan course), there are certainly times when smashing the fastest disc you have is appropriate and depending on the wind and whatever else you have to deal with other than the hillside it might be the right choice but if you have an uphill tunnelshot I prefer a disc I can rely on to land flat so depending on the slope I go either gobi or fuse (I did have a patrol for uphill hyzerflips a few years ago but I gave it away to help promote our sport, more people need to know about it... especially those that do yoga or have picnics right next to a basket).

    • @MaximilianBerkmann
      @MaximilianBerkmann 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It could be about all kinds of footing. Uphill downhill, muddy, leaning to the side, short, standstill because of obstructions.

      I would guess this has been recorded a while back. At least all of Finland is covered deep in snow. Maybe there could currently be snow-free land in the south of Sweden, but the grass is too green for it to be mid-winter. And Latitude 64 is based in Skellefteå on the 64th latitude, pretty north.
