- #uttarakhand के गांवों में हिंसक जानवरों के हमले पिछले कुछ वक्त से लगातार बढ़ रहे हैं. ये हमले सिर्फ यहां के मवेशियों पर नहीं बल्कि इंसानों पर ज़्यादा हो रहे हैं. बाघ और तेंदुओं के हमलों से यहां लोगों में काफी डर है.
नैनीताल ज़िले में दिसंबर महीने में ही ऐसे हमलों में तीन लोगों की मौत हो गई. सबसे ताज़ा हमला भीमताल के पास अलचौना गांव में हुआ. जहां एक लड़की निकिता की मौत हुई और उसके बाद से यहां लोगों में गुस्सा है.
इस बीच वन विभाग ने मंगलवार तड़के एक बाघ को पकड़ा. इससे पहले एक तेंदुए को भी पकड़ा गया था. वन विभाग ये सुनिश्चित करने की कोशिश कर रहा है कि क्या ये वही जानवर हैं, जो लोगों को मार रहे हैं.

I am from Bhimtal and leopards are everywhere. They have recently killed 3 people and they even came across our houses and populated neighbourhood. Thank you covering our town @newslaundry.

If you see what happened last 50 years you will be surprised that people have shoved away these animals into small concentrated parts WITH OUT RESISTANCE. अब प्रकृति प्रेमी वन्य जीव प्रेमी आ जाएंगे अपना दार्शनिक ज्ञान बांटने कि इंसान जंगल में घुसता जा रहा है और एनिमल और इंसान कनफ्लिक्ट बढ़ता जा रहा है.. दशकों से रह रहे हैं यह लोग आज से नहीं सालों से पर पहले ऐसा नहीं था अब यह जंगली जानवर पापुलेटेड एरिया के अंदर जाकर लोगों को खा रहे हैं जिसके घर से कोई इंसान जाता है उसको पता चलता है कि उसकी कीमत क्या है बाकी लोगों के लिए तो मात्र आंकड़ा है... समझ में आ रही है बात फॉरेस्ट वाले तो हर बार की तरह हम ये कर रहे हैं हम वो कर रहे हैं रिजल्ट शून्य...सोलर लाइट लगाने से टाइगर के अटैक रुक जाएंगे क्या? अजीब मजाक चल रहा है ...बेचारे वो क्या करें उनको अपनी नौकरी करनी है.. यह तो सरकार को सोचना चाहिए जब जंगल ही इतने नहीं है तो क्यों ज़्यदा बाघ लेपर्ड को पाला जा रहा है उनकी आबादी भी लिमिटेड रखी जानी चाहिए सब जानते हैं एक टाइगर का लंबा चौड़ा एरिया होता है उसकी टेरिटरी होती है जब इतने जंगल ही नहीं है तो इतने टाइगर कैसे एडजस्ट होंगे जब हमारे पास इतने जंगल ही नहीं बचे तो इतने ज्यादा जंगली बाघो का क्या करना है सरकार को इसके लिए कोई ठोस पॉलिसी बनानी होगी. और अब कड़े कदम उठाने का समय आ गया है ताकि किसी के घर से कोई इंसान की जान ना जा पाए🙏🙏

हमने जंगलों का कोई अतिक्रमण नहीं किया बरसों से एक ही स्थान में रह रहे हैं। सरकारी कानूनों से जंगली जानवरों के हौसले बुलंद है। हम भी चाहते हैं कि जल्दी से जल्दी पहाड़ों से पलायन कर शहरों में चले जाएं। सरकारों को जानवर प्यारे हैं इंसान नहीं।

Although I do agree with other comments around people encroaching on forests but I think this isn't it. Other areas have commercial activities going on full scale, look at the area around Jim Corbett, rampant deforestation and hotels/resorts popping up!

I have done research on Human-Wildlife mitigation, not in uttarakhand though. And let me tell you these interactions are very region specific and depends a lot on socio economic factors as much as if not more than environmental factors. Do let me know if someone has some questions.

Animals are not wrong. Uttarakhand land law allows outsiders to buy the shit out of Uttarakhand land. And the population has grown so much that villagers are acquiring outskirts of land where animals leave.

Actually ever increasing exodus of people from villages leading to growth of jungles across the Garhwal and Kumaon regions. People have abandoned treading ways they once used to frequent resulting more and more areas conducive for growth of wildlife like boars monkeys and leopards. Constant fear forcing more and more people to abandon villages and its well known vicious circle. It’s no more wildlife and human conflict and results are before everyone to see that about 1500 ghost villages. There is no policy in place either to check unprecedented growth of wildlife. Attacks on humans being is just routine which is forcing people to abandon villages. Net results is with ever increasing population of boars monkeys and leopards entire region is going to be turned into wildlife habitat in just few years from now. Believe it or not but it is reality being undermined and unchecked.

Take examples of compulsory acquisition of lands by Govt's where natural deposits and minerals were found. Govt evacuating the entire villages by compensating them and provides them appropriate land against that. There's a lease agreement between the Govt and every resident of this country , the Land you resides it's belongs to you but subject to some terms and conditions **

There is no job, no proper road, no medical facilities or schools or water supply or electricity. If these lands belong to the animals then it equally belongs to the Humans who have lived here. They go to the forest for woods and subsistence for their livestock. They have been doing that for eons. At least they are not polluting like the cities. They sell fresh organic milk and vegetables. A lot have left their ancestral homes and fled to the cities. Did you make sure how they are living in those cities where it is getting costlier by the day?? Yes, Government takes over mines and moves the people. But in this case how many villages are you going to move and where will you move them?? Blaming it on the people and humankind is becoming boring now a days. Remember, tigers and wild life used to roam on every inch of India. Those big cities you call home, used to team with wildlife once. Why not turn these cities into wildlife zones and give it back to these animals. So, blaming it on Humans, especially on those who have never harmed these animals is sheer stupidity!!
