    Bruiser Brody the legend was murdered by Jose Gonzalez the coward on colón's birthday, July 18, on carlos' orders. Colón owed bruiser money. Jose was recently humiliated in the ring and bruiser wanted Jose out of the club. Brody had become a part owner with Carlos in the wrestling federation in Puerto Rico, and was killed because these shady cowards conspired and ambushed him unawares in the shower room hiding a knife under a towel. Blindsided. Tony Atlas was the only friend to Bruiser that day.
    Rest in peace. Bruiser Brody was like no other. LEGEND.

    @island328 The way I've heard it was: Brody wanted to buy into the WWC, which I believe was in fact owned by Colon. I don't know if Gonzalez had an interest in the promotion, but I would assume he did. Did he fear a hostile takeover of WWC by Brody? Did he just fear losing his job? It's clear Brody and Gonzalez didn't get along, on a personal as well as professional level. I think there's a lot no one knows about; either way, Gonzalez never spent a day in jail for what all agree he did.

      tgfabthunderbird1 gorilla monsoons shares along with a minority share holder was going to place Brody in the owners seat to make major decisions and enable him to retire a comfortable life. he was looking at homes in puerto rico.

    Eso era cuando Hugo Savinovich fué traicionado por Barrabás y se cambió al bando técnico. También, en la parte final del video apareció sentado al lado del Dr González, un joven Victor the Bodyguard (qepd).

    It definitely wasn't Feb 22, 1985. Brody was in Japan on the 22nd for his opening night of his last All Japan tour before switching to New Japan. He worked that night at Korakuean Hall. He flew directly to Japan from Kansas City where he wrestled a one hour draw with Ric Flair at the Memorial Hall. He didn't come back from Japan until March the 23rd. (He made a surprise appearance at a New Japan event at Korakuean Hall tp challenge Antonio Inoki!
    I don't have any listings for Brody in Puerto Rico for 83'. He did work a short tour in Trinidad during August.

    • @AngstRiddenClown
      @AngstRiddenClown 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've heard March 25th 1985 as the date but it can't be because the Universal title was on the line and Dory Funk Jr held that title between Feb 27th and June 15th that year. After Colon's feud with Funk he went almost immediately into a series of matches with Abdullah The Butcher and when that finished into another series with the Sheepherders which ran until year end so if this match took place in 1985 it would likely have to have been in January or early February. Colon had been feuding with Brody and Stan Hansen from July to October 84 too so very early 85 is entirely possible.

      @matthewfarmer8740 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good catch, I do have a Brody vs Colon match that was a double count out on December 22nd of 84'. So that may have set up the chain match. I have listing for Brody in Puerto Rico in January but no day. One match (tv) he wrestled Sabu, and one day he was in a 15 man street fight battle royal that Hercules Ayala won.

    • @matthewfarmer8740
      @matthewfarmer8740 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Could this have been in 83? When he debuted in Puerto Rico? From looks alone it looks like 83, because by 85 he was a little lighter

    • @AngstRiddenClown
      @AngstRiddenClown 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't think it's his debut because of the stipulation but it could easily have been 83. I know Colon and Brody had one match in 83 where Colon was 'injured' and a grudge rematch a few weeks later which could logically have been a gimmick match but I don't have an exact date for either.

      Ah ok, thank you. Do you recall the local newspaper that use to cover the results? just cannot remember the name, the paper from Dominican Republic was the El Caribe.
      The papers usually had line ups.

      "I already knew the verdict by the time my subpoena arrived at my door. It was 10 days late," Mantell said. "That's why the verdict came back not innocent but not guilty. Jose never testified. They believed what his attorney put out - that he was merely acting in self-defense. Fans in Puerto Rico believed wrestling was real. That was the major reason that Jose was acquitted. Because they believed Brody was this character, this wild-looking, psychopathic, hulking figure."
      Shortly after escaping punishment, González was repackaged as a face - backstage wrestling slang for a good guy - and given increased attention on the indie circuit. The Wrestling Observer, probably the most respected news outlet in the industry, characterized the push as the most disgusting promotional tactic of 1989. A year later, González replayed a dramatic version of the stabbing as a storyline, this time with wrestler Atsushi Onita acting as the aggressor, in the Frontier Martial Arts Wrestling promotion.

    @island328 Again, where are you getting all this? I didn't know YOU were there. Nobody helping Brody and letting him die on purpose? Please. I guess you are one of those crazy conspiracy theories believers. Carlos Colón is a very decent human being that got caught in this tragedy. José Huertas González was the only one responsible for it. Why would Colón want one of his biggest superstars and drawing powers dead? He naturally was by José's side, as any friend would and that made him look bad.

      bullshit!! it is a well known fact that carlos colon is corrupt as the government in peurto rico is. no conspiracy. did you listen to the shoot interviews of people who were there? there is a picture of gonzales right before going into the courthouse smiling like he knew already he was getting off from cold blooded murder.

      Do some actual research on the trial American wrestlers such as Tony Atlas did not receive their subpoenas until after the trail was over.. It sounds like some payoffs were going on then again I guess that is justice in that third world shithole country.
