- The Beys from both the 20th anniversary sets are battling it out in a team battle! We said that we didn't want to battle with our Beyblade Metal Fight remakes so quickly, but that went out the window right away 😂 The Burst versions of the original Beyblades are definitely not competitive in the current meta. The same thing can be said for the most part of the Beyblade Metal Fight remakes, except for Storm Pegasis and Lightning L-Drago. Those two Beys in particular are pretty good when you use them to battle against current Beyblade Burst GT Beys. Overall, these two sets do pretty decently against each other!
What do you BBGs think of these Beys? Both the sets are more for collector purposes, but should we do more battles with them? Which set do you like more?

Yeah same, and even when it debuted I already was a bit older in my teens around 14 years old(I was exactly 10 when Pokémon debuted in the west) It was more my lil cousins thing who was 8 years around that time.

Soo there's Beyblade competitions, different formats, and all of the tops I used to play with have been remastered into a much cleaner (and hopefully more durable) combo? I might get some of these now.
It could just be my lack of experience or the effectiveness of the newer beys, but these actually look less durable than the originals. I could totally see them intentionally making the beys less durable too since it's pretty exciting when one completely bursts apart.
@@carstan62 I think the point is that they are durable parts, but the pieces are made to have the gimmick of bursting apart. And I agree that having them break is fun to watch.

Being a gen z guy, I remember the memories I had with the 2008 versions and the anime that came with them
1999 was gen z as well because gen z starts in 1995 or 1997
the actual classic ones were very different at the base, it had free space, we used to cut the tip and use a metal screw, also inserted blu-tack and spun it a few times while soft to even out, they were MONSTER after these mods, the newer models can't be modded

I sanded the top part of the base so that I could fit 2 weight rings under the attack ring.
I was only into Beyblades for about a year back in the early 2000's, but this video brought back some sweet nostalgia. I always thought Beyblades were a really cool idea.

Yeah, I remember looking into spark mods as a kid for a while too and getting Japanese imports; the only real issue with Beyblades, for me, is despite all the techniques people use, you still have little influence once they're in the stadium. Fun, but ultimately, uninvolving.
We played on top the rubbish bin tops at school. The bins were hexagon shaped so it was the perfect arena

Dude this bring back so many memories! I used to play with the 1999 series when I was a kid! Driger was by far my favorite and the most reliable. I also had a dragon and remembered that the stamina was horrible.
I also had the longer rip cords and illegal weight disks lol. They made the beys way too OP.

Garret Alspaugh the Metal Saga beys look nice and they all have good power too but I haven’t gotten too invested in Beyblade Burst that much yet and I think the Beyblade Burst beys have the coolest design in terms of its looks
The newer beys seem heavier and that first strike after launch has alota impact hence the bursts lol but this was alota fun to watch guys thank you.

We used have bey battles all the time in my neighborhood. There was always the rich kid with the bey stadium and a huge collection of beyblades and there was this guy who just happened to have one bey and was better than all the others.
Gotta be honest, if it weren’t for Sagittario I might not be able to tell the difference between the original metal fight and the new ones. They really did a good job remaking them.

Anyways these are so nostalgic. I remember not having money to afford more Beyblades and my uncle helping me and my cousin (his son) make beyblades using whatever we could use from his toolboxes. It was so much fun battling with homemade beyblades made of steel and all the spark generated from the battle! y.y

But other balance types dont go in the center, just like Z achillies
the metal weight distribution in the burst beys are no longer even. compared to the original metal version, where there is a solid ring of metal around the bey. hence, these beys wobble more and are more unstable. Also their tips are smaller compared to the rest of the bey. well, at least they do move around and don't chill in the center like in the past.
But it makes the battle more interesting.
I agree with niloy and jerieh. It also has to do with faster launcher and more unbalanced weight distribution.

The gears in the EG are shot, the stickers are fallen off mostly, and they're a bit beat up. But every few months I see them sitting on my shelf, pick them up, and give them a spin. Both the Beyblade generations were major part of my childhood. It was Pokémon and Beyblade my entire primary and middle school.
I wasn't even watching anything related to this, but this got to my recommended😅 Anyways, this would've been close it you used the 2nd gen Draciel(ok maybe not). I broke some kid's beyblade with that. Although those metal beys are an unfair match against the old beys.

Around 2010s I bought 2 metal blade beyblade for me and my brother here in India and I was around 10 at that time..we used to battle and the real sparks were amazing though..back in the days when I joined school I used to come home fast so just I can watch beyblade, Pokemon etc on CN.. it's quite nostalgic!

as a kid i could never find where to buy beyblades so i never had one :( my friend had 1 we would have to just make it spin and that's it lol luckily we had those little beyblades from chip packs to play with but i always wished to play with real beyblades
It gave me a great nostalgia feeling . I remember I once cut my finger while launching my L Drago my favorite.
It's all about weight.. Remember when I was a kid I customised my dranser with a heavy metal disk and added mini steel balls in the holes and it lasted forever!!

I had this Chinese bootleg metal attack ring and it would that thing was unstoppable on the playground
Is not that simple, weight affects a lot of different factors, and for some is recommended more weight, for some others less weight, for some is better a central, for others a periferical distribution of weight, not counting a lot of others factors of main importance like height, shape of the contact points, shape and grip of the tip etc.
If it would be so straight forward there were no tournaments at all.
And more weight affects negatively the endurance, it serves the defence more, and the hitting power when attacking, but too much weight makes you slower in attack, in attack for example the ideal would be to be as light as possible to move fast but just a little heavier than the opponent to receive less recoil as for the third principle of dynamics, but it suffers a lot some type of pairings
Weight increases defence but reduces speed
At this point, I accept that the new burst/metal system Beys work better and are more durable; but I still love the look of the original plastic system Beys. I wish they would go back, design wise, but keep the build of newer system.

the very thing I dislike about the burst systems is the very burst ability itself.
why would i ever want the bey to dismember in pieces when hit hard enough? it just ends the fun!
not like I would want to put em pieces every now and then even though it protects against the destructive wear and tear.
being a metal fusion veteran I just couldn't get over with the solid beys which would always be tight screwed all throughout their lifetime.
Ofcourse the most vulnerable part of those is the facebolt which has the stress of holding the bey together. but i can actually afford to replace them with completely metal versions at the cost of a little incremented weight. :P

Yes. If I remember correctly the bottom tip of that bey was flat. Not tipped or rubber. Back in the day @ afterschool Gym we were able to battle and other than winning, I'd to a victory spin and let Driger spin as long as it could until it slowly stopped and stood still perfectly on the tip. I would then pretend to be in the show raising my hand for the bey to zip through the air and return to my hand. Sadly no matter how many times I tried I had to walk over and pick it up. Watching that show I wanted it to be so real so bad aha. I'm glad for this quick nostalgia.

-attack type rings
-defence type rings
-stamina type rings
-clockwise/anticlockwise launchers
-the ripper length
The bottom type- rubber/metal.
I am not sure if its that complex now.

Damn this brought back so many memories! I used to play when they first came out! I remember using a trash can lid as my arena before my mom got me the yellow arena. We used to have tournaments in my back yard! I had some nasty beyblades! No one stood a chance but these newer ones are crazy! Definitely got me tempted to find my old beyblades and hit up some of my old friends and see if they still have theirs! Haha

These are built different, even from the looks it's obvious that metal fusion have way more weight then original ones. If both teams were in a similar weight then things might have been different.
