- Custom Solar-Powered Lighthouse for your Garden Decor
A friend of mine loves Lighthouses and asked if I could make one for her yard.
With those two goals in mind, this is how I made a 9 foot lighthouse for yard decor.
I hope you enjoy it.

Thanks for taking us along on your journey. Try, try, again. Great motto.
My pleasure
Whew, what a big, complicated, stressful, challenging, beautiful build! I have to hand it to you for sticking it out to the end and making the end result be absolutely AWESOME !!! My hats off to you for sure! I love it and it really looks great! I’m sure the people you made it for are beyond pleased with the final outcome. Thanks for sharing!!
Thank you very much. It was definitely a challenge but I learned so new things along the way, and the ending was enjoyable.
What an awesome project!. I'm sure your friend will love it!

Thank you
Love it. I work at an Senior Living facility called Beacon Crest. Our symbol is a lighthouse and this would look so good.
I love this... Particularly enjoyed your tenacity!
Very cool I love it. Great work you guys.
Thanks
Very nicely done. I liked the part where your wie was being a little bit silly lol.
thanks for sharing
She is definitely funny but prefers to keep it off camera except when I catch it like that.
Wow looks beautiful
Great video!
Thank you
Good job with that. I want to build one for our backyard, but not nearly as epic.
I have to give you Kudos as that bills was really good. Another idea also is you can apply a motor to spend the top of the lighthouse simulating the light itself moving you could use the small DC motor and have a potentiometer somewhere in the middle of a lighthouse that way you can adjust the speed of the rotation. I can just imagine it it would look awesome.
That is a cool idea, thanks
Good job . I wanted build 1 out of wood also . Seems like was lot work and time involved. Winter project. Thanks for the video .
Thanks 👍
youve got alot of patience i would have been pulling my hair out great build
Thank you. I might be missing a patch or two. 😀
Oh oh oh how neat. I love you 3. Maybe challenging, but u did ut. Oh how I love wood working, move to tulsa, ok n make things here, please. Lol
😀
I love it great job bud .....
LOL you should have made one out of PVC pipe I'm just teasing I think it looks really neat looking
I thought about it but decided not to ☺
Specific Love Creations honestly I don't blame you it probably be harder but I like the one that you made it's so much cooler :-)🤔😁
I love it
It doesn’t really have to be that tall six feet is good enough thanks beautiful job.
Really cool but i would SERIOUSLY love to build a real lighthouse n my backyard of East TN and i mean a full scale replica of the one back home n st Augustine. It would be so cool in my back yard with so many puzzled as to why theres a lighthouse nowhere near the ocean. Well?? I just love em is all
OK, I want to see a re-do with 12" PVC pipe.
I love it wish you could build me one how much would you charge? Thank You
Great job the actual light needed to be bigger to fit the pole wonder if they have a solar powered light that would be much bigger but it looks really nice
If they do I did not find it at my local stores that looked right.
Great, but it would have been nice to have seen even a few seconds of night footage. I mean, that's the whole point of a lighthouse ...
What was the width of the boards you cut from the sheet of plywood at both ends? Were they tampered?, it appears they are
Sorry that is too far back to remember
Nice job. I'm sure the recipient will be very pleased with it. Is the recipient going to anchor it in its new home or just let it stand, un-anchored? I don't known how much wind they get, but I'd be concerned about it blowing over at my house. Is there a place in the bottom where they can add base weight to keep it from blowing over in a good wind?
They plan on anchoring it with L-brackets to a concrete base.
Looks really nice! Only question I have is how do you prevent it from falling when the wind blows? Sorry to be a spoil sport..
Good question. The new owner plans to bolt it with L-brackets to a concrete island.
This is a great video tutorial! I have a lighthouse that is rotting and I am wanting to replace it soon. How much of a difference of width did you have for the top and bottom? Thank you.
I could only guess at the difference because I no longer own the lighthouse, it was a gift for a friend who lives several hours away.
I'm sure as you have found out; the 22.5 degree cut doesn't hold out on a tapered top. and the more it's tapered the cutting angle could drop to 17 degrees. That's the dilemma that I have, especially the conical top. Looking for that correlation. Small projects; if it doesn't fit, you can re-sand the angle smaller, not a large project like a lighthouse.
Thanks for the tip
Looks great, but how do you get in? no doors.
😀
Soooooooo...where is the light house...all i see is a barber pole??
Sorry if I missed it, but where did you get the solar light for the top? Thanks!
Either Home Depot or Lowes
Where did you get the lantern
I think it was Lowe's
Specific Love Creations thank you
how tall was it
Over 8 feet
Great job and great workmanship and your wife is super Hot
