The brain loves patterns as that helped us to see and hear patterns (dangerous animals) and thus helped us survive. Although we don't have to survive daylie nowadays (even though some still have to, to reference the topic of the song atleast once) we still love patterns. Modern songs are now basically all the same. At least the popular ones you hear on the radio all the time are. And that's the thing. You hear that same song, you know which one. That new one that you didn't like at first but heard everywhere, from driving to work to the shopping mall. And then it got stuck until you were like "eh its bad but not teeeerrible". That! That's your brain loving patterns. Even the songs in themselves have clear repetitions and patterns which are easily predictable, and when that predictment that the brain made comes true (the patterns in the song, notewise and structural) the brain releases dopamin as a reward. That in turn would've helped you to spot an animal faster next time for example. Music makers have the money to put their songs out there. Marketing is expensive and you have to spend millions on an individual instead of just recording an album and looking how that goes. (like it used to be) In an age where everyone can make professional music they have to spend those millions and you can bet they won't take any risks. Which in turn means: Stick to what works! ---> Every song sounds the same. Every song is unoriginal. Your feeling is not just a feeling, its actually how it is.
