    FINALLY a short film where its not about the overweight person or the person who stands out changing who they are. Thats not what we're supposed to do. We shouldn't change who we are, we gotta stand up and be PROUD of who we are.

    Eh. I don’t care what’s goin on in someone’s life, bully’s get no sympathy until they apologize and try to be better. Also, It’s really annoying when movies and shows always make the bully’s home life bad and the one being bullied home life good. Like a bad home life doesn’t excuse behavior. I’ve met terrible people that had good and bad lives. No sympathy until they try to make a difference.

    • @witchykitten
      @witchykitten ปีที่แล้ว +164

      Same thinking here. Why would someone with a sick mum at home become a bully? Where is the sense in that. If anything, she should be more compassionate towards others. Unless she feels so angry about her mum dieing, that she projects that anger at someone else, but that would be kinda really immature and she is not a 5 year old anymore.

    • @МияТакушиева
      @МияТакушиева ปีที่แล้ว +67

      @@witchykitten same here. I also hate the idea that bullied people retaliating makes them “just as bad” as the bullies. Like, that’s just not true. If someone punches you in the face and you punch back, that doesn’t make you as bad as the person who punched you first since context matters. Sure, you can argue that retaliating like this is not “right” but stating that it makes you “just as bad” simply erases the entire context of the situation and implies that the entire thing happens in a void or something.I feel like this just puts the victim in an even worse situation as it puts unnecessary responsibility on their shoulders: “don’t do anything to help yourself or else you will be just as awful as your bullies! Take the abuse with dignity, smile at them and bake them cookies! : )”

    • @heyy.3968
      @heyy.3968 ปีที่แล้ว +31

      I think the message is to show that many people who bully, have experienced “the world” bullying them, leading to them only knowing negativity and unkind things; bullying. I’m not stating bullying is ok/justifiable; it’s always in the “wrong” with no excuses. It often goes unnoticed, making it a “silent killer,” but it’s important to understand that there’s reason behind why someone is a bully; they probably need help.

    This brings me back to my teens, me and my brother grew up with my single mother in the slums after my father abandoned us , fortunately for me and my brother my mother was very religious and showed us so much love, she always told us even as kids to help the needy and elderly, even if we had to protect them , so she sent me and my brother as kids to boxing and martial arts which we continued for thirty five years, the reason I am telling you my past is because at school in the early years 70’s we had a huge bullying problem, even as a kid I understood this , so every lunch time and after school I would wait around for the bully’s and without a second thought I would always dish out beatings , it was the older students picking on the younger ones, after a while the students saw me as a bit of a freak , I never started a fight and never lost one and I don’t condone fighting but ! Sometimes you have to butt in and help the needy… I never forget my mums advice, and still on the lookout for bully’s , I swear on the holy bible what I have said is the whole truth , I love you mum may you rest in peace with god ,

    Let's be honest, the redemption arc only happens in fiction. The problem with bullies is that they believe that what they are doing is not wrong because they have a feeling of superiority over the victim and they believe that, since they are superior, they can treat others however they want. Although in an ideal world it would develop as in this video, the reality is that it is not like that because it seems to be very difficult for people to make self-criticism. It must also be emphasized that not all bullies have a bad situation at home, what's more, the vast majority are like this because they were raised in cradles of gold that has raised their ego more than it should.

      "feeling of *superiority* over the victim". That would make bullying a form of bigotry. We already stigmatize picking on those of a different race, religion, orientation, anatomical gender, gender identity, or disability. All are harmless differences from the norm. Also a harmless difference from the mainstream is being any or even all of the following: weak, timid, unintelligent, socially inept, task incompetent, overweight, or otherwise unaesthetic facial expressions. These are the future's frontier of diversity and inclusion.

But the movie is still a bit stereotypical because Mia and Everly are going through things at home. I am bullied horribly by almost everyone at my school and most people will assume that l have the good life and they have the bad life. However, it's the other way round. This movie proves that life can be so unfair at times and hopefully it will open bullies' eyes to how much they are upsetting someone.

Many people say that they don't care what's going on in the bullies' lives. STOP! Here's the mistake, people! The death of a parent is 10,000X more painful than any pain a bully can give to a student. And child abuse violates the basic human rights that humans have gained since their birth. The bad person doesn’t always represent a good life..and neither does the good person represent a good life. Having a “bad life” is not an excuse to make someone else’s life even more miserable. Everyone in my life who has bullied me is rich, smart, attractive, popular, has lots of friends, and has freedom. And I get in trouble for defending myself.

    That was a beautiful movie, Charlotte was such a nice character, well written and truly kind at heart. She was inspiring really, because I've been bullied and I would never have been that kind to my bullies.
    Also the teachers are always so blind, huh? I might end up being one one day, I'm still in uni but I swear if I notice any bullying behavior I won't let it slide. Nobody deserves to go through this. It ends lives. It ruins lives. I'm still healing and it's been ages. If I can help in anyway, I will. It must end

Oh, never mind, I strongly trust physics but I also trust ethics. I need a way to fuse free will and determinism. This can be done with compatibilism. Everything determined, but you are still morally responsible for your actions.

    I was bullied every day in school and also had bad things going on at home. I never made fun of anyone because I didn't want to cause anyone to feel so ugly and rejected. I had to forgive them all in my heart but the damage is already done. So for anyone who thinks its ok or fun to bully another person just know ,you could be causing someone a lifetime of pain they really don't deserve. You may need them some day for something very important. They are not the ugly one, or the nasty one, or whatever you chose to label them, you are.

      You like it. But what exactly is 'like'? Is it a representation of a slight increase in the average concentration of dopamine? How can something that doesn't directly influence you increase your dopamine? From an evolutionary perspective, we tend to like things that increase the chances of our species' or our own survival. However, this film is a fictional scenario, and whether they stayed as bullies or not doesn't affect the probability of you or humanity dying, they are two completely independent events. So are you saying that you tend to like things that are completely random? The film is just pixels that emit light at such frequencies that you perceive it as something happening. But if the bullies in the film continued bullying charlotte, that would just be a different set of pixels emitting different frequencies of light. There's nothing to suggest that this specific possibility of frequency emission increases the chances of your or humanity's survival, it's not like the pixels are emitting gamma rays. Everything is just confusing at this point and the world is giving me existential crisis nightmares.

    I used to be bullied all the time when I was in high school. Although there are those who have flaws, they are just like us, they have the same wounds that those who bully us can have because of the flaws we have. On the other hand, never laugh at people with defects, because surely they are the first to shake your hand when there are those who do not give it to you just because they hate you.
