Blade Runner, Cyberpunk, and a Very Unique Cocktail! | In The Drink

For a while I've wanted to do something discussing Blade Runner / cyberpunk as a genre but couldn't quite figure it out. Then I found this cocktail, The Deckard by Ezra Star. It is one of the most unique and complex cocktails I've ever had, and I highly recommend everyone to try this should you get the opportunity!
Cyberpunk, stemming largely from Ridley Scott's 1982 film Blade Runner, is all about the ambience, the grime, and socio-economic commentary. The thing that makes it fun to watch or make a video about it the sheer necessity of excess, an approach that very quickly Flanderises the genre, but in a way that is appropriate, should the main themes not be forgotten.
The Deckard - Ezra Star
- 1.5oz Johnny Walker Black Label
- 0.5oz lime juice
- 2oz pineapple juice
- 0.75oz simple syrup
- teaspoon matcha powder
- shake
- fine strain into chilled coupe / martini glass
- garnish with a star anise and a small purple flower
