At age 7, Angelina’s audition on Norway’s Got Talent, was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried. Angelina had turned 8 years old for her next performance on NGT, covering Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. This was the Judge’s cut round of the competition and was not performed in front of an audience. In the Semi Final round of NGT, Angelina sang “Bang Bang” which was written by Sonny Bono and was first performed by his wife Cher but is best known sung by Nancy Sinatra. The improvement in each performance is incredible even though there were only a couple months between them. In the Finals, Angelina did a cover of George Gershwin’s, “Summertime” and won the contest, capturing 46% of the votes from the ten finalists. When asked what she would like to do with the prize money she won (500,000 kroner or about $80,000), Angelina replied, “I want to give it to the poor children”.

About her age. It was remarkable "for her age" until between 10 and 11 where she transitioned to just remarkable. Her work from 11 on has been a progression from remarkably good to great. And she has not reached her peak, whatever that may be. By comparison she performed Bang Bang last summer and it was impossibly good. Mind blowing as you said, Birthday Boy!

You are right The Nancy Sinatra version of this song is in Kill Bill. However the original version was by Cher in 1965. It was a huge hit. Nancy Sinatra recorded her version the following year. It gained new popularity because of the movie. Angelina’s cover is based on the Nancy Sinatra version and I actually prefer Angelina’s performance.
FYI; AJ was 7 when she did her first (and second?) NGT performance and 8 for the rest. Of course many will correct your age statement, just wanted to add a little context, don't wish to pile on which we always seem to do ... sigh. 😉
