So sweet. Congratulations and I hope you get more girls🐣
Us too! we ended up loosing 4 eggs due to a power issue :( our darn cat unplugged the heater so that was very disappointing so we only have 4 of the 8 eggs. We will be getting an incubater for our larger hatches but we wanted to do an experiment with the heating pad and it worked well :) (minus the cat)
Thank you for uploading this! We are trying the same thing with the same heating plate! We just lost our beautiful rooster yesterday… 😔 we think a G.H. Owl got him… but! We will have fertilized eggs for the next 12 or so days, so here’s hoping!
Good luck with the hatch!!! We found the plate worked well as a use what you have option, but wasn't as precise as an incubator would be, give them patience as we did find the hatch time on a few were extended to day 22-24. Sorry to hear about your roo 😞 never easy loosing one suddenly.
I have a broody that left her eggs...I have 2 that are viable...im going to try the heat plate. They are on day 18.... I noticed that when they were hatching you had a wet paper towel ? Can you please let me know how you kept the shells from getting dried out as they were hatching. Thank you :)
Good luck with taking over the hatch! Let us know how it goes.
I had wet paper towel under to help with humidity increase around the eggs but I also put a small bowl of water under there too. It seemed to work for the eggs we were able to hatch. I didn't have a reader to see what the levels were but if you have one it might help as you will want to try to create 60 to 70 percent.
I'll definitely let you know...what day did you add the wet paper towel ?
Hi, great work, i am trying the same here.
did you had a tempeture meter under it?
how hot was it underneed?
