Everywhere now days scam going on in every field. In that case, i would have changed the hotel as already I m ready to pay more. Then why to pay them!! There are more hotels that might be good and pay them only. 😌
I suffered same in sohra . I really disappoint it's my first visit to North East state and such experience I got. I travelled many other places like goa but on such location I don't get experience like that. Really disappointment .
I have, of course, reported them to Booking dot com (btw, just realized why your comment disappeared-it’s because you probably put a link in the comment. TH-cam doesn’t like that). I don’t want to pick a fight with the hotel. I just want people to be aware of the scam so they tread the path of online booking for cheap hotels carefully
Really sorry to hear about this especially because it's in our State but I think this happens everywhere , it's just that it becomes even more sad if there are first time visitors who are visiting to explore the place but just because of such scammers they're visit will just be the first and last 🥺🥺 without knowing that there are good people out there in our beautiful state . Hope anyone who sees this will still come to shillong and experience the beauty that surrounds us.
That’s right. Scammers are everywhere and I have seen much worse scams in other places. I absolutely love Meghalaya, so much so that I’m now living in Shillong in my own rented room 😀

Let you know most of the hotel in shillong run by non tribal and most of them from wbengal and bangladeshi busssiness men. Local people will never do like this.we are welcome each and every tourist.

They lie to khasi people in many bessness and some end up get arrested because it too much. So be extra careful to come her even khasi people now a day they follow bad habits. Hotels flourished because of their customers. But if they treated crookedly to the ones who gives them bread and butter, they are depriving themselves from blessings. Customers won't suffer they will suffer in the long run.....

I provided the reason why I don’t want to name the hotel. If someone thinks it’s not valid, they can experience it for themselves. I did my part to make people aware 🤷🏻♂️🙂
People do advance booking because they don’t want to waste time looking for a hotel after reaching their destination. So asking the customer to pay more than what they originally booked for is unethical and a breach of contract. At 8:30pm at night I won’t go hotel hunting and I’m forced to pay them more. That’s a scam
You should atleast look for someone who doesn't take torist for granted....and us in 'Happyhills Shillong' ...we guide them for better experience....please everyone if you need someone to take you guide you hea in Shillong Meghalaya...we are hea

Which hotel sir it's happened like that if you have any problem again with you or your friends go to police station or call HYC, KSU, HANM , etc they will come to lockdown thah Hotel
I'm telling you guys never ever book the hotel through OYO it's a scammed one of the OYO employee told me himself that when you book the hotel and you use some discount code and the price becomes less and it doesn't satisfy the price tag of that particular hotel the manager they lies about it not having the room available or any other excuses to not give you the room because they aren't satisfied by the price you booked
Maybe that is the non khasi people who did that lot of hotel of SHILLONG are not the khasi hotel. That y maybe they take advantage on you....you should ahow the name of the hotel so that evey people know it

Me and my friends got sacmmed today in the new year 1 st jan of 2023 of about 6200 rupees which is our hard money the person took our money and went off in thin air such a disgusting place and awful people I will never come here

Your walking at the G.S.Road Shillong. Prestigious hotels will not cheat. Youcan go to the Police Station and file an FIR....to teach them the lesson.
