I came across some supposed information that wasn't included in this show. It was said that Arnold the step dad had come across a hidden crawl space upstairs in one of the rooms. He was too big to fit through so he had his oldest step daughter Mary go in and she supposedly found the remains of a dead person. But according to the info they never reported it to the police and later claimed it completely disappeared on it's own.

I think Jonathan Carver was the ghost trying to tell anyone he could that he showed the Pattersons where the deeds were and they stole them taking claim to all his land. Or someone stole them and he was pissed that his kids were too weak to fight for the deeds to keep the land in their family. Great mystery. I wish they could of solved it….

    • @DragonToothlessTwitch
      @DragonToothlessTwitch 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

Weirdly enough, Jonathan Carver never made such claims while he was alive, verbally or in writing. Only his descendants and their agents tried to make that claim after his death, which was dismissed by all parties involved (British Crown, US Congress, and the Sioux tribes), including the Sioux tribes the heirs claimed had signed the deeds, who said no Sioux leaders existed at that point in time by the names the heirs were giving, as the heirs were trying to sell that land to folks who wanted to settle in the region.

The main reason people were avoiding it wasn't ghosts or the creepy vibe. Most people knew it by it's actual name Lamont Mansion, and it's location was surrounded by cottages rather than actual homes, so most folks who didn't live in the nearby town community year round, only came for a few weeks in the summer to visit their cottages at the lake where the mansion sat.
Local teens (both before and after all this) would frequently hang out there as it was a gathering place for late night partying.

Is exactly how I felt as the 9 year old. I did not want to live in this particular house we had rented. My Mom did the same, decorated the place to make it cozy. I still hated it. I was right, the house was haunted. Things started to go missing. We were all arguing blaming each other. Lights went on and off. Black shadows, whispers, growling hissing, breathing , a terrible smell. We did end up moving out. Threw our things in boxes literally and got out of there.

It's pretty amazing what the mansion looked like in real life before it burnt down. I mean i know they used a different house in A Haunting, but the real life Summerwind mansion just looked like your average abandoned house.
And to think many people believe that the mansion being struck by lightning was caused by whatever evil force that resided in the mansion and when the mansion did burn down many people believed that said evil force went away with it and others believe that the evil force still roams the land where Summerwind once stood.

It seems to me like these homes somehow locks a new owner's mind and heart on to it. The new owner never listens to anyone about the things that had happened there in the past. The house plays on there feelings of pity.
But I dont believe people who love are weak as the devil always states. I just think that in today's age we dont believe in hauntings. We dont look deeper. We see a house. We look at our finances and we see we can match the cost. Thats when we start to dream of this house in its former glory and life we will have. Thats the way it will get into your head. Its scary but I also believe that its rare. Your just very very unlucky if you find such a place. Real evil should live there for all of this to happen. BUT it may be rare however it does not take away from the actual HELL these victims go through.
I hope Arnold recovered where ever he is. I hope the same for Ginger and her girls. It heart breaking💔

God must now warn the human family of the great peril it has created, of the great calamity that it has set in motion. For within this time, humanity can prepare and can mitigate the consequences of its actions. If it fails to do this, then human civilization will be imperiled everywhere, in every nation. Economies will be ruined. Millions of people will be out of work. Millions of people will have to leave their homelands, which have become barren and uninhabitable. That is why God’s New Revelation for the world must sound this alarm, must give this warning. You have changed the climate of the world. It is [now] changing on its own. It will continue to change. It will produce drought and floods and deprivation. It will ruin the economies of nations that have to deal with the consequences and the events-the calamities that now will be ever more frequent and ever more destructive. It is a time when humanity will have to unite to protect the world and to save itself. God is here giving you the warning, the blessing and the preparation to save yourselves, to save your nation, to save your families and your communities, to save human civilization. You cannot afford to descend into chaos, for that would use up the remainder of the world’s resources, leaving a degree of impoverishment you cannot imagine. The Angelic Assembly that oversees this world has seen this coming. And it is approaching so quickly now, accelerating itself and being further accelerated by humanity’s continuing to contaminate the air, the waters and the soil-setting in motion forces that you do not even fully understand; setting in motion forces of change and upheaval that will work against humanity, that will threaten humanity now. It is the race to save human civilization. It is a race that must be run. It is the calling for human cooperation and unity to face a reality never seen here on the Earth before in the time of human civilization.God knows what is coming. The Assembly knows what is coming if humanity does not prepare. For this has happened countless times in the universe where rare and beautiful worlds such as this are destroyed and ruined by the ignorance of their native population, exploited and plundered and contaminated to a degree where the natural environment begins to decline. You cannot afford this. You must see this. You must face this. You must have the courage, the honesty and the humility to face this. Only a great peril now, only a great tribulation, only a great opportunity for human unity and cooperation, born now of necessity, will call for God to speak to the world again. The hour is late. Humanity has delayed far too long. It is a crisis foreseen by those who are prescient and well informed. Do not think there are any other problems facing humanity that can compete with what We are saying here today. Do not think there is another great need or requirement that surpasses what We are saying here today. It is a great warning. It is upon you. The coastal cities and ports of the world could be flooded in 30 years. The lands will dry out. The crops will fail. There will be human migration on a scale never seen, with great tribulation and conflict arising. It will be an overwhelming situation if humanity does not prepare. It is the most important thing in the world. It will require all of humanity’s resources, talents, skills and cooperation to contend with this and to secure humanity’s future in a world that has now been changed and made more difficult and made more hazardous. It will be the greatest human endeavor in the history of this world. But humanity must unite. It must end its ceaseless conflicts and its destructive competition to collaborate now, or nations will fall like dominoes. And their crisis will be so overwhelming, it will surpass the capacity of humanity to deal with it in the future if humanity cannot and will not prepare. We have spoken of this repeatedly, but the crisis is growing. Escalating, it is.

The power was shut off and they all hurdle around the fire place at night to keep warm. Most people don’t know that a fireplace will suck all the heat out of your house and up the chimney. You need to get an airtight wood burning insert or a door for your fire place so it can’t draw all the air out of your house so fast. An open fireplace burns away the wood much faster and all the heat gets sucked out the chimney. If you ever find yourself in this situation with no power you need to know how to keep your house warm with fire efficiently and safely.

So, he's become unstable, and she does not get medical help, he's become very abusive, and she stays, he's lost his business, they have no money and have to resort to burning furniture when the utilities are turned off. Perhaps 100 or so years ago this may have made sense, either she has the spine of a gummy bear and can't stand up to him or she facilitates his behaviour, if so, perhaps at this point child services should have stepped in. Or perhaps this story was written by a couple of writers who were trying to out do each other with their "no way out" scenarios.

I would bet my money on the writers fancying up the late 60's-early 70's vibes of no way out and conveniently giving the husband the option of an excuse to be a complete 🍆and it makes me wonder if this was a long time brewing before they even moved into the house seeing she did absolutely nada about his apparent increasingly worse condition, if any of this is actually true in the first place that is.
My own family have brewed up stories about the absolute worst people in our family that tormented the wife and kids "to teach em a lesson about who's boss" and they came from the same era.

@@rustyhowe3907Your sheer ignorance and stupidity, like that of some other commentors here, knows no bounds, does it?! This stuff is REAL, and when people find themselves in a situation like this, it is absolutely unfathomable what they will begin to accept as their new normal, yet it happens in so many of these cases. People who move into haunted places often go through a collective personality change as the evil spirits take hold, and those spirits are usually out to destroy life itself; I know these things because this very thing happened to me; we finally left the place and later sold it to a young couple, but we made sure to tell them that the place was haunted; they thought that was really cool, and they moved in, undeterred; a year later, the wife suddenly left the place and filed for divorce; he stayed awhile longer, but it's now abandoned ONCE AGAIN. This evil tears people down and it tears families apart.
You sound just like the stupid idiots who call "The Amityville Horror" a "hoax," too, but let me tell you something I've learned myself, the hard way: whenever you have a place where horrific things like mass murder have occurred in the past, evil spirits, if they weren't already there before and helped cause the tragedies, will often descend onto those places because that kind of history of hatred, violence, murder and terror make them happy; it gives them their power. You're a total fool if you actually believe your own summation of how the Summerwind haunting was a pre-planned hoax to try to make money. I'll tell you one thing for sure....it really IS true...."you just can't fix stupid!" For all of you skeptics and atheists, there will never be enough proof; for those of us who actually know and believe, no further proof is necessary.

Damn....what an IDIOT! CLEARLY, you have never been in a desperate situation like this yourself; previously sane and normal people will often do some pretty bizarre things without even thinking about it. You often see codependency and trauma bonding (and much worse) in cases of extreme hauntings like this one. What you SAY you'd do or what you THINK that YOU would do in a situation like this is rarely, if ever, what you'd actually do if you were in the same situation....it's very easy to sit back, mock and criticize things that you know NOTHING about.
