I do think what Gen did in this eps is right; Aoey seems going too aggresive and throwing herself at Gen, she would be a burden in Gen's mind instead of an equal(?) relationship.
Probably she feels that what Gen is doing is not what she really wants but yes I also think Aoey in the this episode compared to the others is a bit different.
