Every once in a while, I like to double back and re-watch this review. Nothing to say that hasn't already been said about the review itself. I watch it because it's a pretty in-depth review of one of my favorite Transformers toys ever made. I've always loved this thing and never had a problem in the world with it. Armada Prime in general is just one of my favorite incarnations of Optimus, and is #2 on my list of Transformers that I've always wanted to see get the 'Masterpiece' treatment. I would LOVE to see Takara produce an MP Armada Prime, and one reason is because of this review. I think I'd really like to see a redemption of sorts for this guy in the eyes of Spada.
The reason the thing caught on fire was probably because you forgot to unpeg parts of the trailer and the resistance screwed up the motor and thus aught fire.
@@dexterdexter8208 Well, there is the Cyber Key gimmick from Transformers Cybertron/Galaxy Force. Or the electronic lights and sounds in Energon Shockblast and Sixshot for example. Those weren't fire hazards.
The trailer opened by the cab giving off a signal that any remote would give off. So it probably overloaded the signal receptor and caused it to overheat resulting in fire.
@@webdesigner18 I’m gonna transform that trailer once just to get the gun out. But I’m gonna do it outside with a fire extinguisher nearby and pray to God that it doesn’t catch fire
I loved this Optimus and was rather fond of Sparkplug. It was one of my favorite minicons. I also never had any troubles with mine causing any heat at all
No offense dude, but I seriously doubt when the trailer transformed it caught on fire. I had this a figure back when I was a kid. Whatever the trailer transformed, it never caught on fire for me. What most likely happened is you got a defective one. That's what I believe happened.also, I know understand that there is very little articulation when this toy is in super mode, but it's still a good toy to me
Most likely, your version is newer. I think the version that burn his house may had been reissued, given the kind of accident he had probably came out a couple of times (He may be the only one who had his house burned for it, though).
According to what I heard, he got a trouble for the automorph of the trailer. The gears got stuck and the engine overheated. Given the kind of engine for that kind of job (before you ask, I have some knowledge in electric engines), the heat it got was enough to melt the plastic and probably to ignite if a spark surges... like the grinding of a gear, for example.
+Richard Surraco, if i were to go after him today, how would you advise i keep his trailer in shape, autotransform operable and not let him be a living fire risk?

in "pants mode" the side pants actually do peg into the front pants panels. there are small pegs in the side of the front panels, that peg into small holes underneath the side panels

you have to push the legs together in his super mode and then they will stay together, to attach him properly to his base you need to lift the clear plastic bit up where he attaches and you will be able to attach him properly with the grill down
+Baltmatrix, does he actually spontaneously combust into flames if one isn't careful with him? The intent of the trailer being on treads was tied into the series itself and the specific strategy with the line, Armada wanted to get away from nominally real life vehicles where Hasbro and Takara have to pay for licensing from the corporations themselves behind the vehicle modes. The strategy was to apply licensing to the mini cons alone and a few at a time, with the larger figures such as Optimus having that placed situational and case by case. He's distance sensitive as i observed, and can easily be scrambled into switching between all 3 modes at one time (specifically on the trailer) and the wrong signal can be sent between the cab and trailer. So without batteries in, the super modes legs collapse in and it would automatically go back to base mode with it being able to manually fold back in for vehicle mode, good to know. Every single version of him since 1984 was based on a licensed truck of some kind, except for that one and maybe a few others. This one is a long nosed truck cab of made up origin, with the trailer on tank treads because Armada was going for vehicles you would see for military use and some for everyday use
