2D Mario game by Nintendo.
Something about a party and a cake. Peach gets kidnapped...AGAIN! Mario, "that green guy", Yvan, and Wolley (or Bucken-Berry and Ala-Gold.) go on a grand adventure!
Plays like New Super Mario Bros., but has 4-player mode, waggle controls, friggin' Airships, and friggin' YOSHI! New power-ups include the Ice Flower, Propeller Mushroom, and Penguin Suit (think Ice Flower but more awesomer: no sliding on icy surfaces AND rocks in underwater segments). This game's difficulty is ASS!! I ragequit a few times.
For this longplay...playthrough...whatever, I aim for 5 sparkling stars on the file, which is pretty much 100%. Stars are obtained by: clearing the game, clearing all normal levels (I believe Worlds 1-8), getting all Star Coins in Worlds 1-8, getting all Star Coins in World 9, and finding every single exit and taking the Warp Cannons. Sparkling stars are obtained by not spawning the Super Guide. It appears when you lose five times in a stage and the game will offer to complete the stage for you. Super Guide does not appear in World 9. I also abuse the Koopa hop to get 99 Lives (which I REALLY don't need. The game gives you TONS of lives and the game was easier since I already completed it.). Lives lost are either intentional or just plain fails. -_- -

35:39 perfect syncronization of the sound of the brick being broken, that spike ball and the mario jump with the music
I like this longplay, the player is not speeding through the levels like a maniac, takes their time playing through them and does make small mistakes from time to time.
I kinda prefer it that way.

Man I really miss playing this game. I love playing all the time back in 2010! It is more memorable than the Wii U one, but I like the Wii U as well. It's that I lost the Wii one when I moved in and out of New York and back to Florida.
It is good to see the classic 2d games style coming back

This is one of my favorite Super Mario games!
I remember playing this game when I was younger with my older sister when we were still in elementary. So many nostalgic feels come at me when I watch this. She is currently at university while I am going to high school next year.. damn, sometimes it’d be nice to go back in time.

At 1:10:14 I like the Penguin suit. THAT'S a neat idea. Super Mario Bros 3 (My favorite) had a Hammer Bros suit which was the most awesome, but it lacked something...The ability to slide on your belly like a penguin :D Thanks for the upload. Roy Koopa (The one that wears sunglasses) was my favorite mini-boss.
I love how they went back to every Mario game created and incorporated various aspects into this game. I see a lot of new stuff too. Ice power? If the Wii wasn't so expensive and had such a short lifespan, I'd buy one. New consoles are cheaply made and die within a few years. My old NES is nearly 30 and still works perfectly after being cleaned.

As someone who played many Mario games growing up and since, this is fascinating to watch. It contains many elements of the old games (the powerups, Yoshi, goombas etc) with new elements to make it interesting (wall climbing, those big coins). So this is very intersting to watch. Thanks for the upload :)
This game is life. Even tho I have an Xbox 360 and Xbox one. I still play the wii and this game for fucking memories. I still remember when I used to play with my dad and we beat the whole game. We were so happy. Good times man. Wish we can turn back time to the good old days😔😢

Honestly, I think Mario U is better in every regard. It brought back the Mario World style system, where you had a huge map to explore with plenty of secrets and levels

I love Mario but I only played super Mario 1(I think) 2, 3 and super mario world. I feel kind of bad I haven't played any 3d Mario/newer generations of Mario. I'm just so used to the classic style of Mario that everything else doesn't seem "Mario" to me.
You should at least give Super Mario 64 a try as that was a really revolutionary game for the world of gaming in general. And it still holds up as a really fun and challenging adventure.

well thats been a glitch for ever in Mario games people that have been playing since the nes have had tons of years to practice :P to do it you just need to throw the shell and jump right as it bounces
an easier way is to move off screen if you mess up so he respawns but right as he is about to fall off jump on him
