I have a love hate relationship with you and your channel. I love all the new place you add to my bucket list. I hate that I can’t decide which location to visit first. Your videos are truly first class. Thank you.
Great to see Sengigi again. I've spent a mid week there in febr '20. All westerners (werent that many) and me, wondering if we could go back to office once we got home. Nobody could've guessed..... Lombok was still rebuilding after the Earthquake. Great to see it buzzing!
If you have plans to go to Lombok again, try going to the central part of Lombok, more precisely in Mandalika, there are many beautiful beaches such as Selong Belanak Beach, Tanjung Aan Beach, Seger Beach, Mawun Beach, Kuta Beach and Mawi Beach.
if you have time try to visit Kei Island in Maluku, there are many beautiful beaches with blue water and fine white sand, the Mentawai Islands in West Sumatra are also very beautiful, the Mentawai Islands are perfect for surfing, and there is also Sombori Island in Central Sulawesi Island, this is almost similar to palawan in the philippines but maybe not as beautiful as in palawan
@@SideTripLife I can't wait to see the next vlogs, especially the Sumatra series, I am also very grateful to those of you who have visited Indonesia, the videos are very good and the videos will be very helpful when people want to go to that place 😍😍
Gili looked amazing, loved the bike ride to the beach, Lombok is definatly more of the bigger island feel….I see the Koh Chang similarities-such a cool video STL!
For sure got a KC vibe (topography, chill factor, beaches) from N/W areas of Lombok. Down South it's more like Caribbean white sands and turquoise waters (as we'll see next)
Was in Bali in August but never made it to Lombok. Was there back in 2002, 20 years ago. Was not much there in those days. A very different place now. Great video.
Wow what a beautiful place, looks really nice, id love to see more of the food, lunch and dinner specifically, i think its nice to see what kind of food they eat in different places!
Thanks for the comment :) If you look back in my Bali series you'll see me eating everything from Gado-Gado street food, to Nasi Goreng, to my absolute FAV Rendang Sapi Padang (spicy coconut beef)
I quickly made a return (12th) trip to Lombok the moment the local govt announced that international travelers didn't need to perform and produce covid pcr test results back in 2022. The best thing was hotel rates were so unbelievably low that I ended up staying for 5 weeks instead of my usual 2. Stayed in Jeeva Klui for 2 weeks and then Katamaran Resort for another three. Truly it was one of my best post covid vacays. Can't wait to go back there again soon and as always, your vlogs are fantastic! Keep 'em coming!
I went to Lombok a few years ago and planning to go there again. I did stay at the Sheraton in Senggigi and I agree that the beaches in Senggigi and Nipah are beautiful. I did the same viewpoints as you did basically. But South Lombok beaches like Mawun, Kuta (not the crappy one in Bali), Tanjung Aan, and Selong Belanak are better IMO. I did the Gili Islands as day trips from Bali and again from Lombok. Personally I preferred Lombok over Bali. Remember, Gili Islands is actually part of Lombok region
How are you its brent from kitimat ,follow always ,just laughing that you give yourself away as Canadian by calling it a spade (the shovel on the jeep )In all my travels the English the Aussies New Zealand and Canada are the only ones to use hat terminology .Have a safe trip
Hey Brent, note many fellow Canucks also still use 'U' in colour etc and 'S' in place of 'Z' (pronounced 'ZED' eh;) Btw, calling a spade a spade may be Greek to many, at least according to Wiki: "The idiom originates in the classical Greek of Plutarch's Apophthegmata Laconica, and was introduced into the English language in 1542 in Nicolas Udall's translation of the Apophthegmes, where Erasmus had seemingly replaced Plutarch's images of "trough" and "fig" with the more familiar "spade".
$12 cottage is amazing! I like how you rent a bike and just explore the new places you visit. Do they require motorcycle license in small city/town like Lombok?
Hi. internet in hotels is always hit n.miss depending on time of day, how many are using same node etc. Having said that internet on Lombok appears fairly good & fast enough for zoom etc. However, I got a sim card and use it whenever a hotel wifi signal is weak etc (also use it on the beach, wherever). Telkomsel has best coverage. Here's some packages examples: th-cam.com/video/A2edCEJIuGc/w-d-xo.html EDIT TO ADD: I'll be looking at various longer term rental options on Lombok upcoming, stay tuned...
@@SideTripLife Great videos . Your making me go through my entire itinerary again. This time more Lombok heavy with a splash of the Gilli islands. Keep up good work fella.
Few watched my prev vid going diving into that beautiful turquoise blue water. So, any looking in that may like to see, here it is: th-cam.com/video/9wn77A0qhcw/w-d-xo.html
Too far South to register much, thankfully. Thoughts with especially the school kids and families tragically affected by the Cianjur quake yesterday near Jakarta
Hope you weren't caught up in the earthquake there dude. Keep safe, Cheers. And YES, "RAINCOUVER" is living up to its name, here LMFAO🤣😂 homesick yet? hahaha
Yep but I also hear back home there was a super nice, warm n sunny Indian summer all the way to Oct (so now it's payback lol;). Btw, in the past as long as the rain turned to snow in higher elevations and the ski hills were open, i'm good!
Sounds like a GREAT project idea! There's a fantastic UK series on Discovery Channel called 'Vintage Voltage' (have a google to see). My 2 fav electrofits so far have been a Land Rover and MG Midget. Willys electric would be pretty cool too! As much as I LOVE esp classic cars, maintaining avg 2000+ moving parts on a petrol/ICE car, vs 20 moving parts on an electric car is a no brainer. Having said that, we'll need oil/gas for some time to come, so we also need an actual transition plan for both. Btw, any interested, here's my EV vid: th-cam.com/video/zocCznL7CAQ/w-d-xo.html

The hospital is good in Lombok! Scooter crash and broken foot at Kuta Lombok. Beautiful Island though!
In fact, there are many beautiful beaches in Senggigi, but many are hidden and rarely known by outsiders except the people of Lombok.
The Gili's are a fab spot. Lombok looks awesome :)
i also love rideing a bike in senggigi the view from the street down to the beach 😎👍👍
Lombok is my dream place to live

That untouched turquoise water and epic sunsets!! 😍 I’m in!! 😅
If you're still in Lombok you should definitely check out Sekotong oin the South West of lombok. Even. nire stunning beaches and amazing snorkelling,
Thanks for the tips!
This is great, so much more real video than the drone shots a lot of vlogs show. Really helpful for my planning. Excited to go to Lombok

Curious did you like Gili T or Lombok more?
Lombok i love you
How's the internet speed. Could you use video conferencing easily? I'm coming to South East Asia soon & I'm just worried about working from there.

😻😻😻😻
Can you rent electrical bikes there?
Yes but basic e-scooters for local rides, not for around the island. Next vid in South Lombak we'll see some.

Hi there, which month did you visit Lombok and Belitung?
Oct
Tnx,going in March, hopefully not to much rain.@@SideTripLife
❤😊
Can I just ask how long would you recommend staying in Senggigi Lombok?
2 full days is enough?
Many thanks
I was in Senggigi for 2 days 1 night. I think 2 nights/3 days would be better.
Thanks a lot 😊
HOW MUCH WAS THE FLIGHT FROM BANKOK TO?
Please see: th-cam.com/video/A2edCEJIuGc/w-d-xo.html
hmmm...
that’s for sure not how the water looked when i was there - not that blue or bright or clear- it was murky and darker waters due to darker sand
Depends time of year (rainy season murkier etc).South Lombok was crystal clear though: th-cam.com/video/-u2C0ZjfKOM/w-d-xo.html
its pretty empty here I think
Wow
