I'm just blown away with the problem videos I'm seeing on the Vigilante , I've had zero issues with mine . I did go threw the drive train tuning with oils and adding grease on all the gears . Punch at 3 and a 22t pinion . Hopefully all goes well for you . Yes my paint is chipping also , I ordered a clear body 😊
How'd you manage to get a 22t on it? I tried a 23t, but could only get one bolt in the slide. Didn't figure that'd hold. Been stuck using a 20t, thinking that was as big as it'd go.
Don’t worry brother. If the high quality gear retainer continues to give you trouble, I can probably fab something up for you out of a plastic cup from Dollar General
exact thing i was worried about with redcat, drive line plastic housing's etc. they melt over time and its sad they set it up that same way. ive seen a few with the gears stripped
I think all the companies are beginner markets no matter the price point and any fifth scale is not a good beginner truck but sorry that the truck was an issue for you, vidvon is helping the truck, but definitely appreciate your in put
So the point I was trying to make was a beginner fifth scale for a person experienced in smaller scale! I do agree all companies are beginner markets just price points change
@@kgm5512 hmm. Maybe some machined gears themselves? Pretty sure vitavon is going to make the full driveline. This truck interest me more than the xmaxx because of the way it drives and the electronics among other things
Great video! I think the best hope is someone makes upgraded gears! But i dont think the company is gonna do anything! At best send you a new set of powder gears which will end up the something you started with!
Im having the same problem the plastic cap is not keeping the gear down tight and keeps stripping my gears and now the cap broke and redcat doesnt have the part i put vitovon gears in front and rear diffs and they make a motor mount and aluminum gear cover now $100 not cheap but may be my only option and hopefully it fits well and keeps it in tight i love this truck its really the only flaw but its a bad one the rest of the truck is awesome 🤔
Kgm, wut up? Hope u remember me. Anyway my paint is doing the same thing and my rear diff the pinion and ring gear broke twice. The second time I had been in the run only 5min.
The name is familiar boss! Did you do your own dimple port? Maybe? Anyway glad to hear I’m not alone with my problems it’s all back together now so we shall see how the next run goes
YES, YOU REMEMBERED ME! That makes my day man! That dimple was the bomb! I also love my redcat vigilante. Robinson racing should come out with gears. That would be nice!
I here ya they should give these RCs a total bash session over and over before they put out a product I’m finding that happing in a lot of new wave products thanks for sharing your thoughts I’m with ya 110% 🤙🏁🛞👊
Great information brother and thank you for sharing this!! It’s good to have all the information possible!!
Nice wrenching vid. Red Cat come on. Wooo👍always 😊
Thanks crazy dad! I just went to do a catch up on your content it’s all gone! Hope all is well

And yeah, I haven't had any issues with mine either. These videos have me thinking I should order some back-up parts though.
@@HelfersRCI had to slot my motor mount on the top to be able to mesh a 20t
Yes I went through everything as well. Just baffled myself on what the problems are
💭🤔it’s not enough you tube people keeping real so I appreciate your honesty

Thank you. I have no desire to promote BS on my channel. These things all cost a fortune I hate seeing people buy garbage

Clover valley upgrade
imo once venture outside crawlers with redcat your stepping into the unknown i think honestly do try but it never seems to be just enough
I know. I thought this was going to be different and I don’t know why 😂

Vitavon could very well make an aluminum gear cover, you think that would fix it?
It could but I’m not sure how much it would do considering how much of the bearing is actually supported by the main chassis.

I hope there is some sort of option eventually! Thanks Ryan!
Well, that sucks man. I thought maybe redcats stuff got better but maybe not.
Its not just you. My paint is flaking too
@@samb1818 it sucks…you pay decent money and the product doesn’t reflect the price

Also dirt and gravel gets in diffs I believe that's why my diffs stripped replaced with vitovon gears and made gaskets to keep dirt out
It just a frustrating truck in general. I hope redcat makes a revision sometime soon

It’s definitely built tough just needs to get stronger in the drive train
