I agree about Genshin. A lot of people hate it just to hate it. There are a lot you can criticize about it but the one thing Genshin and any of Hoyoverse games good at, it's their music. I prefer Genshin in particular bcs the influence of the region it based on always very obvious and the composer always finds a way to incorporate traditional instruments into the music.
Genshin impact OST is something very different, the use of not only orchestral instruments but also indigenous and folkloric instruments gives it a special and unique characteristic, something that until now has no precedents, you have music from Europe to Africa, from Asia to America (continent) all in one game, a lot of diversity.
Not OST, but genshin recently (like today) released Impact4Music 2024 Short Documentary on their Hoyolab YT channel and I really think it encapsulates the meaning behind genshin's music quite well
Former orchestral cellist and now composer here. Not a knock on every other music here-I even had the honor of performing for a Final Fantasy Distant Worlds concert in my city-but in this day and age, Genshin Impact's music is almost singlehandedly upholding the artistry of music; the final bastion of true musicality if you will(hyperbolic, yes). I've never seen such meticulousness and care put into music as much as theirs in a long time. Then again, just because it's "Chinese", it's "gacha", it's a "mobile game", people will never open their hearts and ears to truly appreciate it. A shame, really.
for the promised consort ost, the theme behind it is 2 phases, the first phase is about the triumphant return of the strongest demi god from death, back in all his former glory. for phase 2, it is about his half little brother who ascended to full godhood to use the godlike power to revive him, he comes to join the fight with the revived older brother, with the goal of tryin to convince the player to stop fighting and just let them take over the world and make it a more peaceful place.
Those Who Fight Further is the name of the FFVII boss battle theme, in both Remake and Rebirth they did a different version of the same motifs for every boss in the game which is why the version you listened to is called the "Midgardsormr ... Theme".
for my part the hoyoverse team puts an incredible amount of effort into genshin, Music but also the setting fitting for the region or character and so many small details ingame
I am also a musician and composer. I’d give Stellar Blade a better chance. It’s more than just a game with a hot lady. What makes its soundtrack so incredible is the diversity of sound in its soundtrack. I’ve never heard more beautifully unique, complex, and different music from any other game in my life. The music is also extremely immersive, and the songs match with the environments and gameplay very well. There are almost all music genres except maybe country and reggae. There is Rock, Experimental, Screamo Metal, Pop, Jazz, Piano Ballads, R&B, hip-hop, Electronic, Dubstep, Orchestral, and EVEN Opera. Personally I think it is the best soundtrack of 2024 games and maybe even in my personal favorite 3 video game soundtracks I’ve ever heard. Atlus also makes great music. That’s the developers of the Persona games and Metaphor Refantazio. Some Nintendo games just have classic nostalgic songs I can’t hate such as Zelda and Mario games too. You listened to only one song and that doesn’t do the soundtrack justice at all. I personally like the song you listened to, but judging it off one song isn’t right. The one you listened to is more of the epic pop song people like. I also love these songs: Hypertube, Raven, Democrawler, Abbadon, Star Decent, the Song of Destiny, Wasteland, Oasis, and Silent Street. Most of these songs are other genres and I respect the writers and developers commitment to making new, interesting, different, and complex music in the OST. Many people see that this game is a little extreme in the visuals of its characters and physics, but that leads many of them to want to brush it off as incapable of making good music and having fun gameplay. It’s not true. This game may have questionable visual art/graphics, but that doesn’t mean it can’t have incredible art in other aspects.
the lord of frenzied flame, frenzy: a temporary madness in a rage amounting to a frenzy b : a violent mental or emotional agitation the story behind this boss, is that Midra(the boss) was the closest to inheriting the power of the frenzied flame, which is the personification of rage and anguish and spiteful violence, his lover told him that in order to prevent the destruction of the world, the only way to keep the flame at bay was to endure eternal pain to keep him fully aware and awake. eventually he could not stand the pain, so he broke free of his binds and let the flames of madness take over his body. this fight is about him letting those emotions run wild and free after so many centuries of suppression, he accepts the flame and decides to burn it all down, and the player has to put a stop to that, it is a very hard fight lol
@ Warriors in Valour & Warriors in Arms, You Face Louis Guiabern, Face of the Palace, King Of Destruction, Prelude To A Heroic Tale and Royal Capital Grand Trad are my favorites 🙏🙏🙏
Abbadon as well, I haven't played the game, but this one appeared on my recommended on Spotify and I haven't stopped hearing it since, it's just so cool, I like electronic, dubstep, rock? Type , the beeeaatt
Yo missed persona 3 reload for me is The OST of The year , and Bloomtown another history , but i agree with FFVII from The nomines it should win The award Nobuo Uematsu is one of The master composser of videogames history
I actually reacted to the full P3R soundtrack earlier this year, although yeah, I could've include one or two for our guest, but since he's a contemporary composer I wanted to take advantage of his taste and knowledge in orchestra formats.
I agree about Genshin.

Final Fantasy Soundtracks are always award winning. Absolute masterclass compositions.

That was a pretty solid review, thank you.
I may have to do a whole video about for Stellar Blade alone 🤔

@@Jhulian_R that ost (Metaphor) is one of the best of this year and a strong candidate to win best score and OSt in the game awards.
Elder Naytiba is the best track from the Stellar Blade soundtrack by far!
Stellar Blade's ost is soooo good, would like to see you react to more songs of that amazing game.
@GrimOfLight Which songs?

I agree, you can’t judge the music off of Everglow alone. There are so many different and wonderful sounds in Stellar Blade.
Genshin isn't a KID game
Hoped to see Arknights during the stream XD
I mean... My previous video was a 2 hour reaction to Arknights alone 🤣
But, maybe a couple of songs wouldn't have hurt 🤔
@ that’s fair XD
u could've used a final fantasy 16 track like Bahamut or phoenix's theme
But FF XVI is from 2023, I reacted to those themes a year ago (Bahamut's is wild indeed 😱)
@Jhulian_R ohh, I see. but yh ff16 has some of if not the best music in all of videogames imo, just spectacular 👨🍳🤌

Dudes didnt get to listen to the full theme of jenova emergent
No FF14? Disappointed
Did they release new music this year? Which songs? 🤔
Metaphor easily wins.
