All 15 Banana Bird Locations - Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! 103% Walkthrough

- This shows how to get all 15 Banana Birds in the SNES version of Donkey Kong Country 3. Most of the Banana Birds are found in caves. To free them you'll need to play a Simon Says game. The number of notes in the Simon Says games will gradually increase as you successfully complete them with the 1st cave having 4 notes & the last having 9 notes. The order in which the notes play are random so they will be different in your game than they are in this video.
The Gyrocopter is required in order to access 3 of the Banana Birds (see the video linked below for help getting the Gyrocopter).
Northern Kremisphere Overworld (7 Banana Birds):
#1 Bounty Beach (0:00): Found on the little beach to the right of Funky's.
#2 Hill-Top Hoard (0:25): Found at the top right-most point of the map.
#3 K's Kache (0:54): Near the top left of the map are some clouds. Near these clouds is a large island which is where the cave is located.
#4 Undercover Cove (1:23): Found on a beach on the left edge of the screen & to the far left of Cotton-Top Cove (also, beneath the cave from #3).
#5 Kong Cave (1:52): Found on a beach to the left of Cotton-Top Cove & to the right of a waterfall (also, just south of #4).
#6 Belcha's Burrow (2:19): Found at the very bottom of the screen directly south of #5.
#10 (6:54): At some point late in the game there will be a red flower (a Flupperius Petallus Pongus) that grows to the right of Bramble's Bungalow. Grab it then take it to Bramble for the Banana Bird. As far as when the flower appears, the internet says it's after beating Razor Ridge, however, that alone doesn't seem to be enough. As you can see in the video the flower isn't there until after I get Banana Bird #9 so the amount of Banana Birds you have found may play a part in making the flower grow as well.
Lake Orangatanga (2 Banana Birds):
#7 (2:47): Before going to Lake O., go to Bazaar's General Store to the left of Funky's & buy the shell for 5 Bear Coins. Now go to Barnacle's Island in Lake O & trade him the shell for a Banana Bird.
#8 Smuggler's Cove (4:00): Swim underneath the top bridge & then to the beach to find this cave.
Kremwood Forest (1 Banana Bird):
#9 Arich's Hoard (4:29): The 1st thing you must do to get this Banana Bird is to beat Brash's record on Riverside Race. After doing so, head up to Brash's Cabin where, upon finding you beat his time, will pitch a fit. This will cause a log to flow downstream giving you access to the cave where the Banana Bird is found.
Cotton-Top Cove (1 Banana Bird):
#11 Bounty Bay (7:34): Found in the wall directly north from where you enter Cotton-Top Cove.
K3 (1 Banana Bird):
#12 Glacial Grotto (8:09): Go to the level called "Lemguin Lunge" then press up to go to Blizzard's Basecamp. From here press left to open the cave where the Banana Bird is.
Mekanos (1 Banana Bird):
#13 Sky-High Secret (8:52): First head to Blizzard's Basecamp in K3 by pressing up when on the level called "Lemguin Lunge". Talk to Blizzard & he'll ask that you give Blue a present. Give Blue in Cotton-Top Cove the present & he'll give you the bowling ball that was inside. Take the bowling ball to Bazooka's Barrack's & he'll shoot you out of a cannon & up to the cave.
Razor Ridge (1 Banana Bird):
#14 Clifftop Cache (11:09): Head to Bazaar's General Store & buy the mirror for 50 Bear Coins (if you already gave the mirror to Baffle in KAOS Kore you'll have to buy it back from him for 10 Bear Coins). Give the mirror to Barter (who is found to the immediate left of K3) & he'll give you a No. 6 wrench. Take the wrench to Bjorn in Razor Ridge then ride his chairlift over to the cave.
KAOS Kore (1 Banana Bird):
#15 Sewer Stockpile (13:15): Swim in a figure 8 pattern (in either direction) around the 2 rocks in the lake to open the sewer.

The best way is if you forget the banana bird codes in those caves record them on your phone and try to copy it off your phone and then go to the caves and watch the codes on your phone and pause every time where the colors light up and press the buttons on your system

#12 got me, was wandering around for like an hour trying to make sure I didn't leave a cave uncleared somewhere.
In the GBA version, one of the secret caves (idk which one) is replaced by a new one in Pacifica. It's hidden just above the area's boss flag. The cave is called Whirlpool Wreck.
Hey thanks for the guide series, its been immensely helpful. I've always loved the Donkey Kong Country trilogy but I never fully completed (101%, 102%, and 103%) any of the games until this week when I went on the journey of doing that for all three. Not really a fan of how this game has the big back-and-forth to cryptic cave locations you showed here to get all the banana birds, I've remembered most of these through having played the game so many times before but there were still a good few I didn't know until I saw your video here. I'm glad I can now say I fully completed all the DKC games. I know this one can technically be completed 105% through use of the hard mode code, but I would rather not do that lol

well thanks. ive finally completed dkc 3 in 2022. LoLs

Doin was finally able to beat the game after 2 days thanks to finding number 12. However, because I didn't save my game before I got the last bird, I'm stuck with only having 63% of the game complete. So now every time I try to save my game after having all of the birds, it takes me to a cut scene making it be that my game Will technically never be completed
You completed the game (as in you got 103%), but because you didn't save at all during that last 40% you're file is stuck at 63%? That doesn't seem right. I would think it would automatically save after getting the cutscene. Have you tried continuing with the game (even if that means having to redo that last 40%) & then getting the cutscene again to see if it saves your progress anyway?
I love how that sewer stockpile wont open for me,i have played this game before and knew how to do it so i had to come here to see if i was doing something wrong,nope,guess ill just keep swimming, might open one of these days, ha ha ha ha
You have to hold the Y to swim around quicker.

Cave 15 does not work for me 😭😭. I swim and swim in the 8 pattern and nothing happens. I already have the other 14 birds. Is there something else I should know??

I have a question. I just started DKC 3 on Nintendo Switch Online. I understand that I can visit the Bird Queen once I have the Gyrocopter, and she will explain what is by that point my very last objective. However, I want to complete the non-Gyrocopter birds in the main playthrough, as I believe that once I beat K. Roolenstein in KAOS Kore, I lose all my hard-earned Bear Coins. I have completed Orangatanga without rescuing a single one because logically Dixie and Kiddy should not yet know about them. I’ve entered and exited Wrinkly’s cave several times in the hopes that she would make a remark about the birds even when there are no birds in her cave, but it seems that even she doesn’t tell me anything. Do I really have to just “know” about the birds? Or should I just get the one from Barnacle and then go visit Wrinkly to have her ask for more birds?
So let me get this straight, you don't want to start collecting the Banana Birds because Dixie & Kiddy wouldn't have any way of knowing about their existence before they actually found one? That seems like such an unnecessarily absurd way to play this game. By that logic you shouldn't even be playing the game because logically there's no way that 2 chimps could be intelligent enough to do the things they do in the game.
If you absolutely insist on playing the game that way then sure you could wait until you "learn" about them from Barnacle or you could understand that many people play this game without knowing about the Banana Birds' existence who then accidentally stumble upon them by simply being curious & exploring parts of the map that seem almost too inconspicuous. Dixie & Kiddy are curious chimps & they are supposed to be controlled by a curious human. So be curious & explore the maps until you "accidentally" stumble on a Banana Bird Cave.
Really though, I highly recommend you stop playing video games like that. Video Games are meant to be played for fun & the way you seem to be trying to play it sounds more like torture. If you're not going to have fun playing the game then you'd be better off doing something else. Or at the very least play a video game where the point is for you as the player to use logic & critical thinking skills in order to beat it. Something like Murder at Masquerade Manor where you need to use deduction & logic to solve a mystery or any of the many wonderful puzzle platforming games that exist.

It took a recent massage parlor track to actually make me remember these parts of the game after forgetting about them after 20 years or so.
So a friend and myself are playing this on the Nintendo Switches and for some reason didn't registered us getting the bowling from Blue Bear after getting the present from Blizzard bear so we can't get that sky high banana bird, any suggestions on what can we do to get that cave? Now that we already got the present from Blizzard Bear and gave to Blue but no Bowling ball.
So you tried going to Mekanos & talking to Bazooka Bear & it won't let you give the Bowling Ball to him? Did you try talking to Blizzard & Blue again to see if that would do anything?
@@EmptyGarbageCan Correct, we went back to blizzard bear and blue bear and somehow the game forgot we have the bowling ball since it longer shows up on our inventory list when we save at Wrinkly save cave. So we're not even sure how to get true ending at this point. Thank you for your response!

Number 15 was cryptic. What clue was there for it?
I don't know if there is an in-game clue. I think it's just something you're supposed to be tempted into doing just because there are 2 rocks there.
@@EmptyGarbageCan, actually, I just found out that there is/are clue(s). 1) I think there is a cave each in the 7 worlds, I think. 2) The mirror that is used to give to one of the bears, you have to go back and get the mirror again after you spoke with another bear that was talking about a code he can't decipher. The mirror would help him decipher the code, which is written backwards saying "The two rocks at the gate, do a figure of eight." or something like that.
Man, I'm so dumb to not have tried these things.

@@stripedrajang3571 If you needed to do that in order to even open the cave I would have included it, but because it's completely optional it would only make my video longer unnecessarily. As such I think it's better I left it out of the video.
A couple of these are completely absurd.. has anyone actually found all of these without looking em up? The one in the waterfall & the first stage have absolutely no indication.
