Is it a bug? I assumed it was deliberate, that because of her shut-in nature even the slightest hint of a complement would lead her to assume you were trying to court her.
@@RetconRaider Her blushing after asking Valen if he had a “shred of fellow” with her is a bit of an awkward progression of dialogue because her question doesn’t really imply asking if Valen loves her, since the tone of the question is more distant than friendly. But, I can see how an overactive imagination from trying to speak politely without offense to someone with power and influence could make her quickly imagine how the question could be misinterpreted as a romantic one, and immediately apologize as a result. Coupled with how her blushing starts on a new page of text, as if the game pulled from a different dialogue tree, that may be why people think it might be a bug, because it’s not a very logical train of thought. Perhaps this could be improved by combining the blushing with the question text, interrupting the end of her question as if she realizes what she could be implying in her question, but too late to not say it. Or, they could give a bit more text to emphasize her thinking on what she just said, then realizing the possible implications from it.
Both Cassia and Abby are fantastic viewpoints into Imperial society. They dont even think there's anything wrong with putting down rebellions and ripping vocal cords like that. I love this grimdark stuff.
I try to do a dedicated burst of episodes for most new series, before going back to a more varied rotation. With RT, I planned a two week dedicated period which we're just coming up on the end of. I'll be working BG3 back into the mix on Friday. :)
I'll probably dabble at least a little with the three main prospects, but I'd say Cassia's probably got the best shot. Nightmare fuel aside, she's pretty adorable. :)
16:12 A cute interaction. I do find it slightly amusing there is not a single woman the RT can romance that would be perfectly kosher in Imperial society. A mutant, a criminal or a Xeno would be a hard pill for many to swallow. Luckily you're the Rogue Trader and if they don't like it there's nothing they can really do about it.
I learned something very f****** new about this game. Playing the Beta when you don't go to a certain area and a certain time. the A. I start to learn new dialogue
is there some option to respect companions and rebuild them from level 1? To reallocate the Idira's bonus and stuff like that. I remember using console commands and a multiclassing mod to reset Grobnar in Neverwinter Nights 2 into something that isnt arrowbait
Sadly, no. It was briefly possible in the prelaunch build, but in the launch build each NPC is "locked" to a set build up to a certain level based on when you got them. With characters like Abby and Idira you can take them all the way back to Level 3 or so, but in some cases its much higher. The companions you get in Act 2, for example, are preset up to Level 15.
@@RetconRaider wow that sounds extra annoying and silly. This sounds like a job for modders, and another reason for me to not buy the game for anywhere close to full price. "Mods will fix it" practices should not be supported
@@texteel I mean, to be fair, its a deliberate design decision. They did the same thing with the Pathfinder CRPGs - essentially, the "locked" levels are supposed to be representative of the companions background. I appreciate the narrative intent, but at the same time, yeah, not being able to completely control their builds is annoying. (Though the game *does* have more than its fair share of bugs and balance issues in later chapters. Hopefully they'll get those fixed up before I reach them.)
@@RetconRaider then they should hide the option to completely respec characters behind an approval system. This quest seemed a bit off to me. It happens before you get the replacement crew, so there you are down thousands of crew, and Abby's about to massacre a bunch more. Seems sub-optimal.
To be fair, Danrock does stress that the crew that needs replacing is trained upper deck crew. Abby specifies that these are "easily replaced" lower deck laborers. Gross, but consistent with the general prevailing attitudes of the Imperium. Honestly, I'm surprised he didn't just suggest we grab all the troublemakers and turn them into maintenance servitors. :P
I do agree Owlcat has really gotten down the character writing. I like pretty much everyone and find all of them interesting which I didn't expect at all. Tbf I don't know anything about Ulfar or Marazhai beyond what said in pre release information but I doubt they'll be badly written or anything.
Flirt with Cassia. Do it. Go full Han Solo, get the princess!
Pretty sure he got the same bug a number of other youtubers have where they've already begun her courtship.

You are the only person other than me who says tertiary. Thank you for that.
Three now.
30:20 Cassia talking like Idira while describing her - amazing attention to detail!
We said, "Oh, she's adorable" at the same time, Retcon!! 😂😂
I could say, Valen is a natural with his charisma. As expected of the former crime lord who turned a whole solar system into his den of thieves 😂
Youre so much faster with this than you were with all the Pathfinder and Baldurs Gate 3 videos

Unfortunate this was fun that Cassia Romance section was adorable
And we are loving it

Will Valen court any of his companions this playthrough? Does he have an eye for a particular one?

Such strike with RT, where is Pathfinder and BG3? :)
BG3 will be working back into the rotation on Friday. Might be a little longer for PF, since I want to wrap up JA3 first. :)
30:26 I think you should explore this dialogue again when you fill out the team more. I'd be very curious to hear what she says about the others.
Probably my favorite series since Wasteland 3
