My family built a cabin as well recently. We had a similarly negative experience. We were overcharged for materials, the time until completion was underestimated dramatically, the builders were flighty, the hired help was inconsistent and insufficiently sized, etc. Luckily, there were a few straight-shooters on the team who helped us out tremendously. There were some issues with the house that we had to sort out ourselves, but what’s important is that we are here and the place is standing.
