There’s a certain political demographic that greatly exaggerates the situation, here, and I agree it’s looking a lot better than during the height of the pandemic crisis. The opioid epidemic combined with all the lower paying restaurant and service jobs lost due to lockdown, yeah…that’s a recipe for a houseless crisis. West coast weather brings them, too. Commercial propert/offices are cheap now because so many people moved to remote work. I came here in ‘95, so I’ve seen it get a lot more spread out & crowded. Traffic can be baaaad, depending on the time & direction of your commute. Bottom line? If I move out it will be because of the 8 months of grey skies, not crime. Seriously , the grey gets crazy making for some of us, by about the fifth month. 🤪 I think Portlanders were spoiled by so many years of hardly any typical urban challenges. We don’t really have any problems that any larger city doesn’t have. And more populated places like Chicago, NY, LA, have more. I still think Portland has way more positives than negatives, for sure!
I love Portland. I hope the homeless problem gets attention and action towards improvement
Me too🙏🏻😊
every city has homeless now....
sad but very true, even red states have it at a much higher level
It’s not a houselessness problem. It’s a drug and mental health problem, particular to the east side, on the daily.
16:19 that’s not Vancouver WA. Vancouver Canada maybe but definitely not Vancouver Washington.
Not in the rich areas. If you live in Lake Oswego, The west hills, Bethany, rock creek, and west Lynn you won’t see homeless.
there is definitely less homeless but in downtown Lake Oswego there's homeless, not a lot but you see them.
Porland is great, homeless are in all cities
Not like Portland though. Portland need a new make over..

yup agree, and the grey can get to me as well. My goal is to take a few trips more Jan-March to break it up.
