framer is absolutely gorgeous. have you looked into the Framer-shop options? seems to be their almost-shopify solution. It's integrated/limited to Stripe, and likely wont see the robust options that shopify provides, but might be a good fit for what you're looking to do. Priced right too. note: I haven't used it, but last couple weeks have been researching this same topic. I'm absolutely in love with Framer capabilities, but hoping to figure out some light e-comm options with it as well.
couldn't agree with your more David, Framer is a really inviting platform and does feel like the future! last several weeks i've been (seemingly endlessly) researching DIY web options to refresh one of our web pages, and of allll the options out there, Framer has really flipped a switch with my creativity and haven't been this excited about building a website in a while. Whether you start a new channel for Framer or add more content to this channel, I think it's a great idea for you regardless. Think a lot of folks would find value in variety of Framer how-to vids.

One thing for sure....there is no "hands down " best website builder...they all have clear downsides that will put off a section of potential users
