Thank you, Ronyell! It's a bit of an acquired taste, but if you go in with the mindset that it's a silly, fun franchise that shifts dramatically once it hits #4, that will help.
Awesome review and outfit Alyssa, I do this franchise has overstayed it's welcome but this first instalment is one of the best and Michele Rodriguez plays my favourite character here!
Thanks, Harry! The franchise has definitely been going for a lot longer than a quarter of a mile haha. Yeah, I like Letty a lot once she starts to get flushed out in the later movies!
I've only seen the first two movies in this franchise, and can't remember half of what happened in the second one. This one is at least memorable in its 2000-ness (?), plus I was all of 14 years old when this movie came out, so car wallpapers for your very own Compaq Presario with Windows 97 was a must. Oh, the good ol' days... As for my favorite long-running franchise... c'mon! xDDD
Oh wow, surprised you haven't seen the later ones. They get pretty crazy haha. Hmm, oh right. I forgot how much you love all those Madagascar sequels...
I didn't like this film when I originally saw it, but I've come to respect and enjoy it in the context of how far the franchise has come since. The self-seriousness of this film does hurt some of the enjoyment for me, but I do enjoy the action in this still and the building blocks for the Dom/Brian friendship which became a mainstay for the franchise. Also, it cracks me up that the main heist was stealing high-dollar DVD players. Yep, definitely a 2001 movie.
DVD players to saving the world in only a few movies! It took me a bit to get into the movie too the first time I saw it, but it's just some good, stupid action fun haha.
1. I have seen them all at least 10 times and I love them for the diversity, values and characters (MY MAN HAN!!!)...I'm not a car guy😅 2. I'd say the Fast and Furious and Pirates of the Caribbean come first to me and MCU, DCEU if one can include them too...Harry Potter is also there (but I'm a JOHNNY DEPP FAN first) and I've been trying to get on the LOTR train since the last year, but I haven't gotten the chance to watch them yet...
I probably prefer this movie over the later ones mostly due to its simplicity, although I enjoyed most of them despite its over the top nature, I especially enjoyed Fast Five. There's a specific charm in the first movie, and you can see deep character connections between Dom and Brian, even though it's basically Point Break with cars. 2 Fast 2 Furious didn't do much for me mostly because they didn't raise the stakes in it. And the CGI...yeah, they look like early 2000's.
Yeah, this one is definitely a bit of an outlier in the franchise for it's simplicity. And even though it left itself open for a sequel (or 9), I think it's pretty good as a self-contained story.
The film hasn’t aged as well As far as, the CGI, shaky cam when showcased the killing scenes, dialogue especially from sub characters are hit or miss. The Cultural impact sub car division culture, oh it definitely stayed its welcome. Storytelling here from Paul walker mission to try towards taken down street racers was entertaining.
Happy twenty-one anniversary to the Fast Saga! The Fast and the Furious was reprised into F9! The Fast and the Furious has been taken the Toretto family from the beginning of the first movie 🎥🍿 and this prequel movie 🎥🍿 between The Toretto Brothers and the brothers are Dom and Jakob and also their father Jack Toretto and also their family friend to the family and their family friend is Buddy! Jack told Jakob to tamper his car because their father wants the clear his debt and throws out a race against their enemy Kenny Linder!
There is no prequel movie, so I don't know what you're talking about. Also, this review is for the first film, not the 9th which has its own review and comment section. But we've come to realize you're just a strangely programmed bot, so I don't know why I'm even bothering to reply at this point.
I totally 💯 misunderstood about the prequel and that is not prequel movies! This is the first movie! The first movie and the ninth movie combined together! I am not a bot 🤖 ever! I am misunderstanding person and I will have to make this right!

I honestly haven't seen the first Fast and Furious movie. I think it's time that I start watching the whole franchise down the line! Awesome review!

Forever the most badass racing movie of all time! 🔥 but now they are secret agents. 😆
Back when they actually still raced haha. Yeah, doing car wheelies to redirecting missiles with their bare hands in half a dozen movies 😆
Never Was About Racing That Was A Subplot

It's one of those franchises that has a surprising amount of character development once you look past all the crazy stunts and shallow aspects.

Great Review
Thank you.
My favorite long running franchise is Harry Potter.
Good one! Are you counting Fantastic Beasts as part of that or just the 8 HP movies?
@@MainelyMovies I am counting Fantastic Beasts too. The whole world is enchanting,
Have Them On Dvd
Favorite long running Franchise well that has to be Star Trek Franchise.
Nice! Counting the reboot movies as part of that too?
@@MainelyMovies Yep

Yeah, there are certainly some cons to this one. I still manage to have a lot of fun with it though!
Favorite Franchise Is Mission Impossible
Nice, that's another good one that gets more and more crazy as the franchise goes on.
@@MainelyMovies Yes It Does

Says the bot that uses the same emojis with specific words every single time those words pop up in its script 😂
