The best song system that played in Jamaica and Waterhouse, is King Tubbys. His sound was crowned by the people, not liked someone just called Jammys King. I remembered when Jammys a played a little house sound, living near to St,Patrick Primary school in those. I been living in Waterhouse from in 1960s, and only King Tubbys was running the place as the leading sound. You useto have one and two little house sound system in Waterhouse in those days, I know a little soul set.Useto named Stylistic on Huston Ave,at that Jammys was around. King Tubbys who started to make dubplates,Jammy learned trade by King Tubbys. I know that Jammys and King Tubbys did have a big problem after a while, King Tubbys was the best in .I was telling my cousins that I know when Jammys living on Drumalie Ave,before she checked.Duke Reid was long before Jamaica, Duke Hamilton, there was a lot of sound long before Jammys. My aunt living in Waterhouse from 1951,and went there in 1960s. I know all the Black Uruh group from boys days, all the singers he is talking about I know all of them. I know him before him moved to St Lucia Road ,I useto go down there. I know Wayne Smith from a boy,I been to several anniversary at his studio.

I did some recordings at Harry J. This was a very important studio at Roosevelt Ave. my engineer was Sylvan Morris. He gave me the nickname “Crash Cymbal.” The voice booth had a wood floor which produced a mysteriously special sound.
I was in the Dance in Birmingham when Scorpio Mash up king jammys with The Burial tune John Holt..then Papa San finally came on the mic, King jammys begged him not to chat on Scorpio but he ignored his plea then I was all over San killed all king jammys DJ DEAD. One of the best Sound clash in my life.

Unofficially, dancehall was the first (credit to the Big 3 - Duke Reid The Trojan, King Edwards The Giant & Coxsone Downbeat). Competition amongst the big 3 led to many innovations in Jamaica's music, including the formation of Reggae. I want to add that if you listen carefully to the music, in the early 2000 don carleone, stephen magregor and vybz kartel change the sound that was there before. Hence why we have every artiste now sounding like kartel. I personally think there should be a change in the name of the genre after the 2000 because of the drastic change in the beat and also the content more so the pushing of the boundry to no boundries. What song came first ? Under Me Sleng Teng by Wayne Smith voiced @ Jammys or Under Me Fat Ting by Anthony Red Rose voiced @ King Tubbys ? Both studios in Waterhouse & Both riddims were played by Noel Davey. Sleng Teng is a preset in the Casio MT40 Keyboard. All Noel Davey had to do play the chords over the preset. Yes Wayne Smith helped Noel to FIND back the preset & suggested they both go down to Jammys with it & Jammys simply SLOWED down the tempo which is the knob above the fill in button & added synth percussion. The drum roll is created when you press the Synchro/fill on the keyboard. I have that same Casio keyboard here in my room right now. Everything was recorded down to quarter inch at Jammys because he never had a 2 inch set up there. More props & credit should've been given to Noel Davey as NONE was given to him on the Greensleeves label who pressed & distributed THAT record featuring Dance Gate by Micheal Buckley on the flip side.
