I've been following k-pop for a looonnnng time and it's the same, alarming pattern. This and the fact that they are getting older so they might want to distance from media and pursue "normal" lives, which is more than okay.

I just found out about the websites, TH-cam’s & extra content that kpop artists put out. I now realize why their fan base is so deeply loyal & love them- they know them & feel connected. These idols give years of their life to live in a fishbowl existence with everyone watching & assessing but also living an amazing dream that they are so dedicated to. It’s really quite impressive & I truly respect them for their dedication & love.

I think that one of the things that has moulded their humble character as a group is the fact that when they debuted the whole industry treated them so bad that BigHit decided to protect BTS from it and that's why content like Run BTS was created, so we could have the members doing all kind of stuff, but without going to actual variety shows. This means that the guys have been living in more or less a bubble where only them, their company and Army exist, so whenever they've had to interact with other people outside of this bubble they always get surprised by the reactions the rest of the world have about them. I'm not saying they don't know how popular they are, I just mean that until a couple of years ago they weren't used at being around so many people that tried to get their attention and that's why they keep being so down to earth. P.S. Namjoon and Jimin did appear on the actual TV news making dalgona, the news channel took a clip from their Vlive. 😆
