How fun! I was unfamiliar with watercolor powders, so I googled and one of the things I found was your 2015 video on the subject. 😄 Eager to give some of these ideas a try.
What fun cards! Nice inspiration, and I may have to look for those nuvo powders when I am at the scrapbook expo next month! God granted my prayers today and although I seem to have gotten myself into a position of leading the planning effort for our church 30 year celebration, that I really don’t have time for, he did listen and gave me a day of no meetings and an understanding boss who granted my last minute pto request. So I may yet get a chance to try some of your techniques today. I will say that I did a brusho underwater background in July for world watercolor month and it was hard, and came out way too dark. But first I have to finish breakfast and then figure out how I can hand letter a baptisimal certificate when I am no good at calligraphy. Will do my best, neatest, “fake” handwriting and that will have to do. Lord please make my hand steady!
Loved this demo. Truly. I played around with Ken Oliver’s original colors a while ago but they were so “uncontrollable” I gave up. Your work inspires me to try again and be more creative. I agree that CP’s new color burst collaboration with Ken are primary colors whereas his originals are a much more softer diversity of colors lending to more natural compositions. Perhaps CP will expand if people purchase these. But I do believe more demonstrations are needed or most rubber stampers will sadly set them aside for lack of ability. So anyway thanks sandy and please do some more experimenting “from a real artists expertise” for us wanna be’s!!
Wow, I never knew there were Watercolor POWDERS!!! I’m really intrigued. Thanks for sharing Sandy. Loved everyone of your final products. Amazingly creative.
Beautiful display of different ways to use the pigments! I love all the watercolor pigments, therefore I have all brands including Magenta Stamp Company (Canada) Nuance. I am quite partial to Nuvo as well although its harder to find.
Thanks so much Sandy! I struggle with all my powders and color bursts, trying to get anything more than just a full colorful panel. Your techniques and results are fabulous.
Like using powder dyes & trying to control them is the first thing that came to my mind. And the other ones are like mica's. These would definitely test my patients..lol
I love colorburst they are so magical! I have many colors but some of my powders have hardened up in the bottle I guess due to the humidity where I live! Any suggestions on how to loosen them up to get them to come out again? Hate to buy new ones and happen again! Thanks Sandy
Love these cards! I can envision use a stamp first then using the powders to make free form "out of the box" coloring. One question - since you seem to have a lot of different sized cards, do you make your own envelopes and how? TFS
Thanks for all you do to inspire Sandy. It is appreciated! I have to get mine out of hiding and see what I can create. Blessings!
FABULOUS TECHNIQUES AND AMAZING RESULTS! WHAT FUN!

How do you stick your paper to the metal surface?
A little atg tape
What is the black plastic base Sandy uses in her watercolor videos?
It’s a Craft Assistant-a12x12 Black metal magnetic plate. Awesome to clean up. salln.net/2k0HYin
