I think you see it more often than you realize but the two mics are usually tied to the same mic stand so the presentation is less 'dramatic' when employed and is being controlled by board ops off stage instead of being controlled dynamically by the performer with each arm. you see a lot of guitar players singing into double-mic stands for different effects but with guitar in hand they obviously lack the ability to double-fist it and go akimbo style

The clean mic for the verses had reverb and delay. The chorus mic had a TC helicon with a harmonization setting.
