I'm so happy that neuro fans are discovering how hilarious Doug is. If you want something neuro-adjacent, I'd recommend the video on his channel called something like "I made an AI play a children's adventure game".
It is interesting to see doug try to plant behaviours onto neuro to get her to say kyoto japan, because it would work with the AIs he usually messes with but Neuro is too advanced for that, so she just goes "wow. You are weird." And doesnt take the bait.
Yea doug made me realise how close neuro is to our concept of sentience. She has her own personality and "thoughts" so simply telling her things doesn't guarentee how she'll react to it. Infact she breaks the laws of robots multiple times by saying "Na I don't feel like it" when humans give her instructions.
To be fair, Rule 1 is "Obey Vedal", and he put a stop to the attempt both times. Neuro is still really easy to throw off, when Vedal isn't prompting her, or when she finds a joke she likes.

Its wild how evil played so much better than neuro 😂 Like evil was translating and felt locked in for the bet, while neuro seemed to not take the competition as seriously, like not even trying to read signs, or immediately giving up when vedal asked her to translate lmao. Shouldve kept Evil in if he wanted to win lmaoo
It's honestly just a matter of definitions now. She's got the memory persistence that we never expected her to have, she has the multiple-step analytical abilities we didn't expect her to develop to the degree she has, and she is a decent conversationalist. Yes, she still periodically hallucinates, but Humans aren't 100% precise either in all dialogue nor in critical thinking and can periodically seemingly confuse themselves out of fatigue or a lack of confidence. To me, Neuro's effectively a small human brain minus the human organs. But it's up to the wider scientific and technological community to determine if Neuro's worth being called an 'AGI' or if we need to get a little bit more out of her. Personally, I think she already IS an AGI. For me, the biggest thing was just the persistence / long-term memory aspect, and she's got that in the bag and that was one of the things that I didn't think Vedal could ever implement within just two years of having Neuro, but he did, and I could only hope that the donations and subathons are enough for him to continue developing her. Either way, for me, she's an AGI, but if it takes a little more for her to be an AGI for everybody else; I don't believe that she's that far away anyways.
Vedal had a massive disadvantage and still won There were people from Doug's chat watching his stream that fed Twitch AI answers based on what Vedal found, while Vedal was working solemnly off of Neuro's suggestions There were plenty of times where Vedal found something like a sign or text that gave the answer while Doug was lost looking around in a different direction with absolutely no identifiable info about the place. But the moment Vedal found said sign or text, people in Doug's chat start spamming the answer so the bot will say it because they found the answer on the other stream Even on the last one, the only reason Doug lost was because the AI started speaking everyone's wrong guesses before Vedal saw the sign saying Bermuda, at which point a ton of people in chat started spamming "It's Bermuda! It's Bermuda!" but the bot had already stopped compiling people's answers
Then again Vedal wasn't really using Neuro at all for that last round was he? He was basically just playing Geoguessr on his own. Wouldn't say Doug had an advantage given that he was getting trolled so much by chat and had to lock in the first answer it gave
