Note: The ear pads can be removed, and the headphones support USB playback when connected to a PC or phone (including using the mic over USB)! You can even be paired wirelessly and wired and switch between sources!

Momentum 4 are the best in 2023 in wireless headphones. Nothing could beat it. To have a more balanced sound put eqaulizer to Flat
Regarding Anc - Its nearly good as Xm4 but my home is silent and don’t wanna use Anc
However I encountered a problem. It made my ears warm very fast. Sadly I didn’t find any earpad replacements on the internet as these earpads are glued to a plastic frame and comes out like what apple did with Airpods Max
Sadly i had to return it. So if this didn’t made your ears warm. Go for it 💯 percent

I have the Bose NC700 and I find they are a bit sharp for my ears. I tried the Sennheisers in the store and was blown away at the clarity, thump and detail and I could turn them up with no sharpness to the sound. Needless to say I ordered a set on the Black Friday sale and they should be here tomorrow. Can’t wait. I do have to say though, the Bose headphones feel more premium. The ear cups of the Sennheisers just look a bit cheap/plain/plasticy. At least the headband looks nice. I like the fact that the ear cups on the NC700 are one piece and the band is metal with all of the joints looking very flush and clean. It’s a smart design. The NC700 also have great noise cancellation and I love the multifunction noise cancelling button on the left ear cup. It’s just a shame about the audio quality. Oh well, Sennheiser wins it for me on sound quality alone.

    Dear TechTuber
right now, I’ve just own 3 different pairs of in-ear "TWS Earbuds".
Now I‘m looking for overear bluetooth headphones. I’ve stumbled upon Your channel and am impressed and glad, did I have the opportunity to watch Your video.
Most of all, I‘ve watched reviews about the ANC-King "Sony WH-1000XM5" and it’s predecessor the …XM4.
In the first 3/4 of Your video, You‘ve convinced me, of the quality of the Momentum 4, up until the sentence regarding the "mediocre" ANC-Quality.
To be honest, I am SSD= Single Side Deaf, which means I just hear with my right ear, that’s why it’s IMPERATIVE that the headphone I‘ll buy IS ABLE TO WORK IN MONO.
I mean I need a headphone, where I can TURN OFF THE LEFT SIDE COMPLETELY.
Do You know that something even exists? Or is the solution in the cell phone settings, to switch to mono?
Last question, You didn’t say anything about the volume.
    Greetings from Switzerland 🇨🇭

Thanks for the video! The one thing I did not quite get was how the wired connection works via USB-C. Is that sending the audio via the cable? Does it work like the B&W PX7 (and PX7 S2) where the headphones contain their own DAC and turn the unit into a hi-Rez capable device?
On the B&W units, this capacity utterly transforms the sound quality. How do these compare?

From past experiences I've always found burn-in loosens up the drivers a little and alters the sound. As a result, I always do it no matter the cost of the audio product.
It's not nonsense, but rather physics - if the drivers have never moved before, opening them up will help them move air in a way they've never done in their lifetime (of course when brand new).
Often I'll give them a quick listen, then burn-in , then listen gain, and then I can even tell minor differences - thus 'getting used to them' doesn't even apply to my methodology (but yes, for most consumers there's a degree of that too!)

Great review! I tried the Technics EAH-A800 (didn't hear the reverb effect you were talking about maybe it is just in your sample?). I didn't like about technics is bass response, it doesn't get very low actually less lower than Bose NC 700. I am guessing Sennheiser M4 are better? (by what you said in the video).

      Glad you liked the review!
Surprised by the lack of bass response you found on the A800, and further how you find the NC700 to actually be better in that department. It's very much the opposite for me.
Nonetheless, yes as mentioned the M4 are in my opinion, more competent than both in delivering that low end, which is surprising given they're Sennheiser headphones!
As for the codec, I do notice less nuances and 'clarity' in my music when using aptX Vs LDAC, but that's when I'm comparing A/B with the same hardware (ie headphones). I'd not get the Technics over these purely for codec sake - hope that makes sense?

I appreciate your review and it was helpful for me, but I would like to give some constructive feedback!
At a bunch of moments you say stuff like "the battery life was really long because I was burning them in for a long period of time"
I don't really understand what you mean with burning in, and from other reviews I understood that the headphones turn themselves off if they don't detect being on someone's head, so was it really depleting?
Also "countless hours" is super vague and I think if you timed it that would make it sound much more professional! Same with the charging speed. 1 to 2 hours is a difference of 100%! I'd rather you mention the spec that the manufacturer lists if you can't test it yourself than such a vague number, that kinda makes it sound like you didn't really check.
Don't take this the wrong way because I really appreciate your review and have been looking for a wireless headset after being disappointed by the Sony XM5s, so your review was helpful!
The XM5s had really disappointing sound stage and muffled high notes for me, sounded like the music was coming right from the middle of my brain instead of from around me like with the wired Sennheisers I'm used to, so it seems like these wireless Sennheiser ones might be up my alley also!

Another great and informative review. I have liked the video and previously subscribed. Just to clarify a few things please. When you mention in the video about Sennheiser working on improving an aspect of the headphone, were you referring to the touch sensitivity of the right earcup or being able to have better customisation of what the touch controls can do? Also, when you talk about there being no off switch for noise cancellation, does that centre setting in the app make you feel like the NC is still somewhat in effect or off entirely? Last question, how is the cabin pressure when the NC is on a medium setting? I was debating between these and the Technics, but these seem to win on audio alone. Thanks again.

    • @TotallydubbedHD
      @TotallydubbedHD 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Thanks buddy, glad you liked the review!
So, the customisation is in relation to the touch controls (ie disabling or changing the functions)
-I feel there's somewhat will NC enabled in its middle setting, but it's a little hard to tell
-No issues in terms of pressure for my ears, even at max NC - remember the NC isn't as strong/effective as some of its competitors
-I'd personally pick these over the Technics

Great and well-featured review, mate! I'm starting to think I'm in the wrong market place, though. Or my criteria are too much.
On the lookout for a pair of wireless headphones, in hopes they sound better than the typical gaming headset (but working well for gaming), and may well see perfect fit for music as well. Want to use them at the apartment, and with them being convenient enough to carry outside. Last thing would be for them to have extended range, whenever one may walk around the apartment with them on. A bonus would be an unique design of the headphone.
Any chance you could toss me some contenders close to this criteria, Totallydubbed? Perhaps the move is invest is a typical gaming headset, and then a headphone for any use except gaming. Though I'd like to think headphones offer a better sounding experience, even versus their wireless counterparts, and that's what i'm all for.

    • @TotallydubbedHD
      @TotallydubbedHD ปีที่แล้ว +1

I simply want something wireless that I can conveniently use both for gaming, and outside. I've tried too many ordinary Bluetooth headphones to be disappointed, however I found KZ's AptxHD cable to work very well, even if it's not perfect it's a massively better product than any TWS buds I've ever had.. For overears or onears, guess it depends. I hate that manufacturers squeeze cheap hardware into already mediocre headphones making them worse, even on products above 100€. Melomania 1+ were the worst offender, hyped by many reviewers but absolute dogshit in reality, especially against my CCA C10 plus AptxHD cable for half the cost..

Biggest issues with my current solution is slight hissing in the background (luckily unnoticeable when playing music), hard to press buttons and the mediocre earhooks, but in return I have buds with 5 drivers per side, on the fly cable switching and aptX HD, which seems rare in buds for some reason. @@TotallydubbedHD I agree with you about that.
      I just noticed something though.
Listening to lossless audio (like from apple lossless or tidal) through a usb c (or lightning) dongle sounds exactly like
listening by streaming audio from lossless track (like apple lossless) to bluetooth aac (aptx) which also sounds exactly like
listening to a lossy codec (like aac from apple music) using a usb c (or lightning) dongle.
All 3 sound slightly better (almost unnoticeable) than streaming from a lossy (like aac) to bluetooth aac (or aptx).
That's probably because, in the latter, the original track got compressed TWICE before you listen to it, and in the former 2, the audio is only compressed once (which is still undistinguishable from the original source by double abx testing).
