Brooke is much better and more well suited as the antagonist. She doesn't look or act like a heroine. Brad Bell should've realized that and kept her in the bad girl role. And if he couldn't keep Taylor on the show, then he should've made Macy the heroine of B&B.
How do you suggest this happens? Macy and Brooke interested in the same man again? For example Macy and Ridge? Or having Brooke interested in Thorne again and coming between Thorne/Macy?
@@marn25they could have made it happen the way it actually _was_ happening when Macy was randomly kiIIed off again. The show was building up a rivalry between Brooke and Macy that was personal, not romantic. Brooke had just taken over Macy's family business. Macy was married to Deacon who is Hope's father. And it was _working._ They could have been enemies for years to come.
@@annieo6527 Yes, I loved that interaction between Brooke/Macy and a couple of scenes with Amber too, although Macy was petty and vindictive, (after the final and permanent end with Thorne) I did enjoy her and she was quite entertaining. And because she was like this, I could also enjoy Brooke better for answering back to her, they fed each other. Perhaps if she hadn't been killed, she would have gone back to her nicer heroine status like her early years.
@@marn25 I still don't know what to make of Macy's character change during that time because she was kiIIed off before her motivations were fully explained. She was a Good Girl heroine until her breakup with Thorne, then almost started drinking, and then immediately diverted all her energy into being Deacon's fairy godmother/avenger. Even though when the time comes, you and I will probably have different interpretations and side with different characters, I agree with you that Brooke and Macy did feed into each other's worst sides, and it made for quite an intense and entertaining rivalry which in my opinion should have lasted longer.
@@annieo6527 Although I don't remember and haven't seen all the episodes about Macy's return and will now watch some for the first time, I tend to agree that in her re appearance in Italy and her return to US, she was a Good girl until the break up with Thorne where she diverts all her energy to Deacon and his children. Yes, the Brooke/Macy rivalry could and should have lasted longer. It is very entertaining to watch and I found many comedic elements in them, which is fascinating as these characters have also lived the ultimate drama in the crash. Exactly! Brooke always views romance as competition and the problem with Taylor being dead is there's no challenge for Brooke if she goes after Ridge. But Stephanie has now added that crucial component to the mix.
It's a small detail, but I find it really nice how CJ _already knows_ about Mark's existence, and who his mother is, and talks about it like it's perfectly naturaI. I get that Massimo and Stephanie are cautious. The last time Taylor "died" and they had a funeral for Taylor (April 1994), Ridge was ready to move on with his blond ex in July and married her in Sept. 1994. We already have Brooke again putting herself into Ridge's orbit, supporting her grieving "friend. 🤔 But still, Ridge has just buried his wife, Massimo. 😅Give Ridge some space and let him grief and don't make him worry about Brooke. Neither Brooke nor Ridge like to be told what to do or treated like a child. When Jack tried to send Brooke away in front of Ridge, Ridge then had to assure her that she can stay.
Stephanie saw Brooke coming a mile away. She knew what Taylor's death meant to Brooke. Brooke was already revving to go for Ridge. She was alresdy thinking she was gonna be Mrs. Ridge Forrester yet again. Brooke says all she wants to do is offer Ridge her friendship. Yeah she also wants to offer Ridge what is between her legs, that's all she offers, nothing else. Stephanie is right. Brooke needs to stay away from Ridge and give him some time to grieve but no I want to be Ridge's wife. What about the children? Brooke really thinks Taylor's children will accept her in their life and as Ridge's wife. Why would Thomas and the twins accept a woman who openly pursued their father abd trued to destroy their family.
