Look at the waves coming from the horizon - churning relentlessly. Beautiful, scary: I am a landlubber at heart but can not stop watching the sea in all of its changing conditions.
All you would hear is the engine and the people in the wheelhouse. You wouldn't hear anything outside. The music was cool. Most videos music ruins it. I don't believe that to be the case in this one

I can certainly relate to this excellent video footage. In my years at sea I have spent many hours on watch on the bridge in similar conditions often at night alone with my thoughts. 💖

I am ready to buy tickets from Ushuaia to the South Shetlands and back but I want a guarantee that the sea conditions will be like this or worse. The worse the better. Those tickets aren’t cheap and I want to experience the Drake in all its glory.

@@bakuspb5339 для начала Панамский канал к проливу Дрейка ни коем образом не относится. Пересекали мы пролив Дрейка от и до и не вдоль, а поперёк. А шторма самые опасные и запоминающиеся были в тихом океане вблизи островов Комодо, в Бискае и в северном море.

When we crossed the Drake Passage it was rough seas. At first I thought it was fun but after a few hours I was ready for the sea to calm down. Ha ha. Thanks for posting

A softer, much less windy ride surfing down the waves. Still a challenge, but most sailors do what they can to take the Southern Ocean downwind if they can. I’m sure as soon as the ship in the. Idea cleared Drake’s Passage, it turned north to find calmer conditions.
