Jacks is freaking hilarious! He's looking out the window just like a little kid. LOL I'm living my nomadic life, vicariously through you, Eric. You make really great videos! Hope you start to make money through TH-cam, too!
I don't know why so many people give this guy a hard time. I mean if you watch his video's and find it entertaining and want to give him a few dollars that's your business. To say someone is a bum because they make videos and get a few dollars from it means every person you ever see on rv or at the movies is a bum. In fact, that would make all the people on TH-cam who monetize their channels bums. I guess the world is full of haters. I got 3 more years of work before I retire and I plan on selling everything and buying a rv and traveling around the states for a few years. So, I watch a lot of rv videos some are better done than others but I like watching all kinds of videos from professionally done to the raw ones anybody throws up.
Cool video that I haven't watched b4..now youtube is giving me every old video of yours to watch..lol..don't mind me being so nosey...🤪🤪🤪🤣🤣🤣 I'm having fun and learning stuff too..lol
I don't know if you will be doing much RV Park camping, but Passport America has been a decent deal for us. Costs maybe $50 per year, but you get 1/2 off at some rv parks. So you can make up the initial cost after using it 3 or 4 times.
I really enjoy your happy attitude and hope you stay positive. Jax is a great cat and I like the way you guys talk to each other. I also have a tabby that I talk to and he comes when I call him. Keep your chin up my friend and god bless.
Dude, you are awesome. You respond to a lot of comments on your videos, something I've barely see anyone do, at least with 1000+ subscribers. Also, you inspired me to want to live in an RV. Not just that, a smaller one, not a giant one! I really want to live in an RV now.... anyways, keep up the great work with videos, and take care
watching your videos makes me want to get an rv so bad.i watch all your videos.take care, enjoy your campsite.looks so peaceful.Jax is so adorable by the way
Eric, great videos!!! I have lots of questions/comments. I am a police officer (way over here in OHIO). I have been looking at RVs for a few months now. What size motor does your RV have? fuel MPG? Does your Tioga have an awning? Ever thought of doing a vinyl wrap on your rig and you could put your NF logo on it (that would look pretty cool eh?)? Anyways, a few tips, as a LEO, anytime you see an officer, you should ask them where some cheap/free/safe spots are to park/camp, if there are any restrictions/laws for parking your rv in any given area. I have stopped and have been stopped (friendly stops) by a few RV/Campers in my career, and most are great people. I always enjoy giving out camping tips to travelers that I have come across. Now for my LEO tips. Most the time, parking an rv like yours is no big deal, until someone complains. Most of the time someone will call in and complain about an RV parked in a residential neighborhood and we respond to check. This is where you would get a "chalk mark" on your tire. Basically, you get a chalk mark, and depending on the local laws, an officer will check back on the rv after a given time frame and impound the vehicle. So, as a general rule of thumb, (at least here in OHIO), don't park withing 5 feet of a driveway, don't park more than 12 inches from the curb and you should be in good shape. Another thing I have seen in your video, was that it was against the law to "live fulltime" in your RV. I have never heard of this law (in OHIO) and don't think many LEO would give 2 $h*ts if someone was living in their RV (obvioulsy this would be different if they are dumping the tanks on the street or creating other problems). So nothing to worry about. One last thing, you had a video about a mall security officer going through your RV storage. That is total BS and if you decided to sue them, they would have to re-name the mall to the NF-Mall. Anyways, happy travels to you, I enjoy the videos and if you decide to head east, far east, to lets say OHIO, hit me up, and lets tip a cold one back!!!
You got it made dude! On a different subject, I bought a rollup stick-on solar panel for my Lance 815 truck camper. It is only 68 watt, but seems to supply all my electric needs for heater fan an lights. I did install led lights that use a lot less battery. I have a 1kw Honda generator, but have not needed it to keep my batteries charged. I have not had the camper out when real cold yet since I put the panel on, when the heater fan is running a lot, but I think it's going to be ok. BTW, I connected the solar charge controller into the refrigerator wiring, and it works fine with the 5 or so charging amps the panel puts out. Maybe with a bigger panel hooking into the refrigerator wiring would not be a good idea, but in my case, it works great. A lot less work to install. The reason I mention this is that in another video you said you run your generator 2 hours a day...Jim
I may have missed some detail your reported in the video Eric. In the docking price you also have included the possibility to use hot water showers, toilets and the cleaning area for dishes? Just to know. Thank you.
You know that if you empty the black tank then fill it with a pitcher of ice and then drive around a bit (pref on bumpy roads and then ree fill it and empty it. It will get all the stuff stuck o the bottom of the tank.
Eric I have always had RV fridges, even older models, that flip to electric as soon as you hook up and revert to Lp gas as soon as you unplug. How come you have to do it manually?
In the UK we have this thing about the weather and the weatherman. If the Weatherman gets it wrong we say must be Michael Fish. Michael Fish was a weatherman in the 80s early 90s who once said in the 80s we would have a nice sunny day. We had winds that blew the roofs of buildings and I'me not joking. The building across the road from my school got blown off and landed in the middle of the road. Incredibly no one got hurt.
I have to agree with a previous poster that Passport America is a great deal. I did a quick search and although the Olympia site isn't part of the network, the site in Elma works out to be $15.50 per night. Current cost to join is $44. The wife and I became life members at $400 but we have nearly recouped the cost in one year. Saved a fortune on a trip to Florida for a wedding that we had to attend. Oh, and keep the vids coming!
Curious how you got a post office box? Ours require proof of a permanent local address to rent one. You also stated RV parks are expensive. What all do they provide something for that cost?
Is this a good place to flush out your black tank? Does it need flushing, maybe with a hose? -You seem to keep your spirits up with this set up you have and I hope it continues for you both. Best Wishes to ya!
Eric, I don't know if anyone has told you about PassportAmerica.com but as a member you can get RV park stays for half price in over 1700 RV parks and Campgrounds. Also as a Good Sam member you can get a discount on fuel at Pilot and Flying J truckstops. Worth looking into.
When you hook up to the outside water spigot, you can turn off the valve that will fill up your fresh water tank and just supply the water heater, kitchen sink, shower, and bathroom sink. Some RV have outside showers so you supply that also. I wouldn't want to fill up the fresh water tank if you have access to fresh water from a park. No need to haul that extra weight of water in your tank while driving. Now, if you plan to stay where there is no water hookup, then I would fill the fresh water tank. And before you leave the park, dump your grey water and black water holding tanks. No need to haul that extra weight while traveling. I hope that helps. Hope you get your RV and join the family of traveling and see the country.
I am spending my first night in a local state park. First time to hook up at an electric box. Not hooking up to water as I'm only planning on staying one night. The other thing is it's a Sunday night and I have the whole place to myself. I had to move from where I'd been staying because they will be paving this next week. I was really nervous about but the staff have been great. Plus I get to sleep in my bed that is level right now! At my son's house the RV leaned to one side. And I have 2 dogs. I enjoy your videos, make all you want. FWIW, I have a 1998 Minnie Winnie 31 ft. and a slide that I haven't used yet.
Jax is so super cute with his cries. I'm so impressed you have taught him to walk on a leash! All of mine would just look at me like "you must be joking..." If I tried that.
So when you stay in the city, do you stay in one place for like 5-6 days, or you have to drive to a different spot every night? That eats up gas! I guess in Washington its easier to find a spot where trees would conceal the RV or nobody complains if you're there for days?
7:45 or so - pressure regulator needs to be on the spigot end of your hose. High pressure spike could pop your hose. Oh, buford bingham said this already - darn it. I guess I'm supposed to read the posts before attempting to add something.
Don't think your a pain for making a ton of videos, it's actually great to log on and see activity. It shows that you have the interest at the least. One suggestion though: maybe have a subtle annotation that let's viewers jump ahead to the point of interest. For example on this video, say someone was interested in just the camping portion, clicks the annotation, loves the content, gets a thumb up and a subscribe. Just a thought. :) Good stuff!
Eric i still work stay in this area Olympia is beautiful I'm sorry for all the homeless people 93rd case it sucks that there's no longer free camping in the Olympia area
Hey there. My name is Anthony and I'm actually thinking of moving up to Olympia. I went to visit about a month ago and I fell I love with Olympia. It really made me feel at home. Met some great people and explored a little bit around. My question to you is how hard is it to find a job up there? And I would be staying at a friends house but I'm thinking of buying an rv as well sometime later. How is life living in an rv
LOL Jacks driving...very funny! Nice campground. I pay rent of $550.00 ($140.00 utilities) for thirty days at the camp ground it would be $350.00...so you are ahead of me even in the Camp.
I know this video is getting whiskers on it, but I thought I'd clue you on a couple a things when you hook up at an rv park or a friends house. You always pull your entire power cord out of the rv, even if you don't need the length. This prevents the cord from laying in your stow and heating up. Its probably not a problem in WA in march, but its a good practice to get into. I have even coiled it up outside, and with the air goin, coffee maker, microwave, etc, it caught fire where it was coiled. And your water. That's exactly how you hook it up, but you need to put a 17$ pressure reg at the hydrant. I went thru 3 of those cheap Walmart safe drinking water hoses before I figured it out. Luckily the hoses burst, but the next week link is your toilet. If it blows, your rig turns into a swimming pool, until you open the door. You may have already started these practices, but just in case you haven't.Buford
Being stored inside doesn't cause the heat. Using air conditioning, microwave and coffee maker at the same time on a 30AMP plug or if you used a house plug adapter is what caused the fire. Too much current flowing through for the cord causing heat, then fire. Watts=Volts X Amps. 1000W micro at 120 volts is 8.3 Amps. The roof AC uses between 11-14 amps. So on a 30amp plug you have exceeded the limits. There must have been an issue with the breaker on the pedestal if you were plugged in at a RV park, or worse, plugged into a outlet on the side of your house with a reducer. SAFETY NOTE FOR EVERYONE: If you are using and adapter and plugging into a house outlet, you can only charge your battery and run a couple DC lights. THATS IT on 15AMP breaker.
Hi Eric. I just have a question about funding your adventure.. Are you sponsored or how do you afford your expeditions? ..don't mean to be personal.. just looking into doing that for my retirement.. Thanks Bob/Okc
It's OK. I earn untaxed income from google as a partner (the ads you see before my videos) and I now have patreon for supporting artists. Keeps me moving. :)
I kept looking through your vids and found your explanation.. CONGRATULATIONS if you are happy with your occupation and all.. More power to ya for using your brain instead of your back. I did 28 years in Education, here in Oklahoma and got my position eliminated last year due to politic in our state. I didn't have a Teaching Certificate so they had no other jobs available at my level, so I just got cut loose. I heard ya clearly when talking about "not fair". Anyway, I had a retirement to jump to so I took it. I am looking for other duties that can help with the bills but not cost me my freedom or my health.. I like watching your vids and best of luck with continued success. My best to Jax too. Bob/Okc
I don't mind campgrounds like that .I like state parks & such. But not so much on resorts. You know, you might be able to find some fulltimers there for your interviews. If they have a bulletin board, it might be worth it to post something next time there?
Well bummer...guess it's just the wrong time of year for all this. But it's a great idea for future interviews. Maybe make up & leave business cards at the front desk or some type of pamphlet with your contact info for future purposes? You do good interview vids!
That was a great video! Thanks for that information!

If you're leveled, fridge is ok. Just for safety, get a power surge and a tester for electrical because sometimes current is not exactly what it should be in rv parks, protecting your appliances from too low or too high voltage is always a good thing to have in mind. For sewer, check this: www.campingworld.com/shopping/item/foam-rubber-sewer-seal/4496 No screwing around... Perfect fit all the time... for 4 $.
Hey! You're cruising around my old stomping ground! Maybe I'm crazy but you sure look familiar...get down to Auburn very often? This is your first video I've watched, clicked it on a whim, gonna sub though!
love Wa..spent my whole life there till I was seriously hurt at work and the moral of that story.. get a lawyer! ended up having to leave and move to Ne but miss my island terribly.. Wa weather is easy.. mostly/partly cloudy chance of rain
oh I forgot u can dump dive for most things food clothes don't be to picky and have fun doing it also take a trip to the dump anything can be recycled or made into art
Nomadic Fanatic You got a good deal dude. I search all over the south trying to find something similar and most the rigs under $4K were in a lot rougher shape.
I cant believe its $30^ a night. I could live in motels for cheaper. Or apt. Rental. Im looking into rv life to save money. Where I live lot fees cost more than a really nice apt. I thought it would be cheaper. On hot days does your cat atay in rv? I have a dog & wondering how I keep him from dying in rv while im at work.
So got a ?? for you. How did you get a USPS P.O. box when one of the requirements is that you have a street address in the zip code. this brings up other ?? like drivers license, voting extra.
Only $33.00 a night, and you get water, sewer and electricity? Wow...that's sounds like a bargain. I'd be tempted to stay a LOT longer. Noticed lots of flowering trees and bushes as you drove through town. We've got some timid crocuses and snowbells venturing above ground. Wishing you and Jax the best! (:
Jax loves the live it's got. It's because it's the only life he knows being RV'ing out of the litter like he has. Also, since the RV is so contained he has grown up needing you for companionship and entertainment. Ferrel cats have no such needs and have completely different personalities. Cats, to be very personable, need to be raised with it's owner as soon as it is weened. Also it appears you never let him out off the leash. Is that the case? If so, this would increase his dependence on you and helps maintain your close bond. Been there.
Hey Eric - I just found your channel and am really enjoying your videos. So I have a question. I see that you started this journey after a break-up in 2010 and was wondering if you have started dating again and if so how women react to you living full-time in an RV. Thanks
I think i might have an idea for you dude, i have been wondering about rv living in cities that are abandoned, like detroit, cleveland, indianapolis, dayton, many of these cities you can buy land for nothing, or even houses. might be a masters thesis...
Jacks is freaking hilarious! He's looking out the window just like a little kid. LOL I'm living my nomadic life, vicariously through you, Eric. You make really great videos! Hope you start to make money through TH-cam, too!
Erik, you are making a great reality series. We all keep coming back for more!!!
I don't know why so many people give this guy a hard time. I mean if you watch his video's and find it entertaining and want to give him a few dollars that's your business. Follow your dream!!! By the time you get this, you'll only have 1 year to go!!! Best wishes!!! GOD bless!!!
Jax is the cutest cat on TH-cam!
You can just tell, that cat LOVES his life :)

I love how you are so good to Jax. You can tell he loves you.
Looks AWSOME. I'm glad to see you enjoying yourself.
Take care my friend.
I don't know if you will be doing much RV Park camping, but Passport America has been a decent deal for us. Costs maybe $50 per year, but you get 1/2 off at some rv parks. So you can make up the initial cost after using it 3 or 4 times.
Looks like a nice quiet camp ground. Thanks for sharing this experience with us.
I really want to live in an RV now.... anyways, keep up the great work with videos, and take care
watching your videos makes me want to get an rv so bad.i watch all your videos.take care, enjoy your campsite.looks so peaceful.Jax is so adorable by the way
$33 a night sure can add up fast when you are on the road. You inspired me to try Walmart out. Haven't yet but plan to. Keep traveling
I love Jax looking out the window as you fly down the freeway
Love this video. Thank you! a very complete tour of your journey!
Thanks for taking the time to show us how your hooking up everything.
The length of your videos are great. Easy to watch.
That's a nice site. I do have to agree that RV parks are pretty expensive when you consider all the free options :)
Man the RV parks are really proud of thier rocky, weedy pull throughs and picnic tables.
lol absolutely NOT getting sick of you or your videos! Infact I can hardly leave this darned laptop, I keep watching one after another here lol
I may have missed some detail your reported in the video Eric. In the docking price you also have included the possibility to use hot water showers, toilets and the cleaning area for dishes? Just to know. Thank you.

coin-operated showers? Really? WOW! I would have thought those would have been FREE? Guess everyone needs to make money! :)

Hey man, we love your vids. Whenever we are sitting around being bored, the wife says check and see if there are any new Nomadic Jax vids!
I look forward to seeing if you've posted anything new after I come in from working hard all day. Hope I can do the same thing when I retire.
$33 wow! The Motel 6 in Bakersfield is $31 a night. I stay there when I go to the Street Rod Nationals.
Nomadic Fanatic
I know what you mean, it's your home. No matter where the wife and I travel, I always prefer to sleep in my own bed.

When you hook up the sewer line at the campground does the sewer bypass the black tank and just exit the RV through the hose?
No. You just dump the tank when it needs it. Don't leave your black water tank open
@@dan65251 Unless you want to create a poopie pyramid, lol.
Just wondering. do you have to run back to Washington to re-register your RV for the next year?
I have really enjoyed your videos, keep them coming! Glad the RV is back to normal. :)
Hi Eric. Wondering what you do when purchasing item online that do not ship to a PO Box? Thank you.
Curious how you got a post office box? Ours require proof of a permanent local address to rent one.
You also stated RV parks are expensive. What all do they provide something for that cost?
Love it! Good job man! Keep the videos coming.
When is the cat allowed to freely roam and come back when she is ready. Do you have a tracker where you can find the cat within a certain range?
I am saving up right now, nervous but so excited!
I so enjoy your videos with Jax !
Loving your motorhome.
Thanks for your video's.I watch you every night. Please keep doing what you.
Call me ignorant if ya want, but for hooking up the water, does that supply your sink/shower, etc? Or just your toilet?
Cool, thanks.
Nomadic Fanatic What if you want to fill up your tanks as well? As you may have guessed, I don't own an RV.
When you hook up to the outside water spigot, you can turn off the valve that will fill up your fresh water tank and just supply the water heater, kitchen sink, shower, and bathroom sink. Just wanted to say your cat is awesome. Reminds me of my cat rocko. Great videos keep up the good work.

That was a fun one to watch! Hope you enjoy your night!
Was the $33.00 (30 amp hookup , water and sewer) including the $10.00 per adult or was that extra ($43.00) ..?
Flyer said "extra persons" were $10 ea.
glad to see your spirits are higher since all the breakdowns occurred...
I keep getting sent to your videos. =)
But since I am here, what year is your RV?
it is a 83 tioga

I have even coiled it up outside, and with the air goin, coffee maker, microwave, etc, it caught fire where it was coiled. And your water. That's exactly how you hook it up, but you need to put a 17$ pressure reg at the hydrant. I went thru 3 of those cheap Walmart safe drinking water hoses before I figured it out. Luckily the hoses burst, but the next week link is your toilet. If it blows, your rig turns into a swimming pool, until you open the door. You may have already started these practices, but just in case you haven't.Buford
+buford bingham really good info
Cool Videos Eric keep them coming mate :) I live on my RV full time here in the UK its a great life. Im into my 5th year now and love it :)
Hi Eric. I just have a question about funding your adventure.. Are you sponsored or how do you afford your expeditions? ..don't mean to be personal.. just looking into doing that for my retirement..
Thanks
Bob/Okc
It's OK. I earn untaxed income from google as a partner (the ads you see before my videos) and I now have patreon for supporting artists. Keeps me moving. :)
I kept looking through your vids and found your explanation..
CONGRATULATIONS if you are happy with your occupation and all.. More
power to ya for using your brain instead of your back. I did 28 years
in Education, here in Oklahoma and got my position eliminated last year
due to politic in our state. I didn't have a Teaching Certificate so
they had no other jobs available at my level, so I just got cut loose. I
heard ya clearly when talking about "not fair". Anyway, I had a
retirement to jump to so I took it. I am looking for other duties that
can help with the bills but not cost me my freedom or my health.. I like
watching your vids and best of luck with continued success. My best to
Jax too.
Bob/Okc
what have you decided about your car that got wrecked?
I like when Eric eats fast food, because I rarely get the chance to.
Hi Eric, hope your both doing well, can you tell me the name of the music that starts 6min 50secs in to the video please,..Thanks
Thank you and iv just downloaded it, i just heard about your situation, i hope your ok..
How well do you know Kittitas County or Snohomish County?
Eric.
Never get sick of watching your videos.infact you should do something like daily small vlogs and also join more social media like instagram, vine
That was a great video! Thanks for that information!
If you're leveled, fridge is ok. Just for safety, get a power surge and a tester for electrical because sometimes current is not exactly what it should be in rv parks, protecting your appliances from too low or too high voltage is always a good thing to have in mind. For sewer, check this: www.campingworld.com/shopping/item/foam-rubber-sewer-seal/4496
No screwing around...
Wa weather is easy.. mostly/partly cloudy chance of rain
oh I forgot u can dump dive for most things food clothes don't be to picky and have fun doing it also take a trip to the dump anything can be recycled or made into art
awwww jax makes my day
Love your cat Jacks !
He`s cool.
Wolf
What video editing software do you use?
How much Dora a tipe c rv cost new vs used thanks love your videos
mine used was $3,750. A new class C off the lot today will be $50,000 at least.
Nomadic Fanatic You got a good deal dude. I search all over the south trying to find something similar and most the rigs under $4K were in a lot rougher shape.
jerry jenkins
Now that I'm in Southern Cali, my RV has more value here!
Nomadic Fanatic Of course, you're right. I hadn't calculated it out that far.
***** there are also rv memberships that let you stay in their campgrounds all year for one low price. like www.thousandtrails.com
another great video
Where do I send a donation for the cause?
You are so living the dream!
Been there.
Don"t think you can make too many videos, enjoy all you make. Just my opinion.....
Hey Eric - I just found your channel and am really enjoying your videos. So I have a question. I see that you started this journey after a break-up in 2010 and was wondering if you have started dating again and if so how women react to you living full-time in an RV. Thanks
yeah Michelle Branch, kick ass!
Eric, what do they charge a night?
Damn, they know, where to get the money from.
Jax is awesome ! !!!!
Doo doo doo lookin' out my back door! Love the life dude!!
How do you make a living ? I am sure you have been asked before. Gas , Food , repairs etc,
Is the cat Jinks or Jacks?
What a great cat.
OH! $33.00 a DAY. The monthly is different?
Love all the videos, glad all is well. I guess you didn't have the stomach flu when you were feeling sick. :)
Love it! You are awesome!
I think i might have an idea for you dude, i have been wondering about rv living in cities that are abandoned, like detroit, cleveland, indianapolis, dayton, many of these cities you can buy land for nothing, or even houses. might be a masters thesis...
Jax REALLY loves you!!!
Hey, fellow Washingtonian :-)
