I decided to start on Christmas gifts EARLY this go around (I say this every year!😂) but for 2024 gifts I'm getting started NOW. I happened upon your channel and boy is it great inspiration. I've been doing willy nilly research on candle making for literally 10 years now and always thought wanted to pour them into recycled yogurt jars, even ate and saved about 30 of the jars. 😊
I've also been looking into cement pots for succulents for a couple years, combining these interests might just be exactly what gets me jazzed to start in and get going! Thank you for a great channel (will sub right after I post this), I look forward to watching all of your videos. ❤

A tip for getting it out of the mold better you can cut the lip of the silicone off on the bottom. I also mix water in my paint to thin it out it gives a wisp of the gold sparkle that's just beautiful ❤ i love your work they turned out great!
Your voice is so relaxing. Pour some sealer out of the big container to avoid contaminations.
I read a cement crafting blog, and the woman used a sander without the sanding part against her mold for 20 seconds. Almost no bubbles! Thought it was pretty smart.
I actually have a vibrating little machine now I set them on. I’ll have to do an updated video!

Thank you for watching! I can comfortably fit 8oz total in this jar. The amount of wax and FO will depend on your fragrance load percentage.
Ahhhh, I poured in the wax into my concrete vessel without sealing it and you can see after awhile it seeped and changed the colour of the jar.
Yes that will happen if you don’t seal!
I know this is an old video, but I am curious to know, if we are wanting to apply a stamp with our logo on the vessel, can we take it out earlier to stamp without destroying the vessel before its 100% solid?
Do you find that it is worth the time to make these jars for selling candles? It seems like it takes 24 hours just for the car I think I heard you say at the end of the video. I am exploring making my own jars but I want to be able to make them in bulk and with efficiency.

What wicks work well with these? Is it better to seal 24 hrs after demolding? I know cement pull moisture in so I’m guessing the sealant as well.
Hello! I recommend your own testing to see what works best for you, but I typically use a CDN 5/6 with coconut wax. As of lately, I wait 3 days before sealing and another couple days before pouring my wax in.

How do you tell if a sealer is safe to use? I.e non toxic and will work with the candle. I’m not from your country so can’t get the one you have been using. Thanks!
I personally like to reach out to the company via e-mail and ask. It’s the easiest and most efficient way in my opinion.

Mya i know the dimension of the cylinder mold
I'm using Quikrete, which I understand is very similar to Cement All. But I found that using a ratio which was as 'runny' as yours took nearly a week to set; vessels were crumbling when un-molding. I'm using a ratio of 3 to 1; it's much thicker & it takes some jostling to get it down the sides. But it still takes at least 24 hrs to cure. I live in the Pacific NW & wondering if the humidity causes a longer curing time. Or could there be a different reason for cure time that takes so much longer than yours?
Actually, my first jar I ever made was with Quikrete. It crumbled when I tried to unmold it the next day. I couldn't ever get it to work for this purpose. I really recommend Cement-All if you can get your hands on it. Humidity plays a factor in curing time and also how much water you'll need. On humid days here, I can unmold usually after 4 hours using Cement-All.

I have been using Rutlands for a while to seal the inside of my cement vessels as well.. wanting to use something that is non toxic. For some reason my wax still seeps through even with 2-3 coats of Rutlands. I did mix 4 parts water to 1 part Rutlands... did you mix yours with water or just apply the Rutlands from the bottle?
I mixed with water, but I actually switched again to something else! Haha. The search for the perfect sealer is never-ending. Now I am using the earth safe finishes sealer for my vessels. I'm really liking it. Though I am still using Rutlands for my concrete coasters because I like how it doesn't leave a shiny finish.

Do you do any type of spray coat of water or water bath after you demold?
Hi, I do not. I tried it one time on a jar and didn’t notice it made any difference. Had never had any breaking or cracking issues.

Do you clean the jars with anything before sealing?
Not usually. I keep them inside though and they stay pretty clean. If for some reason they seem dusty or something you could wipe them out with a dry towel.

No they won’t. They will allow the wax and fragrance oil to seep through, though.

If I paint with acrylic paint is it necessary to seal ?
