    Thank you this is a great upgrade. Having that ugly empty plug made the car feel cheap. Now with this upgrade the cabin comfort improves!
    I would like to see similar solutions for the driver side button strip of functions. (The strip of buttons has control for Auto Headlights, heated steering wheel, trunk release, etc.)
    On my XLE some of these buttons are also blanks.

    Hi Morozov, great video, just wanted to mention that it is extremely easy to pull out the panel that this plugs into. Simply remove the 10mm bolt by the shifter, pull out the trim around the shifter and up the dash a bit, then pull out the panel that holds the dummy plug we are replacing. Makes it much easier to get that big plug out and the new one in, plus easier to fish the wires through the small hole and back out. Hope that helps a few people!
    Also, make sure not to unplug the wires from the parking brake buttons and the others on that panel, because now I have a parking brake error to take into my dealer...

      MIKE LOPTIEN, YOU ARE THE MAN!!! I took out that 10 mm bolt w/o disconnecting the brake and ran it down the right side, right where the thick HVAC wire loom is and brought it under to connect to the D/C adapter! Thnx!! If you watch this video and do it their way, it's damn near impossiple to feed the wires straight out the back through that narrow hole. I did mines on an Adventure. Maybe that has something to do with it. Who knows.

    I have a 2022 Rav4 XLE hybrid. I spent 2 hours trying to install this charger....to no avail. I got all the parts removed but when I tried to feed the wires of the new charger into the rear compartment of the existing charger receiver and cigarette lighter there was no opening that would allow the wires for the new charger to reach their destination. Your video made it appear that just feeding them through the new charger opening made them appear quickly where they could access their connections. I spent a great deal of time trying to make the new wiring reach their connections but had zero luck. Any ideas?

    Finally got the time to install the charging adapter and got in to a problem. Unlike yours the panel where the charger goes and where is two seat heating buttons are has a plastic cover under with the light in the middle and it goes far in so there is no room to pull the wire from under it. I tried to pull this whole panel out but it will not come off. I can see the clips and I pulled the clips out but that is far as it goes. Any idea how to remove this panel? Thanks.

      The way he did it looks so easy but in reality it’s very different. When I did mine 1st I was not able to get the wire thru no opening at all (2019 rav4) I removed the small panel on the passenger side and the gloves compartment as well and then I used a fish wire thru the dummy opening came out thru the passenger side opening and pushed back up to the bottom opening (use a flashlight 🙂) and the I taped the wire to the fishing wire pull up and out. A lot of work, sad part after i installed it it won’t work not sure why😳😳😳 hope this will help best of luck

    Would it be possible to also upgrade this plug along with the wireless charger? Since the QC3.0 plug will be split from the cigarette lighter. Thank you for your time.

    • @MorozovAutomotive
      @MorozovAutomotive  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Both devices will be connected in parallel. The wattage summary for both is about 33 Watts. Current drawn by both devices will be less than 3 amps. Fuse rating for cigarette lighter circuit is at least 10 amps, most likely 15. So, yes, you can connect both the wireless charger and the QC3.0 USB plug.

    Question: For context of my question, I am planning on adding a wireless charging pad that draws power also from the 12V receptacle. How do you calculate the load for the 12V charger that is now also being used for wireless charging as well as two cable ports? Can it handle the load is the question? Why I ask is that I am also interested in the QC 3.0 charge port on the front dash to fill in the empty/fake button. This device also T's off the 12 volt charger. Thus can I also include this QC3.0 charger in terms of power draw? Its easy enough to daisy chain in with the others, thats not the problem.

    • @MorozovAutomotive
      @MorozovAutomotive  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sushi8204 These wires are meant for the button that disables the automatic engine start and stop system. This system stops the engine once you come to a stop and starts it again when you release the brake pedal. You may or may not have it depending on the year and the trim of the RAV4. Based on your description, you don't have the system but they still installed the wiring. You can hide the wires inside and install the the USB charger in place of the dummy.
