I cannot state how excited I am watching every episode of this series. Every episode feels so important and is filled with such feeling. I have a few predictions as to what will happen in the upcoming episodes, but whatever happens I'm sure it will look and sound stunning thanks to amazing Kyoto Animation
I love that also you can hear the sound difference in the way Kumiko plays "Hibike! euphonium". It sounds way better than when she played it on the movie "Chikai no finale", this implies Kumiko improved since his second year on highschool...!!
I'm seeing a lot of people saying Mayu is a bad person and is being rude and cruel to Kumiko on purpose. I don't know how people are getting that interpretation when I think it's clear she is very very considerate of everyone to a point that is can seem annoying or sarcastic. Also, wow, I didn't pick up on the spider wed bit.
@@SataniaSquid While I 100% with the parallels of the characters, I don't think Kumiko nor the audience is to think of Mayu as disingenuous at all. It's clear she is always thinking of others before herself and even when Kumiko snaps at her it's not because Kumiko thinks she is being rude or trying to say she is better but because Kumiko herself is scared that it's true and is stressed by everything and Mayu was there when the frustration needed an outlet.
I don't mind her overall, and am expecting to warm up as this drama unfolds. However, that "I could step down and let you take the solo" after she already competed for it was uncalled for. That was just disrespectful, if she truly felt that way she should not have auditioned for the solo part. I have great hopes for these following episodes, but that was foul.
@@jakob3044 She didn't want to audition for it at all. That's what she had been saying for many episodes before Kumiko basically forced her to audition and caused all these issues which Mayu wants no part in.
It's very interesting to see Mayu compared as the past Kumiko or the infeeior Kumiko be superior in Kumiko in musical ability. Sound Euphonium does a great job in showing talented players like Mizore lack something in their character where once they develop, they become much bettee versions of themselves. I am very interested to see what kyo ani does with Mayu in the later episode.
Where season 1 focussed on Kumiko commiting to music and not standing on the sidelines, this episode has raised a real tension between what she wants as a person (to play the solo part) and what she wants as a leader (to have a harmonious and meritocratic band). What makes it so bitter, is that her additional responsibilities as president clearly prevent her from practicing; making it more likely for Mayo to be selected.

Failure makes you stronger not weaker. Kumiko should learn from her mistakes and be better version of herself.

I really can't like mayu. I tried. She's frustrating me so much I want to scream
