    I strongly believe that Brittany made the right choices. She did what was best for her. She didn't choose to die, she chose to die without pain. Not to mention being blind and paralyzed. They need to make that law legal in all states. Keep fighting for us.

    Lets call it what it is. It's not about dying because life already decided that Brittany had to die, so she did not choose death over life, she chose to not suffer at the end for months at a time. And she spared her family watching her pain. Rest in Peace

      @sds6303 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@nm1raider758 If you think that's suicide, then you don't know what suicide actually is. Clearly she didn't want to die. She was terminally ill, there's no question about it. She was going to die anyway. So you're saying that she should continue "living" with this brain cancer, which is excruciatingly painful, she was deteriorating everyday & suffering immensely. Why on earth would you want that for her or anyone? You wanted her to live & suffer so other people could have more time with her despite her illness? She was unfortunately going to die anyway. Like seriously how could you even say that? You have no empathy or compassion.

      NM1Raider 75 NM1Raider 75 Suicide is when you choose to die. Sge didn't choose to die. That choice was taken from her. She was already dying. She just chose HOW she was going to die. She didn't have the choice to live or to die like someone suicidal would. She didn't have the choice to live. She was already dying. She simply chose HOW she would die. She said "I'm not going to die in the way that it has been described to me that stage 4 terminal brain cancer would take me." Which would have been in agony, in pain, suffering, maybe not able to speak to say goodbye to the people she loved, maybe not even able to open her eyes to ne able to see her loved ones one last time....... she chose, instead, to go peacefully. Knowing she can say "I love you" one last time to the people she loves and see them there. When somebody's choice to live has been taken from them and they're told they ARE going to die whether they like it or not, it is not suicide in any way, shape or form! Suicide is choosing to die, which she did not. If she COULD HAVE lived, she would have!!!! Unfortunately, she didn't have the option to choose to live. If someone told you "Hey, you're dying tomorrow. No if's, and's or but's! You're dying whether you like it or not! But, you have two choices! You can go in agonizing pain, seizing, vomiting, unable to speak or talk to your loved ones, begging for one more second so that you could say "I love you" OR you can go in peace, comfortable in bed, not in agony, with your favorite music playing, surrounded by those who are most important to you, telling each one individually what they mean to you and how much you love them, with all of your dignity".......... which one would you choose????

      It wasn't thought-provoking in the least. That's one of the sorriest, oldest, and most worn-out arguments that people use against the existence of God. It doesn't provoke any thought, except for those who aren't used to thinking. And still her death was a horrendous, exquisitely painful 4 months. It’s more humane to watch a person lose their quality of life? And waste away to skin and bone because their body can’t function normally anymore? I don’t buy it. If given this opportunity to die peacefully and pain free, who am I OR YOU to say no?!?!!. If your religion frowns upon it and you feel its morally wrong, then dont do it, no one says you HAVE TO GO OUT this way!. But at least pass the law so people that want this choice, that dont have another choice, CAN DO THIS!. THEY ARE DIEING ANYWAY, TERMINAL ILLNESS MEANS, NO CHANCE OF SURVIVAL!. Its not like getting abad case of pneumonia and whoa. You were lucky, NO, these people are never going to be THAT LUCKY. RIP Brittany!

    I was very familiar with her story and I followed her journey. I believe in the right to die it’s compassionate. I know that I wouldn’t want to suffer or wilt away in pain.They are taking away people’s rights and everyone should have the choice. I know it can be done other ways.Rest in piece Brittany 🎈❤️

    I do not understand who could oppose this! If you are terminally ill and do not want to use this treatment option then DO NOT!!! Why would anyone want to take this choice away from someone!!!!!!!! This YOUNG woman had so so so many choices taken from her.
    The outcome was not going to change for this woman. I would make the same choice as she did. Not only is it less suffering for her but her loved ones as well. They will not be haunted by visions of her suffering in her final days.
    People need to mind their own business!!!!! If it doesn’t hurt anyone else and is best for the person and their family then keep your nose out of it!!! These are clearly intelligent loving people who thought this choice through and made a very difficult decision that was best for them.

    Strange that there are places happy to put murderers to sleep but they won’t help the terminally ill die should they wish to choose to end their lives. We don’t let sick animals suffer any more than they need to, if we did we’d be considered cruel. I realise there’s an issue that sick people might feel pressured into choosing to die because they feel like a burden, possibly even a financial burden but there must be a way to make sure this doesn’t happen. At the end of the day, surely it has to be the individuals choice. Brittany was very brave.

    So, its ok to rip a fully developed baby from his, or her mothers womb, once the "procedure" is done? The LIFE-ENDING "procedure?" What choice did THAT child have? But its not ok for a suffering women to make the decision to end her own pain and go with dignity? Sparing her family from watching her suffer? I'll never understand that! Who ever that judge was, he's a total hypocrite! We keep suffering people alive for OURSELVES not for them! How selfish is that?

How much weight she had gained from the prednisone which I get cause I have to take it as well and I packed on 80lbs and nothing takes the weight off. But she really struggled with how she looked. Idk for me if I knew I was going to die in 6 months or less that would be my last worry. But we are all different.

    What’s the difference between this and a DNR? That is giving the person the right for them to make the decision to “end their life” on their own terms. There are people who could live if they were given cpr or whatever other life saving measures are needed but if they have a DNR nobody can do anything to save them, so they are basically killing themselves on their own terms. I believe this should be a persons choice, I also know someone who killed themself because of their diagnosis. It ripped their family apart because they were alone and suffering with this illness. If they had, had this option I strongly believe they would have had a better ending to their life.

      Hi Kim, i agree. However how do we then interpret the scripture where it says that Jesus gave himself up to death on the cross. He could have not done that, but he gave himself up to death. Also if someone stops treatment, they are also then "committing suicide" as they are not taking the medication that would help them. I think this is a very personal choice but I do not think that God is going to judge them because of it.

      Get some sense. Did you see anyone you love die from cancer.

    • @ld872
      @ld872 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Kim, our deaths are not predetermined by the Lord (Jesus Christ). We die because we are imperfect and were born sinners. The wages sin pays is death (Romans 6:23) and this (being imperfect due to inherited sin) along with time and unforseen/unexpected events occurring in our lives (Ecc 9:11) are the reasons we die today. God's will/original purpose is not and was never for humans to die. But through his sons ransom we have the prospect to regain what Adam & Eve lost which is everlasting life. Jehovah God does not give humans terminal cancer so they can die in that way or manner nor does he cause other tragic ways for persons to die/pass away. This is a false teaching. God's Word the Bible does not teach this at all. www.jw.org

    I don’t necessarily agree that we should take life into our own hands, however, in a case like this I certainly can see the reason someone would desire to do so and that it should be up to the patient to decide if death was inevitable. What I don’t understand is how a judge in CA can rule it as unconstitutional but it’s legal in OR and a couple other states. It’s all the same country under one constitution. It can’t be unconstitutional in one state and not the other. Either it is or it isn’t.
