I read once he had a pool of 15 writers at his peak, just imagine stand up comedians today having a
backup resource for joke writing like that!... he was the best of the best.

I visit Palm Springs a lot and they’re still repeating his jokes about the fire that destroyed his massive home on the mountain. The fire service had always said if it caught fire it was at danger because it was so high up on the mountainside in a desert area without sufficient water supply. It was completely rebuilt. It’s now a public building, I believe, it’s so vast.

Seeing Bob reminds me of a saying my ol' dad used "there's two hopes Bob hope and no hope"......... I always wondered what exactly the Bob hope bit meant but I think the gist of it was that things were looking ominous....
