@@michael43567 Not so much "perks" but often they have the money for the best defence lawyers, if you do have to take the fall for a crime they'll take care of you and/or your people while you're gone, you'll also have a family and community to come back to when you're out. "Snitching" is when you are AFFILIATED with the gang life and you decide to tell on your friends/gang associates in order to get a lesser charge / get off free. That's it. As a civilian, you don't share the same moral standards as the "roadman" they're talking about. You talking and telling the police about something isnt snitching, its just fulfulling your role as either a civilian or a victim.
