My wife and I want to move to Pittsburgh no later than 2 or 3 years from now. We're 40 and we're from the Phoenix, AZ area. Two things high on our list for Pittsburgh is four seasons and affordability and I do have quite a bit of family there so we wouldn't be completely on our own if we needed help. Seems like a really nice place to be.

Hahaha haha. If you're from Arizona - be prepared for the prevailing Greyness. Pittsburgh is the second cloudiest/wettest city after Seattle and occasionally surpasses it. This is not a minor thing.

Great tips Rylee. We're considering a move from Ireland to Pittsburgh. My wife is also a Pittsburgh native and moved to just outside Dublin with me in 2017. We used to have a house in Allison Park but sold in 2017. The economy and cost of living in Ireland and Europe due to the war in Ukraine and post Covid has made our lives just an existence. I commute 4hrs a day into and out of Dublin and we're both just done with it. Looking forward to the move :)

I’ve lived in Dallas for 54 years. Time now to move to Pittsburgh to work and live closer to my daughter family who live in the top of the western panhandle of West Virginia. I’m looking at living on the west side of Pittsburgh: Carnegie, McKees Rocks, Moon Town, Imperial. Something in the North Fayette and Findlay Townships. In my work, I often work from home, and also I will go to different medical sites over Pittsburgh. Easy access to highway is import.

Besides home buying can you clue us in on apartment rentals, co-ops, senior living places in the area. Even though PGH is still pretty affordable some of us don't have home ownership on our radar.

Do you have any suggestions for areas good for single professionals with dogs? Or any particular video you recommend watching?

Thinking of moving back after we (wife and I) retire next month. Grew up in Stanton Heights and wife is from Shaler. This would be close to our daughter in Chicago and close to the MIL. We are currently in Palm City, Florida.

When you say you can find homes in some neighborhoods for a million dollars and then some neighborhoods with homes for 250k, why do you use that 250k number when I see homes that are 150k and less even? That will be my budget (😔), that’s why I ask.

Tell people about Pittsburgh's decaying infrastructure. And the Tent City Downtown and the fact that half of commercial real estate is empty Downtown - nobody goes there unless required for work. There's a fair amount of street crime. It's a ghost town on weekends and nights. Most retail stores are long gone...
